Random ramblings cuz I have nothing better to do... or something... :)
This is the site formerly known as Anneke's Haven. Within, you will find information about my previous White Wolf chronicles, and other random gaming related stuff. I also have a blog here, where I talk about pretty much everything and anything, though it's primarily about my exciting life... the definition of exciting definitely being up for debate.
Enjoy your visit, and come back soon!
Nope, no Friday Five this week... it's MIA... :( For the "End of the Work Week Wisdom," we will go with... nothing... cuz it's too hot to even attempt to be wise... yeah, I'm a bit grumpy about the lack of A/C in my office... :(
4 p.m. and it's still hot in the office... *sigh*... I suppose I could leave (the boss said I could leave whenever, since it's so hot), but as the Old Man is at home with the car, I'd just be sitting outside waiting for him to get here... and that doesn't really solve a whole lot! :(
I think I've finally got just about everything ready for Fury this weekend... notes on scenes to be run, information to give to some of the players, character sheets for the record, my list of "people I need to bother about stuff," and so on, and so forth. The nice thing is that since we're leaving from our house on Saturday, as opposed to from my mom's house, I don't have to pack until Saturday morning, and the car won't be loaded to the gills with all kinds of junk! I suppose I should put the tent away properly tonight, but it seems like a waste of time when I would be pulling it back out of the bag in two days... :)
Well, less than half an hour till I'm in my air conditioned car, and then just a short ride home before I can go hide in the basement, which never gets above 68 degrees... it's kinda like a cave, but without the bats and drippiness... :)
Not much going on today... it's still hot in my office, which makes me very disinclined to do much work. I've spent most of the morning so far digging through old computer manuals in one of our carrels. My great find of the morning: some ANCIENT diskettes, measuring about 6 in. x 6 in., that were used in this thing called a Displaywriter. It was apparently a dedicated word processor from the late 70s or early 80s (my boss said we got ours in 1981... and we don't have it any more). Well, these things are true relics, and would make stunning wall decorations (for those who are inclined to decorate with old computer stuff... kinda like my optical mouse that I found in the Old Man's building...). So I asked my boss if I could keep them to give to my friends...
Guess who's getting presents this weekend? ;) w00t!
Megan and Macke came down for dinner last night, and we sorta talked about me starting my new game this fall, when Megan moves in with us. Unfortunately, we never got beyond the "here are my ideas" phase... the important question of "what kind of game do you guys want me to run?" never got answered... so guys, E-mail me soon! :)
The options, at the moment, are: (so that I can think and write about them a little bit more)
All-Tremere game, set shortly after the clan's formation (Dark Ages / Renaissance game). As I said, this would mean you would get to be a pretty potent generation, but you're still neonates. Over time, you would have the potential for some high level disciplines, but they cost a LOT of XP! :) Oh, and yes, there is a weird twist to this game, but I'm not telling you what it is just yet... ;)
Political Camarilla game set in Chicago. This is an alternate Chicago (i.e. not the one in Chicago by Night), based on the idea that the events of Under a Blood Red Moon, where the Camarilla, Sabbat, and Garou had a war, turned out in a different way--in this case, mutual extinction. So the hierarchy is all new, and all that good stuff. Like I said, this is related to the one-shot that I ran at my mom's house (around Christmas).
Some sort of Sabbat game set in Miami. I forgot to mention that this is in contested Miami. There are Camarilla and Sabbat, but if I run this game, I want to do Sabbat... I just don't know what exactly...
The "woojy" Camarilla game set in New Orleans. Lots of emphasis on investigation and research and, well, wooj. :)
And maybe my Changeling game is going to start again... Rafe, if you're reading this, I'll talk to you on Friday at game... :)
Interesting... Jean and Jess both retook the Magical Personality Quiz, and came up with different results... so I decided to do it too...
My Q Score this time was 10, which is higher...
Your Primary Mythical Creature
Water Types
The main strength of the Water types is feeling. The second element indicates the most probable focus for this emotional expression.
Mermaid
Water with Air
Astrologically associated with Pisces and the Twelfth House
Mermaid types are warm and caring in a passive, receptive way. They are given to daydreaming and to contemplation, a combination that can make them seem curiously absent and fey. They are among the most unworldly of all the types. Despite this they have a strong ability for clear, rational thinking that can be startling. They seem to have a deep, intuitive understanding of the oneness of the universe. They have a desire to help the world at large and are acutely aware of and sensitive to suffering. This is partly because they do not recognize the customary boundaries between people, other living things, time, space, this world and the Otherworld. They are frequently psychic. They can be brilliantly original and highly creative. They are usually regarded by others as benign eccentrics or as plain weird.
Your Shadow Creature
Earth Types
All the Earth types have problems relating to productivity and stability. The weakest element indicates the main focus of these problems.
Wodwose
Earth and Fire
This shadow is beset by inertia and a feeling of hopelessness and stagnation. They are prone to depression linked to apparently insuperable odds. They exhibit an attitude of defeat that is betrayed by their fatalism and pessimism. They often find themselves trapped in a rut of grinding routine. They have no energy or sense of direction. They often alienate others because of their negativity and narrow outlook and because they feel anger and resentment toward them. Passive aggression is used to good effect. They are self-neglectful of their physical needs although they may binge on unhealthy foods and substances. The biggest obstacle of weak Fire is to overcome anger and aggression; the biggest obstacle of weak Earth is to overcome self-centeredness and greed.
So this time I switched my primary elements around, and it still describes me, if not a little bit more so... and the Shadow Creature stayed the same... I'm not sure if I should think "Wow, how accurate," or agree with Jean in thinking that it's a lot like a horoscope--you can read parts of yourself into just about anything, if it's phrased in that vague, horoscope-y sort of way.
We got a message about 10 days ago telling us that they needed to make emergency repairs to the air conditioner unit that cools the basement and floors 1-3 of the library, where I work. The prediction was that the AC would be out for about 2 weeks. This wasn't too big of a deal last week, cuz it was still relatively cool out. But it heated up over the weekend, so that coming in to work today is kinda like being in an oven. It's actually only about 82 degrees in my boss' office, and I've got a fan going in my office to keep it cooler, but it's really very unpleasant to be here... *sigh*...
I suppose the good news is that this should be over by Friday, but I'm not counting on it... nothing gets done around here on time, and now that it looks like rain for most of the week, I'm sure the work will be further delayed... *sigh*...
I think we did this first one before, but here it is for those who missed it. Which Camarilla Clan are you?. I was 64% Tremere. This is not at all surprising, seeing as I work in a library!
The other test for today is: The Kook Test. C'mon, take it... you know you wanna... especially the SonofaBritsch... :)
At any rate, here's my result: "You're fairly odd. Your normal friends describe you as wierd, and you take it as a compliment. You probably wear black, so as to make a point and slightly worry the people who still remember World War I. You are likely to be interested in strange things, but you never seem to manage to get to grips with them."
Well, I'm back at work after a long weekend... long weekends are great, though they do make coming back to work all the more difficult... :(
The Garou game on Friday was pretty kewl... my major accomplishment for the evening: I overbid a locked filing cabinet. Technically, as Halv pointed out to me, I didn't overbid the cabinet exactly, but it was still kewl to say that I did... :) Other than that, I spent most of the evening attempting to explain to a "Lupus" (he's not really Lupus, but everyone thinks he is) the finer points of money, CD players, and why it is a bad idea to attempt to get out of a moving vehicle... ;)
The Forgotten was pretty slow, mainly due to not a lot of people being there, and half of the game being "alt loc" (alternate location) for the majority of the evening. But I took my sidewalk chalk, so Dani and the Malkavians "decorated" the Elysium site, all the while claiming that the "Narc" (one of the Tremere) did it. Even when people walked in and saw Dani and the Malks with chalk in hand, we would point at the Narc and say "the Narc did it!" So there was quite a bit of interesting reading on the patio at the Student Center. Now what I had forgotten is that sidewalk chalk is frowned upon on our campus... even the student organizations aren't supposed to use it on the sidewalks... I don't know why! So when the building manager came out for a cigarette, I had a TON of players running up to me and asking me where the chalk was... luckily, I was standing out in the woods at this point, with the chalk in hand... :)
Dani and the Malks also took a fun and exciting excursion to Wal-Mart... and unfortunately, this is when I was informed that there are Spider Man web shooters (they actually shoot silly string) that you can buy at Wal-Mart... so on Sunday, I made the Old Man take me to both Wal-Marts in the area, and Kay-Bee, and K's Merchandise... all of them were sold out of these nifty little devices... so I'm REALLY wanting one, and can't have one... *pout*... damn you, Ryan! Never tell the ScaryWhiteGirl about a toy that she can't have... :(
Broken Sword was similarly slow, again due to lack of players. But I did manage to accomplish most of what I had set out to do, at least to the extent that I could. Morgan actually threw her weight around a little bit, pulling rank on a couple of people! Nothing major, just insisting on the respect that should be due to a Bishop... the fun part, of course, was pulling rank on members of one of the packs, one of said members mouthing off to me, and then finding out that I was a Bishop... silly new players... they should really find out who is who before they run their mouths... :)
Fury of the Forsaken is coming up this weekend, and I can't wait! Now that most of the characters have been turned in and approved, I get to focus less on the character Nazi aspect of being an ST, and more on the plot aspect... w00t! :)
Trying desperately to kill the last half hour before I'm off work... so bored!
This is another tons o' gaming weekend... with Monday being a holiday and all, I'm going to get to play in three LARPs over the weekend:
- Tonight is the Carbondale Garou game... I didn't get to stay for the whole session last time, cuz I was sick and wanted to go home... I'm hoping this one will go well... it is certainly not the type of Garou game that I've become accustomed to, through Fury of the Forsaken... but I suppose it has it's own special charm... plus it means I get to listen to music for most of the night, cuz of my really messed up character... she has issues... :)
- Saturday is The Forgotten, which I haven't played in probably close to a month... well, now that Sarah's wedding is out of the way, I can play it nearly every weekend (1st Saturdays being the exception)... w00t! Always good for the Chief Harpy to be around as much as she can... and to mess with people, especially D... ;)
- Sunday is Broken Sword... and it looks like Morgan is going to come face to face with her Sire for the first time in 11 years... don't worry, Mander, I promise not to kill you... but no one ever said anything about maiming... ;) Hopefully my pack is gonna be there, but even if they're not, I do have a couple of ideas on things I need to take care of...
Well, I've killed a good chunk of time... I'm outta here for now, and probably won't update again till Tuesday... so everybody have a good weekend! :)
1. What's the last vivid dream that you remember having? I usually remember my dreams most every night, but the last one that I can still remember is from last week sometime. I had a dream that I was at Broken Sword, and Akasha (my friend Jenny's character) did something, so Morgan (my character) attacked her, and Akasha ended up killing Morgan. So then, later on, Akasha got hit with a derangement, and she had to come to me to figure out what derangement it was (apparently I was an ST for the game!). The one we pulled from the "derangment deck" was Harano, which is actually a Werewolf thing... and when she asked me to explain it, I said that it was about doubting your self worth and such (and then I remember this quote specifically) "because you just killed a fucking Bishop!" Yeah, I have odd dreams. :)
2. Do you have any recurring dreams? When I was a kid, I did. I would dream that I was staying at my grandma's house, upstairs, in the room that used to be my dad's room. In my dream, I'd wake up, and there would be an amber colored nightlight on, and a radio that was tuned to some talk station. Then I'd look towards the stairs, and there would be a really big, black Chinese dragon with red eyes sorta stalking up the stairs. And then I would wake up. The weirdest part was that at least one time when I had this dream, when I woke up, I could still hear the man talking on the radio. So I ran into my mom and dad's room and told my mom to turn the radio off because I was scared. She woke up and told me that the radio wasn't on. And then I realized that it wasn't.
3. What's the scariest nightmare you've ever had? Ummm... see above... :)
4. Have you ever written your dreams down or considered it? Why or why not? I would write them down, but I'm usually still half asleep when I wake up. I have bad enough handwriting to begin with, and when I'm half asleep, I'm sure it would be worse! :)
5. Have you ever had a lucid dream? What did you do in it? I think I have lucid dreams every once in a while, but none of them really stick out in my mind.
And for the "End of the Work Week Wisdom" (you know it has to be from Sandman, if the Friday Five is about dreams...)
"Our existence deforms the universe. That's responsibility."
--Delirium, in Sandman
Went and saw Episode 2 again last night... I think I neglected to mention that it was AWESOME the first time I saw it, and even better the second time!! The anticipation of Yoda whuppin' ass with a lightsaber is just too kewl! :)
Then again, I still get chills when I see the words "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..."... because I know that right after that will be that nifty chord and STAR WARS coming up on the screen. :) As I told Assie on Saturday, I've seen all of the movies in the theatre... and we're talking the first time around! Granted, I was only two years old when I saw Star Wars, but apparently I remembered it well enough when I was five... when my parents took my little brother and I to see Empire, I cried or something when I saw Darth Vader's head on the roof of the theatre. :)
Hmmm... this is kinda interesting... you can take this quiz here.
Magical Personality Quiz
Your Q Score is: 9
The Q score ideally should be as small as possible, indicating maximum agreement among elements. However, even a tiny Q score may not mean optimal functioning, since all four elements may in fact be relatively undeveloped.
Your Primary Mythical Creature
Air Types
The main strength of the Air types is intellect. The second element indicates the most probable focus for this intellectual activity.
Unicorn
Air with Water
Astrologically associated with Gemini and the Third House
Unicorn types are very concerned with the communication of ideas. They are witty and likeable but can also be quite shy. They are easily bored and easily distracted, and may seem unpredictable and superficial for this reason. Actually they are very deep and are usually trying to find the connections between the people and things around them. They are highly imaginative but not very practical. They love knowledge for its own sake and are not concerned about putting it to use. They are socially astute and sensitive to others’ feelings, but may still appear somewhat aloof. They are drawn to grand schemes for unifying people but these often don’t extend beyond the initial idea. Very logical and rational, Unicorn types are also unconventional and even bizarre. Other people may regard them as fey or just strange.
Your Shadow Creature
Earth Types
All the Earth types have problems relating to productivity and stability. The weakest element indicates the main focus of these problems.
Wodwose

Well, I'd like to think that the Primary Mythical Creature is right on, but I'm not so sure about the Shadow Creature... some of it I agree with, but some of it I'm not sure about... or maybe I just don't see it... :)
Ugh... I'm trying to figure out how to write the next Morgan story. The problem I've come across this time is that I don't really know how I can describe a combat (which lasted for all of one minute) in a way that makes it at least vaguely entertaining... I'd consider just skipping past it, but I'm not sure how to do that either... argh... any suggestions would be much appreciated! :)
Once again with nothing useful to post about... but I don't want to start back in on my project at work just yet. :)
My Werewolf index is coming along nicely! I wish I would have done the index for Vampire in Excel also... it might not be as useful for posting and sending to people, but it would make alphabetizing and sorting so much easier! Maybe when I finish the Werewolf one, I'll have to go back and redo the Vampire one... noooooo... that's probably not a good idea... I already spend entirely too much time typing and reading... :)
There's a possibility that my Changeling game might be revived, but I haven't heard for sure... we'll have to see about that. But if all else fails, I'm looking forward to this fall, when Megan will be living here, and Macke will come down for TT games! :) Just gotta get them to tell me what kind of game they'd like the best. I'm pretty flexible, and the Old Man is mostly flexible, so it should be kewl! :)
Well, time to get back on this project, so that I might get it done today... or tomorrow...
I don't really have anything useful to post about today, just a vague notion that I ought to put something here... :)
Even though my stories have gone to the back burner, there's a million little things piling up that I ought to do something about... general work on stuff for Fury of the Forsaken never hurt anyone (and there's always something more to do there!), I'm trying to index some of the important stuff from the Werewolf books I own (which is for Fury and for myself), I really want to see a timeline of the last couple of years in the World of Darkness (and if no one else does it, I'm likely to start working on that), and I've started trying to work more on my family's genealogy... the nice part about the last of those is that I actually feel like I'm getting somewhere with my mom's side of the family! Now if I could just get the last couple of things on my dad's side worked out, and get ANYWHERE on Nathaniel's (my brother in law's) family, I'd be so happy!
So that's about it, in a nutshell... work today is creeping by, and I'm not looking forward to the next project that I should start in on... it's probably going to occupy all of my time for the rest of today and tomorrow, if not beyond. *grumble* Is it so wrong to like a little bit of diversity in your daily work?
Whew... we survived the wedding! :) As the Old Man put it, it was "relative chaos in apparent order"... meaning that it looked really good from the outside, but those of us who knew what was going on knew that things were getting done at the last minute, by mostly clueless participants in Sarah's grand scheme of her perfect wedding! :)
My brother's nickname has been "Jim the Idiot" for quite a while now, and he definitely proved that sometimes the Idiot knows the truth, and isn't afraid to say it. His comment, as best as the Old Man could remember it, was: "You know, Dawn, Megan, and I have been trying for years to live in a fantasy world. Sarah has succeeded." It's true! I started the family in on roleplaying games when I was in high school, but Sarah never quite understood why we were playing those silly games. Now it all makes sense... :)
Well, at any rate, it's done, and hopefully there won't be another CRAZY wedding in my family for a while! I'm not opposed to my other siblings getting married, I just know that they'll have sane weddings... :)
Other than that, I had an all around good weekend. Mander, Assie, and I hung out on Friday, which was an absolute blast! :) We even went to Broken Sword, played Morgan's sire's pack, and had a really good time! It was nice getting to play something other than the really goth and depressing character that I usually play... :) And I know that Matt W. had lots of fun with our characters as well... now we just have to decide if we want to keep playing the "three chicks from Detroit" or not! :)
So everything is packed, and we're ready to head out after working this morning. w00t! Hopefully, I'm going to be picking up my pictures from New Orleans on the way out of town, which will be nice. Especially since it was FEBRUARY when I took them... whereas Megan is the queen of taking pictures of inane things, I'm the queen of leaving rolls of film in my camera and forgetting to use them... :)
You know, I think I still have pics from Seth's b-day party (in DECEMBER!) on that first roll... I'm horrible... oh... I just realized I still have pics from Jim's b-day party (in NOVEMBER) on there as well... geez...
Well, there won't be a Friday Five tomorrow from me, nor will there be End of the Work Week Wisdom... unless, by some freak chance, I can fight off all of the other members of my family and get to use Mom's computer for a little while. This is the problem of having all four of my mom's kids in the same house for the weekend... plus the Old Man, the "grand-cats," and any number of other people (like Kristen, and possibly Macke) who will be spending the night. Ugh.
We had too much free time at lunch today. So I've created a Gallery. It's only contents are a couple of silly pictures of what the Old Man and I would look like if we were Lego people. Okay, not really, but it's cute anyway! :)
Ugh, too much stuff to do today when I get home. First, I need to get all of our stuff packed for the weekend, as Sarah's wedding is causing us to have an extended weekend... :) That shouldn't be too difficult, it's just a matter of making sure that we have multiple outfits for some of the days, cuz there is a lot of stuff going on. (As a side note, I don't remember things being this hectic the week before my wedding. This could be because I was oblivious (x12) and didn't concern myself with any of the preparations, or it could be that Sarah is making things crazy, as she is prone to do...)
Second, I should probably finish scanning Megan's pictures from Changeling and Garou, so that I can get them back to her and get the OTHER batch... I was supposed to be getting the group pictures of the various Kiths, but those aren't in the book that she gave me. Did I mention that Megan takes entirely too many pictures of inane things? ;)
Third, all kinds of stuff to work on for Garou, after our meeting last night. And I should probably get that done ASAP, because after tomorrow morning, my internet will be spotty for a few days...
The weather for Saturday is still looking promising, but my fingers are staying crossed till after the reception... :)
I'm still crossing my fingers that this will be true, but the weather forecast for Saturday says mostly sunny... which is very good! It does look like it might be a bit cool though, which is not a happy occurence when our bridesmaid dresses are flimsy little summer things... I guess I better find a nice sweater or something, cuz I know that Sarah would not be pleased to have me wear my leather biker jacket over my dress... ;)
Attack of the Clones comes out in two days! It looks like I won't be seeing it until late Saturday night though, as the rehearsal dinner is Thursday night, and I'm hanging out with Mander and Assie on Friday night. I'm not complaining, though, because I'd actually rather give it a couple of days so that I don't have to wait in a huge line and/or sit in a really crowded theater. I have a feeling that both of those things will occur no matter how long I wait to see it, but I'm trying to be optimistic here!
Today is just all about me bragging! :) I just finished reviewing all of the articles for that book that I'm working on. I needed to get them done by Thursday morning, at the latest, and it's only Monday! Go me! This means that the rest of my week shouldn't be nearly as hectic, which will be a nice change! :)
I'm so proud of myself... I actually accomplished stuff around the house this weekend! We got a new garage door remote, so that we can close the garage from inside the house, and I reprogrammed the old remote and the new one so that they work. Then we got some little solar powered lights to put along the sidewalk in the back of the house, and those seem to be working. And then, for the crowning achievement, we took down the old motion detector light (that always stayed on), and replaced it with one that actually works right. Of course, in the process of that, we blew a fuse, but I was the one who figured that out... after the Old Man couldn't get the garbage disposal to work... :)
Now on to all of the other projects that need to be done. It's kinda sad that we've lived in our house for more than a year now, and are just finally getting around to fixing some of the things that have needed fixing for the entire time. I guess that's what weekends are actually supposed to be used for... :)
In other news, I can't wait until this stupid rain stops. It's been going on and off for the past few weeks, and it looks like, with the exception of tomorrow, that it's going to continue for the foreseeable future. This is not kewl, especially since my sister Sarah's wedding is Saturday, and the reception is outside. Mud volleyball, anyone? :)
I found a World of Darkness test. I turned up with equal scores (12) in Mage and Changeling. This doesn't surprise me in the slightest, honestly. :) The funny part was that I had a 6 for my Wraith score, a 1 for my Werewolf score, and a -3 for my Vampire score. I guess it is true that I live in the Shiny Happy World of Darkness... :)
Looks like no Friday Five again this week. *sigh*. I might just have to start making my own or something! :)
I spent a good chunk of last night up on the 2nd floor of my house, digging through my old journals, mostly from when I was in high school and undergrad. I actually went up there in search of a poem that my sister Sarah wrote when she was younger, which I was pretty sure I had written down somewhere. See, Sarah is getting married in eight days, and she has already told her loving brother and sisters that we are not allowed to embarrass her at the reception with certain stories that we like to tell about her. Well, me being inventive and crafty, I thought I'd come up with something else that she probably doesn't even remember. Hehehe... >:) It's not that it was a bad poem, from what I can remember of it, it was just very much something that a child would write, as opposed to something that the oh-so-adult Sarah of today would write. I actually thought it would be cute and sweet to find it and read it at the reception.
The problem is that I couldn't find the poem. If I actually wrote it down, it's not in one of my journals, at least not in any of them that I can find. But, at the same time, I had a rather interesting hour or so of rereading the stuff I wrote in my teenage years. Wow... it's hard to believe that I was ever that young, or that goofy. Well, no, it's not actually all that hard to believe, but it was still kinda funny. Kinda bittersweet, though, as I read about some of the people I used to be friends with, who I never see or talk to anymore. There's one in particular that I'd really like to try to track down, but I'm not sure if I should or not. I imagine that he would be easy enough to find, but I don't really know that we would have anything in common anymore. *sigh*
Well, at any rate, I don't have any "End of the Work Week Wisdom" at the moment. Maybe I'll think of something later! :)
Happy birthday wishes once again. This time they go out to FatDan, whose birthday is today, and S_C_R_A_T_C_H, whose birthday was sometime this past week... too bad he didn't tell me which day this past week... :)
Well, it's rather short, and definitely should be followed up by more stories, but it's here. So It Begins is the latest of the Morgan stories. Like I said yesterday, when I started working on this personal plotline, I thought I knew how it would turn out, and how I would actually like to see it turn out. Things don't seem to be going that way anymore, based on what I've heard from the Broken Sword STs so far. But at least now the thought process that took Morgan out of action in Broken Sword for nearly a month is written.
And if all else fails, I'll write the rest of the story the way I think it would have happened... :)
Well, we still can have the "End of the Work Week Wisdom"...
"Life is pain, Highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something." --The Princess Bride
Yeah, I've noticed that most of my "EotWWW" are quotes from someone else... but that's okay... I'm not all that good at coming up with witty clever things, at least not like Seth is... :) And since he has the ever-superior hair, I'm not gonna borrow his quotes... yet... :)
It's another gaming weekend! Broken Sword tonight, Fury of the Forsaken tomorrow night. Which means camping, and hopefully this time we'll be able to stay, rather than packing everything up at 1 a.m. and driving home! :) Oh, and for the players of Fury who read this page, did I mention... "muhahahahah..." >:) I love being an evil ST! :)
Well, the X-Men test says that I'm Jubilee. I suppose this would be more valuable to me if I actually knew who this character was. She wasn't in the movie, so I'm kinda clueless... :)
I went back and looked at my "to-do" list that I posted here... here's the update...
Morgan story - nothing doing, here. The way that I anticipated the story going is absolutely nothing like the way the game is going. So I've written an introduction, that I may post, but the story probably won't get finished... :(
Garou stories 1 through 3 - ummm... right, I was working on Garou stories? Oh, I did start on the first one. Spent about 15 minutes on it. Stopped writing, and started playing the Sims. Damn, there's the problem! :)
Beyond stuff - not worrying about that any more, because that game ended.
I'm finally to the extremely tedious part of working on a book--the final checking of the proof sheets. Making sure that the words are hyphenated nicely, that there aren't any stray lines that should be moved to the previous or next page, and making sure that the people at the press made the changes we wanted them to. It doesn't help matters any that I have completely cut myself off from all sources of caffeine. I had a kidney stone on Saturday, my second in five years. The last time I had one, the doctor told me that I should not eat nuts or chocolate, nor should I drink "brown" soda (read cola types). Well, I don't like nuts to begin with, so that was no problem. Chocolate was more difficult, but I definitely cut it back a lot. But soda was something that I couldn't do without. I was halfway through my master's at that point, and working like a mad woman on my thesis. Yeah, caffeine GOOD!
Well, I think now that it's a good idea to cut out the soda, except in very moderate amounts. So the last time I had a Coke was Sunday morning, and that was only because I honestly thought my head would explode if I didn't. I've been drinking tea about every other day, but it's not the same. And somehow water just doesn't have the taste or the "oomph" that soda does... :(
Needless to say, I've been grumpy lately... I'm hoping that I will get over that pretty soon, and be able to be normal again. Cuz trust me, I don't want to have another kidney stone! EVER!
