Random ramblings cuz I have nothing better to do... or something... :)
This is the site formerly known as Anneke's Haven. Within, you will find information about my previous White Wolf chronicles, and other random gaming related stuff. I also have a blog here, where I talk about pretty much everything and anything, though it's primarily about my exciting life... the definition of exciting definitely being up for debate.
Enjoy your visit, and come back soon!
Day 3 of the ScaryWhiteGirl's vacation is getting close to the end. My major accomplishment for the day: I am now the proud owner of a cell phone! I feel all trendy and stuff! I've been sitting around entertaining my friends by playing with it, and giggling like a schoolgirl when I find something nifty. At the moment, it plays "Ride of the Valkyries" when it rings... sweet... :)
No, I'm not posting the number here. Cuz most of the people I would want to call me won't, and the people who I don't want to call me will. Yeah, that made sense to me... :)
Now we're just awaiting the arrival of two new players for Southern Lights, and then we get to play. w00t! :) I'll update that page sooner or later... probably next week... :)
Day 2 of the ScaryWhiteGirl's vacation. Lots and lots of shopping with Megan, which was lots of fun, but very tiring. And the Saturn is all better now... yay! :)
Not a whole lot else to say at the moment. Just keeping my readers all updated and stuff... :)
Day 1 of the ScaryWhiteGirl's vacation is passing with minimal incident. The new water heater is being installed as I type. w00t! Hot water is a glorious thing! I'm just glad I already had this week off of work! :)
Not a whole lot going on other than that. Just chilling online and maybe gonna read in a bit.
Well, kick in emergency was AWESOME! :) They did a cover of Lovesong, by the Cure, so they're definitely cool in my book! :) Also got to hang out with gwarocks, which is great, cuz I never see my E-ville area folks anymore... I miss you guys!
Now the stupid water heater here is being retarded and leaking everywhere... joy. No water in the house, because of that... joy...
1. How long have you had a weblog? February, 2002, right before I was leaving for my trip to N'arlins.
2. What was your first post about? Something along the lines of being such a follower, now that I had a weblog... :)
3. How many changes (name, location, etc.) of your weblog have there been, if more than one? Really I only changed the name of my site from Anneke's Haven to ScaryWhiteGirl.net, which seemed more appropriate, seeing as that's the domain name... :)
4. What CMS (content management system) do you use? Do you like it or do you want to try something else? I just use the default thingie that Blogger comes with, but after all the problems that Assie and I had with that over the past couple of weeks, I'm half tempted to find another one.
5. Do you read people who have both a journal and a weblog? Or do you prefer to read people who have all of their writing in one central place? A couple of people that I read have both, but most are going to one or the other. That's kewl with me, cuz it's less that I have to read! :)
::..::
"End of the Work Week Wisdom"...
"Oh... oh... if she even starts making out with him... oh..." --Ian or Robert (both, really), expressing their unhappiness with a part of The Royal Tenenbaums.
Good movie, BTW! :)
::..::
And I started reading American Gods this morning, as I finished Neverwhere yesterday. I've got my reading schedule for probably the rest of the year all planned out... :)
After a very long time without getting to see any concerts, it looks like the ScaryWhiteGirl is back in the concert-going world! :) I'm going to go see kick in emergency on Friday night, hopefully with gwarocks and the illustrious Gabby making the excursion down to C-dale to see them as well! w00t! :)
And I get to see They Might Be Giants (spelled out for Assie's benefit) on August 1st, up in St. Louis. double w00t! This will be the 7th time I've seen them... should be fun! :)
You know, I realized late yesterday afternoon that I'm retarded... the song that I was thinking of (in the previous entry) is actually called "O! What a Dream it Was"... which would match with the lyrics of the song... duh... :) And it's by Future Bible Heroes, if anyone cares... :) Yeah, I know... me and my bizarre goth compilations... ;)
Speaking of which, I found the KEWLEST goth box set on Saturday. 10 CDs, and it was only $45 at CD Warehouse. But I flipped over the box to see what it had included. Turns out, I already have the first 6 CDs of the set, because they were released in 2 sets of 3 previously. I'm sad, though, because the final four CDs have 2 Lucyfix songs that I've never heard before... and I've had NO luck finding anything else by Lucyfix (or The Morgans, which seems to be another name they went under for a while). So I guess I just gotta keep looking!
And because the quote on my calendar today is from The Usual Suspects ("The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist."), I have an Aphrodite song that used that quote stuck in my head... *sigh*...
A list from Mander's page, so that all of the slackers I know... I mean my friends... will have something to read while they're at work... ;)
1. What's on your bedside table?
My alarm clock, the case for the 12 Tales CD that's in the CD player of my alarm clock, and some candy. Don't really know why that's still there...
2. What's the geekiest part of your music collection?
Ummm... would that be my Tommy Page tapes, or my Space Ghost CDs? :)
3. What do you eat when you raid the fridge at night?
Probably ice cream, if I were to raid the fridge at night... don't do that much though, cuz I never like what food is around the house... :)
4. What is your secret guaranteed weeping film?
There are a couple of parts of Gladiator that make me cry, but I don't have any movies that are definitely gonna make me cry. It all depends on my mood, really...
5. If you could have plastic surgery, what would you have done?
I wouldn't. Unless having some of my moles removed would count as plastic surgery. That's about all I'd want to have done.
6. Do you have a completely irrational fear?
Yes, of birds. No, I've never seen the movie.
7. What is the little physical habit that gives away your insecure moments?
When my hair was longer, it would definitely be messing with my hair in some way... now that it's so short, I'm not sure.
8. Do you ever have to beg?
I try not to.
9. Do you have too many love interests?
Nope.
10. Do you know anyone famous?
Nope.
11. Describe your bed:
I just got the KEWLEST new sheets, so I'm all excited about that... they're the kind that feel like they're made out of T-shirt material... and the pattern I got is all celestial (like suns and moons and stars)... they're so nifty, I'm half inclined to rearrange some of my knick-knacks so that I can put the celestial candle holders in my room...
12. Spontaneous or plan?
I have a tendency to plan quite a bit, but I usually am willing to toss the plans out of the way if something comes up...
13. Who should play you in a movie about your life?
Winona Ryder. Well, at least the late 80s-early 90s Winona... she's gotten all weird lately...
14. Do you know how to play poker?
Kinda... I suck at it... :)
15. What do you carry with you at all times?
Wallet, keys, usually my bag (which contains 3 notebooks, my planner book, an umbrella, and whatever else I throw in there before I leave)...
16. How do you drive?
"Like a bat out of hell" is my frequent assessment of my driving... ;)
17. What do you miss most about being little?
The fact that life was easy then
18. Are you happy with your given name?
Could be worse, I suppose. I always wanted a name that I could shorten though...
19. What color is your bedroom?
White, with off white carpet
20. What was the last song you were listening to?
Ummm... there were probably some songs on the radio when Megan and I ran to the bank today, but the last song I remember hearing was "O What a Day it Was" (I can't remember who sings it) which I fell asleep to...
21. Have you ever been in a school play?
Yup, in high school, way back in the day.
22. Have you ever been in love?
Yup.
23. Do you like yourself and believe in yourself?
Yup.
24. Have you ever done any illegal drugs?
Nope!
25. Do you think you're cute?
Yup.
26. Do you consider yourself to be a nice person?
Yup.
Right, sorry for the extended silence. Just a little post to let you all know that I'm still alive. There is a lot of stuff going on in my life at the moment, which I don't feel the need to discuss here. Maybe later, when the waters have cleared a bit. If you feel an overwhelming need for details, E-mail me. I'll respond if I think that it's a good idea for me to do so. Otherwise, have patience.
This is not to say that I won't be posting anything here. Simply forgive me for what may seem to be inane chatter about things of little significance. I'm sure my awesome content (*laugh*) will return soon enough!
Southern Lights (Exalted) last night was AWESOME! :) Granted, my character is getting all kinds of fucked with, but it's fun... I really like the fact that everyone in the game has deep backstories, and that those backstories have been worked into the plot of the game... :) And I got an extra XP last night for spending a few minutes writing up the names, occupations, and family relationships of my 25 followers... ;) Nice... :)
Got some really exciting, kewl news last night before the game... but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say anything about it yet... will find out for sure tonight, and post it when I can... ;)
In other news, Megan is coming down tonight with a "ton" of her stuff... she's gonna be down fairly late, unfortunately, which is extra unfortunate due to the fact that I'm soooo tired right now... I'm thinking I won't be at work all day... must get more sleep!
Lots of good stuff going through my head for "Angels Laugh," which is the name of my upcoming all-Tremere chronicle, set in New Orleans. I'm planning to work up a page for it either this week or next, because there is a lot of information my players are going to need before the game begins... I've already started plotting some neat stuff... and as soon as I learn a little more about everyone's characters, I'll be in full blown plotting mode... ;) Muhahahah... ;)
I wonder if blogs are just getting so popular that everyone is starting to have problems with theirs? *sigh*... I guess there is such a thing as too much of a good thing... :)
Still a couple more hours of work today, and I really wish that wasn't the case... I've got some stuff I could be working on, but it's not very interesting... *sigh*...
Well, it's yet another Wednesday. Exalted tonight! I would like to take this opportunity to tell all of the gamers who read my blog: if you haven't tried Exalted yet, give it a try. It's a LOT of fun!
ST meeting for Garou went nicely. The brainstorming powers of 8 people are quite frightening at times... :) And, to add in my usual taunt. Hey players in Fury! Muhahahahaha... ;)
It seems like I've been really busy lately, but I guess it's actually that I haven't been home a whole lot. So I haven't gotten some stuff done that I probably should be working on... *sigh*... why can't there be more hours in the day?
This is mostly a test post, cuz I'm testing out a theory that I have...
We are a test post... there is nothing to see here... please move along... ;)
Dammit... is anyone other than Assie and I having trouble with publishing their page? Like getting error messages about their template not being found or something like that?
Argh... I just found out that They Might Be Giants are playing at The Pageant (in St. Louis) on August 1st... I'm actually off work that entire week, cuz it's when Megan is moving down... and I know she'd love to go see them also... but I just dunno if I wanna make the drive to St. Louis and back, cuz I'd have to come back THAT NIGHT so that the Old Man can get to work on Friday morning...
The Old Man isn't feeling well today. I'm sure he'd appreciate some get well comments from those who know him... :)
Not a whole lot going on. I'm really happy about the fact that the Forgotten is coming back this Saturday... it'll be weird, getting back into the swing of playing Dani... she takes a lot out of me if I'm not in the right mindset! But seeing as that's the only LARP I'm currently _really_ playing in, I should have the energy to do it... :)
Garou ST meeting tonight... hoping that we'll be able to get stuff done... there's gonna be a lot of people at the meetings, now that we expanded the staff to 9 (!) people! But I think that's probably for the best...
Here's something absolutely bizarre... the ScaryWhiteGirl, queen of gaming, did not get to roleplay all weekend.
We decided against Werewolf on Friday night, partly because it had rained throughout the day, and partly because I wasn't in much of a mood to actually do anything... and in a game that needs the players to be pro-active, it seemed dumb for me to go there and wait for something to happen that I was interested in pursuing... :) Then Saturday was maybe going to be Forgotten, but there was no one at the Student Center... it's restarting _this_ Saturday... :) Well, anyway, by the time we got back to my house, it was close to 8 p.m.... we had missed Rafe by like an hour (sorry bout that!), and I didn't really want to run something for Random Patterns that might not get concluded, ever... so we watched Iron Chef instead... :)
It felt really weird on Sunday, that I hadn't gotten to roleplay at all... maybe that's why Gabe and I were going through like EVERY book on my White Wolf bookshelf... had to do SOMETHING game related, right? :)
I've been posting this everywhere. Please help Jen and Steve...this is an email I recieved from Erin today...
"I talked with Rachel on my lunch break. She said that the fire started in Steve's bedroom (the main room I guess) which was where most everything they owned was kept. Everything hanging in the closet was destroyed, the TV, VCR, DVD, Computer, furniture, feret....everything. The only stuff in the bedroom that was not destroyed was some clothes in the drawers. Jenny's shoes were ok, and some of Steve's pants.....but sadly Jenny lost all of her dresses and Steve lost all of his shirts.
Tonight at OWbN Brandy will be collecting anything anyone can spare for them. Money, spare shirts and pants you can live without, gift certificates from Walmart, anything really to help them get back on their feet. Then Rachel will be meeting us at Denny's tonight to take the stuff to Steve and Jenny."
I know that a lot of people who read this don't know Steve and Jenny, but for those who do know them, if there's any way that you can help, please do. I won't be making the trek up to E-ville tonight, but we're going to do everything we can from down here to try to help them out.
Steve and Jenny, I dunno if you read this or not, but all my thoughts are with you both at the moment. You guys are like family to me. Let me know if there is ANYTHING that I can do. All my love, Dawn
There's a can of Mountain Dew on my desk, and I've already had a couple of sips of it... yeah, it's waking me up alright! I figure if I'm going to drink something with caffeine in it, it would be better if it's not cola or otherwise brown soda... but I wish it didn't have to be Dew... that's a bit more caffeine than little ole me should be drinking... so it's gonna come back to haunt me (with a nasty caffeine headache) probably tomorrow or Sunday...
That, and it tastes nasty! I dunno how the Son of a Britsch can drink it all the time... YUCK!
But I kinda had to... I'm working on stuff today that I should be flying through... like, it could practically be done already, if my brain was functioning correctly... but instead, it's like... oh, look... pile of stuff on my desk... what was I doing with that again?
Looks like no new Friday Five this week... ah well...
The "End of the Work Week Wisdom"...
"Have been unexpectedly detained by the world. Expect us when you see us." --a note in Stardust by Neil Gaiman
I just like that... :)
In other news, it's frickin' cold in the library today! It's usually cold here, but it seems colder today... I'm also either REALLY tired, or that whole allergy thing is kicking my ass again... I'm not as fuzzy headed as I was on Monday, but I'm not exactly thinking completely coherently either... I'm sure I'll be better later.
C-Dale Garou tonight, maybe... if it's still raining or if it rains for most of the day, I'm thinking that we won't go to game. Playing outside in the rain is not my idea of a good time... :)
Forgotten tomorrow night, maybe. One of the STs told us that there is game tomorrow. One player told us that he heard from a 2nd ST that it won't restart till next week, at the earliest. A 3rd ST said that there was game... but that he read that on my webpage... :) So I'm all set up and ready to go to that game tomorrow night, but if it's not going on, then maybe another installment of Random Patterns... maybe...
This weekend seems to be all about maybe... but that's just the gaming portion of the weekend... other than that, my plans are pretty much set... which is good! :)
Okay, this is annoying... I've gotten two phone calls in the past five minutes, where I can hear someone talking, faintly, but it's not like they're talking to me... and they don't respond when I say Hello... weird...
Just finished the page for Southern Lights. Okay, so the color isn't the greatest, but I'm going for some sunny type color... and trust me, the PURE yellow that I had at first was FAR worse... :)
Exalted last night was pretty awesome, especially my "sexy" bow shot... I dunno, the guys thought it was neat when I shot two arrows off my bow at the same time, and, because of the way that I was positioned, they appeared to come from either side of Dariel's (Gabe's character's) head... :) Anyways, I'm gonna make a page for the game later on... I think the Old Man decided on "Southern Lights" for the chronicle name... nice... :)
Seven things that scare you: Falling, Going to the dentist, Birds (don't ask), Driving in the snow, the second floor of my Grandma's old house, Rejection, Pain
Seven things you love: My friends, Sleep, Music, Gaming, Writing, Warm rain, My "nest chair" (pappasan)
Seven things you hate: Liars, People being fake, Stupid drama, Hangovers, Being sick, Feeling trapped, Losing friends
Seven things in your room: Maddie (my favorite stuffed cat), Poster of Death, 12 Tales CD, alarm clock, clothes (lots of 'em!), shoes (yup, lots of those too!), and... oh yeah... my BED!
Seven random facts about you: I claim my confirmation name (Elizabeth) as a second middle name
My eyes have been known to turn green(ish) when I cry
I've never read all of the Lord of the Rings books
I could read when I was 3 years old
I've been in school almost consistently since I was 4 years old
Very few people believe me when I tell them how old I am
I've never been out of the United States
Seven things you plan to do before you die: Visit another country, Visit my relatives in South Carolina, Publish something that I've written (as opposed to edited), Get the side yard on my house turned into a patio, Actually learn how to play the guitar decently, Read the Lord of the Rings books, Have purple hair (at least for one day!)
Seven things you can do: Program HTML, Storytell Vampire and other World of Darkness games, Write passable fiction, Cook some damn good stir fry, Drink tequila without flinching, Drive a stick shift, and Amuse the hell out of people with my crazy stories... :)
(Had to edit part of the list to make it easier to read...)
Hmmm... not a whole lot to say at the moment... the Old Man's Exalted game starts tonight... should be fun... I want to find a picture of what my character looks like when she's all dressed up, though... cuz it's gonna be kinda hard to imagine me playing a character that only has her eyes visible... :)
I guess my comments have been flaky for the past couple of days, which is why I haven't gotten very many... either that, or no one loves me... *sniffle*... this is my shameless plug to get people to comment on my page... I know, I'm pathetic... :)
Still trying to work out my plans for the weekend... the Forgotten _should_ be back on Saturday, but I haven't gotten actual ST confirmation on that yet... you would think they would tell their beloved narrator (and LARP Marm) when things are going on... but I didn't even know the game was going on hiatus until the players found out... yeah...
Well, I finally broke down and took the IQ test... I got a 146, which I'm pretty happy with... it still qualifies as gifted! :)
The story goes, however, that when I was 3 years old, my parents had me take an IQ test... they knew I was smart, and wanted to see if I could start school early... I got something like a 180... and they told my mom that my score was likely to get higher. She wouldn't tell me what my score was till a couple of years ago... she was afraid it would give me a big ego or something... :)
(You have to pick out of the list of quizzes to get this one... and it's called "Cute Creature Quiz" I think...)
Spent the better part of yesterday thinking about and working on a comic that Gabe is drawing and I'm helping to write... hopefully it'll be ready to be scanned and posted in a couple more days... suffice it to say, it's really wrong... but this is what you get when someone has entirely too much free time, and another someone has entirely too much of a twisted imagination... :)
*sigh*... at home today, once again, cuz of my stupid allergies... I suppose that one of these days I ought to find out what I'm actually allergic to, so that I can deal with them a little bit better...
Didn't really say much about the weekend yet, so here goes... :)
Friday was C-Dale Garou... nothing happened, pretty much... the Old Man, who is an ST in that game, had me take him home early... and after I went back, there still wasn't much going on... so I left early too, to take Gabe home... I love my character in that game, but I've only gotten to do what she's good at (breaking and entering, which is why her Garou name is "Isabel Inside") once... and other than that, she doesn't have much to do... it's not that she's a one-trick pony or anything, just that she's not a typical Garou war machine, so she picks her battles when she has the option to do so! :)
Saturday was Fury, which is always a good time... the weather turned out much nicer than expected, and I didn't melt completely... :) The feast was GREAT, specially cuz Macke brought dump cake... and I LOVE dump cake... :) Had to supervise a small combat (which wasn't really expected), and that went well enough! :) And Wolfscar's death scene went incredibly smoothly, much better than I had expected... I was afraid that the timing might get messed up, but it didn't! :) So lots of really kewl, really intense roleplaying... and Megan, Brad, and I were able to decipher the scrawled story that Wolfscar wrote about his pack, so I could finish it... and I guess take over as Talesinger as well... :)
Watched Interview with a Vampire last night... for about the 20th time or so... :) Gotta love a movie with Christian Slater AND Brad Pitt AND Antonio Banderas... so many hotties... :)
Okay, I've been writing at this for long enuf, time to post...
Being off work on Friday + being lazy = Friday Five on a Saturday... ah well... :)
1. Where are you right now? At my computer, in the basement.
2. What have you lost recently? Well, if I knew what I had lost, I might know where to find it. I'm pretty sure that I've lost some of the notes for the Garou game, but I won't realize that until I get to game and someone asks me about something that I don't have... :)
3. What was the first CD you ever purchased? Does that embarrass you now? "The Downward Spiral" by Nine Inch Nails. (For real, because I didn't have a CD player for a long time!) And I still listen to it, on occasion, though it's not my favorite NIN album.
4. What is your favorite kind of writing pen? Gel pens, or anything that has a rollerball... normal ballpoint pens and I don't get along!
5. What is your favorite ice cream flavor? I'm more of a fan of sherbert (pineapple, to be specific), but I'm also a sucker for chocolate chip cookie dough and cookies and cream... :)
::..::
And I should have done the "End of the Work Week Wisdom" on Wednesday, seeing as that was the end of MY work week... but only working 2 days in a week has a tendency to kinda confuse ones schedule. So, without further ado, the "If I Had Worked All Week, This Would Have Been Wise... or Something... Wisdom"... ;)
"There's rosemary, that's for remembrance; ... and there is pansies, that's for thoughts." --Ophelia, in Hamlet, Act 4, scene 5
Oh, duh... I forgot to say anything about the PPG movie! :) I loved it, of course! :) Yes, it's silly, and it's pretty much just a long episode, but the animation is a lot more impressive than what they usually have on TV... and there's a couple of really good jokes for the grown-ups...
Gotta blog, even though I'm not at work... four day weekends rock! :)
Not a whole lot going on, of course... everyone slept in till 10, and then we got up to make brunch... yummy! :) I made bacon and barely burned myself (and everyone else around me)... go me! :) It's funny that we actually bother to get up and cook when there's lots of people around... that's not entirely a bad thing, just funny... :)
Barbequing later, and then hopefully being able to watch the fireworks from our yard... cuz we're lazy and don't wanna fight the crowds (and mosquitoes, etc.)... :)
Another weird dream last night... let's see what I can remember of it...
Apparently I was working at some type of fast food place... initially it was a taco place, but eventually it was also a pizza place, and then a Quizno's... (hmm... anybody think I was a little hungry while I was sleeping?)... I have NO idea why I was working there... but at some point, I was talking to one of the other employees, and a group of guys walked in... among this group was Bradzerker, Rafe, and this guy Bob that I went to high school with... and somehow they all knew each other (which they don't) and were there taking a break from some game that they were all playing.
Then it gets a lot fuzzier, but I remember later finding out that the people who came in weren't ACTUALLY the people I thought they were, but aliens posing as those people... or something bizarre like that... which made sense, as I thought about it in my dream, cuz Bob didn't look quite right, and didn't recognize me at first...
Yeah, okay, that one was pretty messed up. :)
Garou meeting last night went well, and didn't last forever this time... :) And today is my last day of work for the week... w00t! :) I get to go see PPG tonight, though not with my girlies... :( Just checked the showtimes... 5:30... w00t! :)
Feelng mostly better now... which is good! :) Gotta get completely over this headache, though... otherwise I'll be useless at the Garou meeting tonight... and that would be bad!
Looks like the minions and I will be seeing the PPG movie in C-dale instead of C-ville... which is a big bummer, cuz I miss my girlies, but I won't mind missing out on the long drive to get there... and I remember when I used to call that a short drive... :)
Ugh... my stupid hair is being fully retarded today... I thought I had two barrettes in my bag, but one has escaped... which means I have to deal with my hair falling in my eyes ALL DAY LONG... *grumble*...
It probably doesn't help matters much that I've had a headache since I woke up, and it doesn't seem to want to leave me alone... if it weren't for the fact that I am only working today and tomorrow this week, I'd probably go home right now... well, at least after I finished a few things at work... sometimes my sense of responsibility gets the better of me...
Despite my bitching, however, I'm actually in a relatively good mood today. Yesterday was a fairly long day... I dragged Gabe to the Saturn dealership with me, so that I wouldn't be bored while they were looking at my car... turns out that was a VERY good idea, seeing as it took them nearly three and a half hours to look at my car, tell me that there were a couple of things I should get done right away, and a few more that I should get done either then or soon thereafter, and then actually _do_ the couple of things. As things go, it was only cuz I went to ask about my car that I was able to get out of there _before_ 4:30 (which is the time at which we needed to pick up the Old Man and Ron)!
Watched Moulin Rouge last night, and I have to say that I was impressed. I kinda wanted to see it when it came out, but I heard a lot of mixed opinions on it. But we were listening to part of the soundtrack on Sunday night, so I decided I had to see it. The Old Man and Ron, of course, were against it... :) Well, it's awesome... :) Ewan McGregor has an amazingly good singing voice, and he's just so darn cute! :)
PPG opens tomorrow night! Which reminds me that I still dunno where I'm meeting Assie and Mander with my minions... I mean friends... :) Should probably get that squared away before too long! :)
Ahh... a well-deserved day off... :) It's only 9:30 a.m., though, and I'm already not sure what to do with the rest of my morning... had to run the Old Man to work this morning, and then I came home and mopped the upstairs bathroom and kitchen... I hate mopping, but it needed to be done... now I just have to run Ron to school at 11, and take the car to the Saturn dealership at 1, so it can get its "check-up"... I'm crossing my fingers that they won't find anything majorly wrong with it. But seeing as it's been running just fine since we got a new battery, I can't imagine there will be much wrong with it! :)
C-Dale Garou was pretty good, just VERY hot out... and it looks like the messed-up little GlassWalker has found herself a pack that she likes... "four Injuns and a coupla pale-faces"... :) It should work well, though, cuz it's people who are pretty consistently at game, and good roleplayers as well! :)
Random Patterns went well on Saturday night... we got through the plot that I had planned, and even got the Old Man's character introduced to the pack. I'm not entirely pleased with the way the plot ran, but I totally blame myself for that fact. I was running a semi-recycled plot... that was actually more recycled than I even like to admit! And I'm kinda wondering if part of the problem is that I'm trying to run a MUCH smaller game than what I'm used to. I mean, I used to run for up to 12 players at a time, though most of my games were between 4 and 6 players. Now I've had 2-3 for every session... and it's weird! But hopefully it will get better from here on out... I've got some kewl ideas, and hopefully they'll run a little more smoothly...
And I've been thinking a little bit more about the all-Tremere game scheduled for this fall. I'm up to 5 players now, so sorry, the boat is full. If you're playing in the game, you know who you are... :) From the way things are looking at the moment, you all better be studying up on your "assigned" religions... and if you don't have one yet, ask... :)
That's about it on the gaming front at the moment... Fury ST meeting tomorrow night, and then game on Saturday... w00t! :)
In non-gaming related news, Mander seems to have taken it upon herself to corrupt me to the dark side of the evil empire, and make me read and/or watch Harry Potter. I will not be zombiefied... I will not cave in... I will fight the evil empire with my own, equally evil empire... except that my army is comprised of evil attack kittens... >;)
And if you don't understand that reference, it's probably for your own good... :)
