C-dale Garou in a few hours... should be a good time... we get to have a REAL moot at our newly reopened caern! At this point, I'm just hoping that it's not as warm as it was last week, cuz I wanted to die, and I know I wasn't the only one... standing around in combat all night, in the heat, makes people want to get really toasted...

And I'm not getting drunk tonight... cuz Random Patterns is tomorrow, and I SOOOO don't need to be hung over when I'm trying to run a coherent plotline... ;) And maybe, if he's lucky, we'll get to the point where I can introduce the Old Man's character... :)

Something kewl I found at Jess' site... :)

A- Animals: None, because the Old Man is allergic. If I had my way, I'd have at least one cat! And I wanted a turtle for a while, till I found out what they eat, and that you have to clean the tank every week. That's a little bit too high maintenance for me!
B- Best Friend(s): Assie and Mander are my closest girlfriends, but there are a lot of other people that I'm close to. Too many to name here, really, so I'll just give the shout out to my girlies... :) We so need to do another shopping and Chinese food day!
C- Cohabitants: The Old Man, and, for the summer, Ron. Around the beginning of August, Megan is coming to live with us as well.
D- Desire(s): To find a job that I can do at home, in my pajamas!
E- Eye Color: Very boring brown... though when I cry (and sometimes when I'm really tired) they turn a little bit green.
F- Favourite Foods: Most anything Chinese that involves chicken, buffalo chicken strips at Denny's, toasted ravioli, and Blizzards at DQ that involve chocolate (even though I'm not supposed to eat it!)
G- Games: Vampire: the Masquerade, and just about anything else that White Wolf has published... aside from RPGs, however, "Apples to Apples" and "Catch Phrase" are two great party games...
H- Habits: I suppose I probably do have some habits, but I don't really give them a whole lot of thought. I do have a lot of fairly strange routines, though... like I always have to get ready for work in the same way, or it doesn't seem right...
I- Interests: RPGs, music, movies, genealogy (sometimes), and reading
J- Job: I'm the textual editor for the Ulysses S. Grant Association. For those who haven't heard the explanation of my fabulous job, this means that I do mostly secretarial stuff, some historical editing, and a whole lot of wasting time on the internet... :)
K- Kitchen...wonder or blunder? There are a few things that I cook that are really good, but I let the Old Man do most of the cooking... :)
L- Languages: From Kindergarten to 5th grade, I studied French. Didn't have it again until my first two years of high school, then didn't have it again till my first year and a half of undergrad. Suffice it to say, I don't speak or read it very well. I've also studied a year of Latin, the equivalent of a year of Old English, and a year and a half of German. I'd love to study Japanese, but don't have the patience for it!
M- Most valued possession: I have a LOT of stuff, and the vast majority of it is pretty important to me... so this is really hard to say! In the sense that something valued is probably irreplacable, there is a large cardboard box in the upstairs closet that I would want to keep if I couldn't keep anything else. It's mostly things from around the time I was in high school and undergrad, but there are some tiny scraps of paper and pictures in there that I want to keep forever.
N- Name (named after?): Ummm... not named after anyone, as far as I know. My mom wanted to name me Dawn Heather, but there was another baby born at the same hospital, a few days before me, with that name. So my dad put his foot down and I got to be Dawn Alicia instead.
O- Outfit you love: The "elegant" Morgan costume, which is a black sleeveless shirt that hooks up the front, and these awesome black silky pants that look like a skirt. It's REALLY comfortable, and I always get compliments on it!
P- Pizza toppings: Pepperoni and extra cheese. If I was getting my own pizza, though, that I didn't have to share, pineapple and ham. No one else will eat that though...
Q- Question asked to you the most: "Where is [something]?" Usually asked around the office, where I'm supposed to keep vague track of the contents of 80+ filing cabinets and about 20 small rooms...
R- Relationship: Married to the Old Man, for five years now... and he still puts up with me... :)
S- Sport to watch: I used to REALLY like watching baseball, and, later, hockey. Not so much of a sports fan now, but I don't mind catching a little bit of a Cardinals game on TV... I just don't like watching the silly Cubbies...
T- Television show(s): I really don't watch TV, anymore. If it's on, it usually means that Ron is watching something, which I might glance at from time to time. I'll occasionally watch MTV2 for hours on end, but that's about it.
U- Unsavory characteristic: I worry too much about things that are entirely out of my control.
V- Video: The Princess Bride is my absolute favorite movie ever, but there are a lot of other movies that I like too!
W- Webpage: Does this mean favorite? Cuz I love my own webpage, and all the links down the side! :)
X- Xylophone (or other instrument): Played flute for about 4 years, though I never got good at it. I tried to teach myself to play the guitar, but I'm pretty bad at that as well. I want to learn to play bass guitar, cuz I think I could handle that... :)
Y- Year born: Here it is... just how old the SWG actually is... 1975
Z- Zodiac Sign: Aries, and I tend to fit what they say about my sign... though not everything!

Friday Five!

When was the last time you...

1. ...sent a handwritten letter? Ummm... wow... I don't usually write letters by hand, as anyone who has ever seen my handwriting (read: chicken scratch) will appreciate! Even when I write my grandma, I usually type it! :)

2. ...baked something from scratch or made something by hand? So making those pillows for Adriane with my sewing machine wouldn't count, I suppose... which means, in other words, I have no idea... :)

3. ...camped in a tent? May 4th, which was the last time we stayed at Benji's farm after Garou... hopefully we'll get to do so again next weekend!

4. ...volunteered your time to church, school, or community? Ummm... I guess that would be the Jaycee's blood drive... in January or February... can't remember...

5. ...helped a stranger? Well, I guess I kinda help strangers when they call my office, thinking that it's some other office. I'm usually nice enough to look up the right phone number and give it to them. I'd transfer them to the right department, if our phones were capable of that! :)

And the "End of the Work Week Wisdom"...

"It is said that the Devil has all the best tunes.
This is broadly true. But Heaven has the best choreographers."

--Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, Good Omens

Special thanks to Jess and Chris, who sent me Good Omens, Neverwhere, and Stardust... as the Old Man can attest, I act like a small child when I get presents! :)

More later... :)

Well, I'm just getting to work this morning... :) Our car has been acting kinda funny for a while now, like not wanting to start right away, and silly things like that. So we get in the car this morning to drive to work, and the car won't start... I, in my infinite wisdom, listen to the funny noises it's making and say "either the battery or the starter." I've been through a lot of cars in my time, and they've all had more than their fair share of silly problems. I don't claim to know cars well, but I've usually got decent guesses on the causes of problems. My dad wanted me to be self-sufficient when it came to cars, but when he was trying to teach me all this stuff when I was 16, I was completely not interested... :)

Any rate, the Old Man isn't so sure about my diagnosis, but seeing as the options are wait till 8 a.m. when the Saturn dealership opens, or walk to the auto parts store that is practically in our backyard (and in any town other than M-boro, our backyard would be big enough that it would be in our backyard), we choose the auto parts store. Tell the guys there what the car is doing, they give us a battery tester, and we head back to the house. Battery is kinda okay, but pretty sluggish and sad... so we buy a new battery.

Now then, I'm a very small person, as people who know me can attest. This means I have very small hands. This means that when it comes to fixing things on the car, I'm the one who does considerable amounts of the work. Sure, whatever boys happen to be around are in charge of the "lifting heavy things" category, but I'm the one who replaced the fan belt on our Olds, and got to undo and redo all of the nuts and bolts and connections on the battery...

Go me! The car started (on the third try, granted), and I'm at work now. Probably gonna have to take a day off next week to go take the car in for a "check-up," but at least it's running now...

And at least it didn't pull this crap in Marissa... :)

Wow... I should be a lot more tired than I am at the moment... the Garou ST meeting went later than we usually go... but we had a lot to discuss, and we accomplished quite a bit... and if you're a player in that game, check the message board for more information! :)

Tonight is character creation for the Old Man's Exalted game... should be a lot of fun, if I can ever settle on what my character is really going to be like... I keep coming up with more ideas... :) It will be nice to get to play in an Exalted game that will last more than a handful of sessions... and one that I'll actually be able to play in... :) Too bad Jason is a big loser, and wants to go play some other dumb game instead of coming to Exalted this week... ;p

Anyways, looking forward to the Moot on Friday in the C-dale Garou game... I still have a lot of work to do for my character's part in it, but that should be fun... suffice it to say that when you tell a Glass Walker Ragabash to tell her own story, she has to make it memorable... and then some... ;)

I had the weirdest dream last night. Apparently, I was in a band with Jim, D.J., and Paul (all guys from E-ville), and we were playing a show, somewhere... it must have been something like Six Flags, or maybe Silver Dollar City... just a big open stage, outside. It was an odd band, because I was playing an electric guitar that wasn't plugged in, but I was playing it more like you would play bass... sorta... Jim was playing an acoustic (that may have been plugged in), and D.J. and Paul were both playing bass, I think... so no drummer, and I don't think any of us were singing, either. I can't even remember how the music sounded, now! :)

Now if that's not weird enough, then we went to this really ginormous house for some reason... like three or four stories, lots of stairs, and I think there were some secret passages or something. And I guess we were in the house, and we (or maybe just I) ran into W'raa... so then W'raa and I are walking around, except then we're definitely at Six Flags... and I guess we were walking the tracks of one of the roller coasters or something, and I was carrying the guitar I had been playing earlier and my lunchbox...

Now as a side note for those who have never seen my lunchbox, this is important. It's a red plastic lunchbox, that used to be Megan's Dick Tracy lunchbox... except I peeled the Dick Tracy sticker off of it, and covered it with other stickers. Most of them are really silly and cutesy, but it's literally COVERED with stickers. I get a lot of comments on it when I'm in the elevator, or walking around campus with it... :) At any rate, it's one of my prized possessions...

... so back to the dream... W'raa and I are walking, and somehow the lunchbox escapes my grasp, and goes flying into this lake-like body of water underneath the roller coaster (or whatever we were walking on)... so I could still see it, but there was no way to get it back... it's sort of like when you ride the roller coasters at Six Flags, and see all the hats and sunglasses that have fallen off... but people never get those back, at least as far as I know. And all I did in response to losing my lunchbox was say "Crap." And then I guess I woke up...

Which reminds me... stupid power going out 5 minutes before I was supposed to wake up today! Cuz when the power goes out, the answering machine beeps... that was another odd thing. I must have still been dreaming when the answering machine beeped, because I could have sworn that as I woke up, I heard someone finish leaving a message... but I hadn't heard the phone ring. And there was no message on the machine, either.

Maybe I'm suffering from sleep deprivation... I did get a couple more hours of sleep on Saturday, after breakfast... and I got about 5 hours of sleep on Sunday morning, after chilling with the guys late Saturday night... but at the moment, it really doesn't look like I'm going to have much of a chance to get extra sleep this week... :)

Ah well... yet another Garou ST meeting tomorrow night, and hopefully it will be the last one before the next game... otherwise next week is going to be just as hectic as this one!

The PowerPuff Girls movie comes 9 days from now!!!! And I get to go see it with Assie and Mander! w00t! :)

Nope, this isn't a joke... yes, I'm actually awake... and yes, I've slept already. :) Witness, if you will, the amazing recuperative powers of the scary white girl... :)

So I get home probably about 2:15 or something like that... I'm EXTREMELY drunk, as is obviously going to happen when I down three and half wine cooler type things, and a shot of tequila in... oh, about an hour and a half... :) I've got a leftover chicken strip in the fridge, so I eat that and start reading some magazine on the table... then I decide that the living room floor is a great place to sleep, and lay down in there... and spill water all over the living room floor, and then eventually get to bed.

I wake up at 7:30 a.m., completely out of the blue (no neighbors getting honked at this time). I feel fine. I get up, get some ibuprofen and a vitamin, and go back to bed. But I'm not tired any more. So I get up, completely fine, take a shower, and now I'm here. And I'm hungry. So I'm gonna go eat now, and then come back and concoct some more evilness for Random Patterns.

Do I scare anyone yet? :)

It's nice that the Friday Five is back to being a regular thing! :)

1. Do you live in a house, an apartment or a condo? A house, which looks really tiny from the outside, but has far more space than we actually need on the inside. It's a bizarre feat of physics, or something...

2. Do you rent or own? Own! :)

3. Does anyone else live with you? The Old Man, and, for the summer, Ron. Come August, add Megan to that equation. :)

4. How many times have you moved in your life? Four times, if you don't count moving in and out of the dorms when I was in undergrad. I lived in the same house all my life, till I got my sweet apartment in K-ville, then moved to C-dale, then a second apt. in C-dale, and now my house.

5. What are your plans for this weekend? C-dale Garou tonight, Random Patterns tomorrow night, and dunno yet for Sunday. And some chores around the house interspersed with the gaming. :)

End of the Work Week Wisdom:

Argh... something is wrong with my E-mail, and I can't access it... *grumble*... this better be fixed really soon, or I will be a very unhappy scary white girl!

Well, it's Thursday... time to start concocting more evil plans for my next Random Patterns game... muhahahaha... >;) And also time to start bracing myself for the interesting time that this Friday's C-dale Garou will be... we're opening a caern... and, as I'm sure the people from Fury will remember, that was a really awesome game, but rather painful... I'm just hoping that none of our characters get gicked...

So yeah, this means that I'm going to be missing the final sessions of Broken Sword... that wasn't the original plan, but things change... I'm not sure what will happen to Morgan now... but I'll be writing up the last story or two of the Morgan saga pretty soon... then I've got a Dani story in the works... and maybe some Werewolf stories...

Which reminds me... Macke has written some REALLY good stories about his Garou character... granted, they're sorta in the style of bad detective novels, but he does really well with that genre... check them out here (go to "The Story")... :)

Hmmm... couldn't find the exact test that I wanted, but this will do for now... :)

How Well Do You Know the Rocky Horror Picture Show? - I got 64%, which is kinda disappointing, seeing as I just watched it last night... :)

I wanna find the test to see which character from RHPS you are... somebody find it for me, please? :)

What's really eerie, though, is that all three of us have the same template, just in different colors... that's creepy... :)

Garou ST meeting went well enough. Though I found out that there is something odd about my CD burner... the tracks on the CD I made for Bradzerker are mixed up... can't figure out why tho! I wonder how many of the other CDs I made are messed up... *grumble*...

On the way home, though, I heard about the bands that are playing the Warped Tour (which is in St. Louis next Wednesday), and I'm kinda annoyed that I won't be able to go... but I'm more annoyed when I'm looking at the listing of bands, and found out that The Damned are on part of the tour, later this summer, but nowhere near here... :(

But besides all of that, I'm in a remarkably good mood! :) Yay, the shiny happy Dawn always shows through... :)

Okay, so I decided to go take a bunch of clan tests that they had at SelectSmart... I'm thinking that the people that made these tests included a few too many possible results!

On two of the tests, I came up as Brujah... yes, I have a temper, and it can get pretty fierce... the odd part was that my second choice on one of those two tests was Nagaraja!?!?! No comments from the peanut gallery on me liking to play characters that eat people... :p

One of the tests, I came up Toreador, and then Malk... okay, that's not too bad... but on another one I came up Lasombra, then Ravnos...

And then the best of the five... Assamite sorceror, then Toreador...

And I thought I was just a plain old Tremere... :)

Because I've realized that most people who read this page probably don't know the story behind the nickname, let me present, for your reading enjoyment, The Tale of the ScaryWhiteGirl... :)

This past fall semester, I was taking a class on Monday nights. It ran till about 8:30, which meant that I didn't get home till about 8:45. Now, for those who don't know, Monday night is when the WWF is on TNN, and the Old Man is (or was) a big wrestling fan. So every Monday night, he, Mikey, and Ron would assemble over at the house to watch wrestling, down in the basement. I would get home from school and head upstairs to drop off my bookbag and whatever else I had brought home with me, and then head down to see what I had missed...

One night, I came in and headed upstairs. Ron, in a really girly voice, says "Oh no, someone's breaking in!" And so I yelled down the stairs, "Uh, yeah... scary white girl, breaking in." Apparently this sent Ron into a fit of laughter, that ended with him rolling around on the floor... or maybe that had something to do with the strange effect that gravity has on Ron when he's in our basement (really, I can't explain it!).

So yeah, that's the story of my nickname. It's a lot funnier to those of us who were actually there at the time... :)

Garou meeting tonight! Should be lots of fun, and hopefully we'll get a lot done while having fun... that's always a good thing! :) I think I posted a reminder for this earlier, but if you play in that game, and read my page, and haven't checked the message board lately, you should do so! If you don't know where the message board is, go to my LARP page, and go from there... :)

I keep thinking that I'm forgetting to do something for the meeting tonight, but I can't put my finger on what it is. The Old Man is making photocopies for me today, so I know that's taken care of... but there's still a nagging feeling that I will show up and someone will ask me about something, and _then_ it will hit me... :) I have a good memory about some things, but there are other things that I have to write down, or I will forget them in an instant...

Already looking forward to the next installment of Random Patterns... we'll be a Goog short this week, but I think we can make do without him... :) After all, Murdoc only wants to find out what that damn snake knows... and, oh yeah, maybe we should figure out what's going on with the Death-Fangs... ;)

Apparently, I'm a cinnamon Jelly Belly... the test is here... :) Okay, so the description is kinda me... :)

I also took the Which recurring Kevin Smith character are you? test... and I was Trish the Dish... *sigh*... I guess it could have been worse, Banky was my 2nd place answer, and he's an ass...

I need to make a page for my new game, Random Patterns (the Sabbat game I mentioned yesterday)... I think the people who played in it will understand why... Jubilee is one of the most fun NPCs I've created in a long time... wish I could play her for real, but I don't think it would work so well without her pack, or at least Jack... hey Gabe, how dead set are you on playing Fogey's childe in the fall? ;)

Heh... after telling a couple of people that I wrote E-mail to this morning that I needed to get back to work, I'm still not doing anything productive... better start working, for real this time...

Well, after I check a couple more message boards, anyway! :)

Yeah, I'm actually blogging from home... odd, ain't it?

This weekend was AWESOME... I found out Thursday that Omar and Zach were coming down here... then Friday, Goog shows up at my office... so I had three old friends in town for the weekend! :) A bunch of us stayed up till like 4 a.m. on Friday, talking about old times... but then the next door neighbor got picked up for work at 7:45, so I was up by 8... :(

Started my new game on Saturday, which was AWESOME... the guys wanted Sabbat, so I gave them Sabbat! :) They told me about their character concepts on Friday night, so I decided to work with them... and make one of the most TWISTED packs I have seen... and then everything just fell into place... :) Gabe's sadist / nymphomaniac Toreador AT and my NPC masochist Malkavian AT got 10s for each other on the Vaulderie roll... so their little fun and games made things quite interesting... :)

So then we get done playing, and decide to run to campus to see who went to the interim LARP... not a lot of people, but everyone wanted to go drink... I had nothing better to do (and one drink already in me), so I was 'bout it... ;) I would now like to state, for the record, that drinking games are evil, and a bunch of people need to take drinks because of that! Too bad I never was President... :( But it was an absolute blast, and walking to Denny's at 5 a.m. is always good... well, actually it's not good, but it was a good time! :)

So I'm really tired, despite about 6 hours of sleep this morning... at least I'm doing pretty good (or better) with typing now... I really should do laundry now, and hope that I can find something to do later tonight...

ARIES (March 21 - April 19) Star Wars Character : The Emperor
The Emperor has demonstrated his liking to inflict pain on people just as people born under the sign Aries often do. He feels he is at the center of the universe and he must be in control. He enjoys being a leader and his aggression and quick-tempered attitude also helps him with this.

TAURUS (April 20 - May 20) Star Wars Character : Chewbacca
Chewbacca is a dependable creature but he can tend to be stubborn. He likes material possessions and loves to win at games. He tends to hate being bossed around or losing and he may succumb to his physical strength when upset.

GEMINI (May 21 - June 20) Star Wars Character : Ewok
Ewoks are playful little creatures as are Gemini's. They tend to be extremely curious, craving knowledge but sometimes having short attention spans. For the most part they are charming and lovable beings but they can seem scattered and high-strung at times.

CANCER (June 21 - July 22) Star Wars Character : Luke Skywalker
Luke seemed to be somewhat whinny sometimes but he eventually developed the thick hard shell of a Cancer. He is strong willed and persistent to get what he wants. He never shys away from a fight at the first sign of danger. Not to mention he began to master the element of mind manipulation.

LEO (July 23 - Aug. 22) Star Wars Character : Princess Leia
Leia adds a whole new meaning to high self-assurance which is evident in Leos. She is a nurturing person with great physical strength. Like many Leos she will see that her mission for good is completed and she is very optimistic about the outcome.

VIRGO (Aug. 23 - Sept. 22) Star Wars Character : C3P0
C3P0 shows his efficiency when working for a good caused but he tends to be a little bit fussy when it comes to doing something out of the ordinary. Like many Virgos he wants to stay out of the spotlight and he does well at picking up minute details.

LIBRA (Sept. 23 - Oct. 22) Star Wars Character : "Obi Wan" Kenobi
As always Obi Wan continues forward in his pursuit of justice and he is determined to succeed. He conveys his art of persuasion through the force. He displays his supreme intelligence and is very talented in obtaining balance between himself and his surroundings.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23 - Nov. 21) Star Wars Character : Han Solo
Han is a powerful character. He also tends to be possessive and lusty which would explain Han's greedy nature. He feels threatened by Leia's attempt to order him around which displays the disliking Scorpios have for people who try to control them. He is often prone to suspicion and jealousy as seen in the Empire Strikes Back. However, his resilience and passion lead him to get what he wants.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22 - Dec. 21) Star Wars Character: Yoda
Yoda is superbly wise and he has been known to spread this wisdom widely. He seems to be impatient and pushy when people take his teachings too lightly. As always his philosophical side always peeks through.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22 - Jan. 19) Star Wars Character: R2D2
R2's ambition and inexhaustible desire to reach their goals/destination. He is very loyal, sometimes going to great lengths to help someone out. He is a very social unit winning the hearts of many with his cute personality.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20 - Feb. 18) Star Wars Character : Darth Vader
Vader can be cruel and torment people who disagree with him but deep down there is a peace-loving, friendly side to him. He has a knack for inflicting pain on people and he uses his intellect during battle.

PISCES (Feb. 19 - Mar. 20) Star Wars Character : Lando
Lando is the typical character with his head in the clouds. He is self-sacrificing but may be too passive to stand up to Vader. He became fairly pessimistic when put under pressure. He also poses as a chameleon wanting to change his scenery on occasion.

Okay, so I'm a little annoyed (being an Aries)... I suppose this means that I should hurt Ventura the next time I see him... :)

Since I got my site meter going, I've actually been able to see where some of my hits are coming from... people I don't even know are reading my blog! Rock on! :)

It does make me a little self-conscious tho... makes me want to put some good content here, so that people don't just hop over here to see what I'm droning on about today... :)

Unfortunately, I don't have much to say right now. C-Dale Garou is tonight, and the Old Man has said that it should be interesting... so that's kewl, I suppose... when the Old Man says interesting, unfortunately, it could very well mean interesting in the "May you lead an interesting life" Chinese curse sense of the word... :) I do know one thing tho... if my pack isn't there again, it's time for the freakish little Glass Walker to find herself a new pack!

Now I'll be the first person to tell people that if they aren't enjoying a game, they probably should find something else to do, that they will enjoy. And real life comes first, that's a given. But Garou is a game that does require some dedication, or at least a willingness to let the others of your pack know if you aren't going to be around. Since I started back in this game, it's pretty much Russian roulette as to who is going to be in attendance on any given night. It makes it difficult to form any decent pack relationships, and it really hurts the roleplaying as well. If Pack A is all in attendance, and they go to do their pack business, and Pack B has most of their members, and they go off to do something together, what happens to the lone member of Pack C (because the rest of his/her pack didn't come to game)? *sigh*... no, there's no easy solution to this, it's just something I felt like bitching about today...

Well, yeah, there's work on my desk. That's what I should be doing... I'm outta here! :)

Wow... you know I've been jonesin' for the Friday Five when it's about laundry, and I do it anway!

1. How often do you do laundry? Once a week, so I can get it all done at once!

2. What's in a typical wash load? Clothing... what else would one typically wash? Or am I not getting this question?

3. Front or top loader? Powder or liquid detergent? Top loader, liquid detergent

4. Do you use fabric softener in the rinse cycle? Yes, and lots of it! :)

5. Dryer or clothesline? Dryer. We have this nice metal clothesline thingie in our back yard, but the Old Man wants to take it down... I guess I'll let him.

Well then, I hope you all enjoyed your nap while I talked about my laundry... wow.

Taking a break from work to complain about how boring my current project currently is... maybe that's why I'm not getting anywhere with it! :p

I've been extremely tired this week, which is why I haven't moved on to any of the other projects that I could be doing. They all involve moving around and moving large quantities of paper and/or books to different locations... which doesn't seem appealing right now. So I've been chugging along, slowly but surely, on the boring project instead... *sigh*...

The ST meeting last night was good, and we talked about some really kewl stuff that's in the works. I'm already completely psyched for the next game, which isn't for another 3 and a half weeks... :) If you are in that game, and don't read the message board on a regular basis, go there!

In other news, the Forgotten is taking a month long hiatus, and I'm not sure what I'm going to do with my Saturdays. A couple of the guys were going to run a temporary Anarch game, which sounded kewl! Now, a couple other guys are talking about doing a game instead, and I'm not sure about what they plan to do, or whether their game plans to end when the Forgotten comes back, or what. So I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I have some thoughts, but I'm not publicizing them widely... if you want to know, ask over E-mail.

Wow, for being a little cartoon character, this looks remarkably like me... :)

Nice, huh? :) The black background unfortunately obscures where I made this nifty little thing at... it's here.

The score thus far:

Death: ScaryWhiteGirl, Mander, Old Man, Seth, Benny
Destiny: SonofaBritsch, Finn
Dream: Rafe

Clearly this means that Rafe is a freak, and that the SonofaBritsch and Finn were twins, separated at birth... and the rest of us are normal, or at least pass for normal... ;)

I am totally wishing it was 4:30 already... it feels like I've been at work for at least 4-5 hours already, when it's really not even two... *grumble*... having allergies or a cold isn't helping matters any... :(

I'm Death!
Which Member of the Endless Are You?

I knew it! I knew it! I knew it! :)

Okay, so I will admit, it was REALLY easy to figure out who you were going to be on this test... but I did take it as honestly as I possibly could! Black _is_ my favorite color, and umbrellas and ankhs are quite nice... :)

And to be perfectly honest, I wanted the test to come up as Delirium... ;)

Well, let's see here.

Morgan survived the Elysium raid! :) She didn't get to get in on much of the action, unfortunately... the Cammies ran like scared little girls as soon as we ran the "armor plated" car through the front door... well, that was after their Tremere threw some fire around, and caused a handful of the Sabbat to Rotschreck... which, unfortunately for the members of one pack, meant death...

So here is my tribute to Arthur/Mal/Enoch... :) The person who taught me my first level of Rituals (in exchange for Potence!), and then proceeded to scare the hell out of me for a while (and piss me off when the Malkavians were speaking gibberish on the message board!), before dropping off into torpor (which pissed me off to no end, cuz that was when I needed him!), and then coming back to scare us all a little bit more... and now he's dead, at the hands of his pack. I have to admit, when I heard them say "now we've gotta go kill Enoch," I laughed, cuz I figured he'd do a heck of a lot more damage to them mentally than they could do to him physically... but maybe not! At any rate, thanks, SonofaBritsch, for one of the coolest characters I've ever seen! I miss him already, and even Morgan will miss him, in her lack-of-emotion sorta way! :)

Watched Farscape with Jim after game, and was thoroughly confused... maybe it would have helped if I had watched that show more than once or twice... or if it hadn't been 1 a.m. before we even started watching it... :)

Interestingly enough, I went to the Forgotten on Saturday (after a nice long nap!), and got to be on the receiving end of the Elysium raid... sorta... being Ravnos (and most of the game not knowing what a Ravnos is), Dani gets lumped in with the Malkavians cuz she's kinda wacky... so when the city goes into combat, the Malkavians and Ravnos usually get sent somewhere out of the way. So this time, when everyone else goes into combat, Dani is sitting in her car with Roman outside, and Magdalena, who had gone Astral, slumped over in the back seat... within less than a few minutes, she had seven people, including herself, in the car, and was driving all over the area to drop people off at safe places... and because of an offer from D (who is Dani's hero!), Dani is now living in the sewers... ugh! That's the really condensed version of what happened... suffice it to say, it's not exactly pretty!

Megan and Macke came down last night, and we got some more details worked out for my game this fall. Looks like we're going to do all Tremere, but keep it in New Orleans. I'm REALLY liking this idea. We were having way too many problems deciding which clans best fit my game, and which clans out of those could actually work together, until I finally got everyone to say that they would just play Tremere! :) BTW, Seth, good idea on naming the individual chapters of your story! I've done that in the past, but I usually do so after the fact... every once in a while, I'll know the name of the chapter before I get started, but it's much more likely that I don't! :) Then again, I've only recently started naming my chronicles! :)

That's all for now, more later! :)

Fifty word fiction looks like fun... now if I could only think of something to write about...

Which reminds me... thanks to those who gave advice on how to write the combat in the latest Morgan story... no, I haven't gotten around to doing it... but I will, soon... I hope...

Less than three hours left of work, and I've cleared off my desk almost completely. There are a couple of things on it that I _could_ do, but only at the risk of giving myself a big headache... not exactly something that I want when I'm going to be driving for 2 hours after work! So yes, I am killing time, again. Go me! :)

Pondering whether or not I'm going to feel up to playing Dani tomorrow night... Dani requires a great deal of meaningless energy, and I'm not entirely sure whether I'm going to have that tomorrow or not. Sometimes I'm able to feed off of the meaningless energy that the Malkavians throw out, but that doesn't always work... that, and Dani as she currently stands is beginning to grow a bit stale. I'm thinking it's time for a change... not of what character I'm playing (I'm on my 5th character in this game, and only one died!), but just a change within the character... yes, definitely pondering doing _something_!

Well, I'm pondering a lot of things at the moment, in reality. Nothing that I can mention here, at the moment... game stuff and the like... I will say, however, that I think I'm getting back into the Vampire groove... the New Orleans game, which won't even begin till late July or August (and doesn't have a name at the moment), is chugging along smoothly. I'm SOOOOO looking forward to getting to run Vampire TT again! :)

Well, the Friday Five appears to be MIA once again... except this time, I can't even access the webpage! But I do have "End of the Work Week Wisdom"...

"My doctor said I have a Malformed Public Duty gland, and that I am severely lacking in moral fiber. Therefore, I am exempt from saving the universe today."
--I know it's from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe, and I'm thinking it's Arthur Dent that said it... and if I'm wrong, I'm sure the SonofaBritsch will correct me... :)

Other than that, I'm actually going to be somewhat busy at work today, since I'm working through my usual lunch break so that I can leave an hour early... I want to get to Broken Sword as early as I can... we're raiding Elysium tonight! :)

It's kinda odd... over the winter, the Old Man used to tease me because every time there was Broken Sword on Friday, I would spend most of the Thursday before saying that Morgan was gonna die... I was convinced that one of the other PCs in the game would find something about me that they found reprehensible, and would take it upon themselves to take me out of the picture. Obviously, that never happened! Now, with the raid on Elysium, there is a pretty good chance that Morgan will go down, and I'm not really all that worried about it!

I think it has something to do with the fact that the chronicle is (probably) drawing to a close really soon. I've never actually been in this position before, as a player. All of the other LARP chronicles that I've taken part in have died horrible deaths... like ALL of the players simply stop showing up... or the STs give up, take their toys, and go home... in fact, in the four years in which I've been LARPing, my own year-long chronicle was the only one that had a "happy" ending, and there is only one game that has lasted for more than a single academic year! So I've never really been in a chronicle that was going to come to a close and be left behind... as such, I'm not really sure as to whether I should try to be one of the few survivors, or whether I should go out in a blaze of glory... I'm more inclined towards the blaze of glory route, but only if it makes for a good story... running in and fighting the Cammies with my bare hands until they take me out is a lot less appealing than being sneaky with hit and run tactics until I get caught... :)

A while ago, I was thinking about the characters that are currently in the game, and how long they've all been around, and how long I've been around. I started playing in Broken Sword in February of 2001. With the exception of the month I missed last year (March), because I was moving into my house, and the month I skipped this year (April), because Morgan was in St. Charles, I'm like the only character that has stayed in the city for that entire time... the Archbishop, Lucent, and James went to New York City, Akasha went to Mexico City, Ja'Dan was not himself for a while, Wilhelm / Bill was MIA for a while, Arthur / Mal / Enoch was in torpor for a while, etc., etc., etc... so although there are older characters than Morgan, it feels like she's been there longer than anyone else... at least to me!

So she's my longest running LARP character, and she's really developed over the time in which I've played her. But I'm willing to let her go, as long as it makes for a good story... so if this is Morgan's eulogy, so be it... just as long as I've got a good story to put here on Monday morning! :)

Due to popular demand, I've added Quotes from Fury for the Forsaken to the page... I'll keep updating them as quick as people send me stuff to go there! :) (Ummm... post it on the message board, or E-mail it to me...)

Now if only I could find the quotes from last year...

Well, according to this test, I act like I'm 20. Now, for those who know me, anybody think that's a bit over-estimated? ;) Any rate, I'm not entirely sure that I answered all of the questions correctly, because I have no clue what a "roundabout" is... I'm thinking it must be a British thing, but who knows... :)

I think I'm getting somewhere on my upcoming Vampire chronicle... I guess I never _really_ got opinions from certain of my players (*ahem*), but I've decided to go with the New Orleans game. Heavy on the "wooj" and investigation, but politics and other Cammie type stuff can still play a role in such a setting. So I played around with numbers of NPCs last night, and I think I have the city to a managable level... nope, no hordes of NPCs for me this time... :)

I've only kept a handful of the NPCs from New Orleans by Night, and another chunk from the online version of New Orleans, which one of my old players showed me a long time ago (long enough ago that I don't even know the URL anymore!). The rest are ones that I've thrown in for the purpose of the story that I'm intending to tell... and then the PCs will round out that bunch...

More on this later, perhaps...

Oh, and I forgot to mention it the other day... when my pack ran to Wal-Mart (just for the hell of it, really) in Sparta, I found a Spider-Man web shooter... so D.J. put it on the top shelf for me, so that no one would buy it... and I went back there on my way home, and got it! :) So now I have a web shooter... it's big and bulky, and I really don't see how a small child could play with it... BUT... it has an attachment that turns it into a water gun... so add another one to my small arsenal... 4 pistol sized squirt guns, one really big one, and a web shooter water gun... w00t! :)

My right eyelid keeps doing this twitchy thing, and it's quite annoying... I remember one night when the SonofaBritsch was bitching about his eyelid doing the same thing, and I was amused... sorry bout that, I feel your pain... now, at least! :)

In other exciting news of my terribly exciting life: in the ongoing effort to prove that Mander and I are not the same person, I got my hair cut, and dyed it red again... crap, I just realized that Mander dyed her hair red too... ah well... :) There is not really an ongoing effort to prove that we aren't the same person... it's just that both of us find it amusing, yet a little bit disturbing, that people have a tendency to confuse the two of us. Usually it's been mostly innocent mistakes, like people who don't know us very well, or aren't paying attention, will get us confused... but the latest one, my sister walking up behind Mander and calling her Dawn, was a bit disturbing! :) Fortunately, I don't think that either Lufcy or the Old Man has gotten us confused... :)

Well now... these are rather amusing... :)

Long long long weekend... C-Dale Garou on Friday was mostly productive... at least I came up with the best idea for the caern's new totem... now it's just a matter of seeing whether or not said totem will take us! :)

Fury was great as always... the only downside was the insanely high temperatures, making everyone kinda grumpy. Then we started game around 5ish, and didn't wrap up till 2:30 a.m. Geez... are we hardcore or what? :) I was in an odd position though, since I was technically the ST in charge at the normal game site (2 STs having gone off-site for the cubs Rite of Passage), but still had my NPC to play... luckily, things went pretty smoothly! :)

Oh, and for those following the ongoing saga of "Hell in the Workplace" (a.k.a. no AC in the library), it's back on!!!!! My office is cool!!!! :)
