As is usually the case, most of the searches that found my site involved scary stuff... I imagine that will slack off after today, or this weekend at the latest... but there were a couple of interesting searches:

"friday night home bored" - wow... hopefully my page was entertaining to this poor searcher...
"Halloween w00t" - hehehe... gee, I guess I do say w00t on here a lot... :)
"goth wisdom" - hehehehe... ummm... my goth wisdom for today is that liquid eyeliner may be useful for drawing lines on your face, but it invariably gets very stiff and then you can't smile... oh wait, this is goth wisdom, and goths aren't allowed to smile... my bad... :)
"find a drivers license" - I'm a little confused about what they were searching for here... did they think my driver's license would just be sitting on my site, waiting to be borrowed? How does that work? I'm really confused...

And that's about it... :)

Happy Halloween!!!!

So I copped out on the costume thing, and dressed up as Death from the Sandman comics... mainly because I already had all of the stuff I needed just lying around... so it's my old Morgan costume... ah well! :) This is basically what it looks like:

Except my hair is short now... :)

Oh, and because it's cold, I'm wearing a sweater over my costume... *sigh*...

It's all quiet in the office at the moment, as I'm the only one here so far... my boss and one of the other editors are in D.C. for the rest of the week and weekend... so it's me and another editor, and whatever students and grad students decide to straggle in... and I've only got a half day tomorrow... w00t! :) Guess I should find something productive to do, though, or I'm gonna be REALLY bored today... :)

Humpday Hump!

Act VI Scene I: *You are such a good friend that you are helping me clean my house. I love you man.*
Quiet on the set!! Roll tape..... and....ACTION!!

Christy: I hate the actual job of cleaning because I look around and get overwhelmed. But if I can remember to start at the main doorway of a room and go counterclockwise cleaning only as I go around then I can tackle it fairly well. Also cleaning from top to bottom is a must. You have any tips, tricks or secrets you can share?
You: Hmmm... I think my main secret is to live somewhere small enough that you can clean the whole place in one day, if you have to... that's what I do, at least... there's five rooms in my apartment, and I can get them all done on a Sunday afternoon... no carpet is a plus too! :)

Christy: My least favorite chore to do is cleaning the dishes. I even have a dishwasher and I just hate it. Also cleaning out the tub mainly because my big ole boobies make that a very uncomfortable position (leaning over the edge of the tub scrubbing) to be in for more than about thirty seconds. You have a least favorite cleaning chore?
You: Yeah, dishes suck... especially without a dishwasher. I hate cleaning the toilet, as well...

Christy: Some people are just manic about cleaning. Damn freaks I tell you. I want to tell them, "live life and stop fretting so much!". Then there are others that are just damn slobs! I mean come on, how hard is it to actually put away the non-perishable items from the grocery? Is it so difficult that you have to let them pile up still in the bag in every corner of your house???? I think not. Who is slobbiest person you know? Tell me an icky slob story so I can get motivated to clean harder.
You: Hmmm... I dunno many slobs... I knew some when I lived in Kirksville... it was really just better to not go into their house... but even the porch was messy...

Christy: Dang I am so psyched about the Georgia Bulldogs being undefeated this season that I could just soil myself. I can't remember, do you like sports? Didn't you play a sport when you were younger or am I remembering someone else?
You: Nope, I don't like sports... played softball and soccer as a kid, but hated it... played tennis in high school, and that was okay, but I wasn't very good... :)

Christy: Woohoo! One more day until Halloween! What is your favorite candy? I can't believe I don't already know this about you!
You: Hmmm... anything sour is good... though I've got orange, strawberry, and raspberry Creme Savers, and those are darn tasty too!

Christy: My husband said he wanted to dress up on Halloween as a brick. My daughter about died laughing at that one. Another friend suggested going as "Hairy Potty". Get it? Like Harry Potter© but puting a wig on a kid's potty and wearing it around your waist or something. *heehee* What was the coolest outfit you can remember either wearing or seeing?
You: I still like my Baby Ninja costume... I wish I had pictures from that year! But I remembered another good one... when I was in probably eighth grade, my friend Dana and I went as the California Raisins... we wore big black trashbags, stuffed with some newspaper... my mom made us little purple bow ties with what looked like white shirt fronts attached... and sunglasses, of course... :)

Christy: Going to any cool Halloween party tomorrow or this weekend? I am headed to New York City this weekend (see now that I said that I probably jinxed it). Have you ever been to NYC?
You: Looks like we're gonna go out for a little bit on Halloween, then Palla Grande on Friday... gotta get to the mall tonight to get the last of Gabe's costume, though!

Christy: See you later on!
You: Yup, laters! :)

CUT!!

I didn't want to post anything first thing this morning, because I was working on something to add to my site... but now it's done, so here we go.

You've seen the poster, "Everything I needed to know I learned in Kindergarten," right? And you've seen a variety of rip-offs of that poster as well... just replace Kindergarten with about anything improbable... :) Well, the one thing I haven't seen is replacing Kindergarten with the name of a band... so I got to thinking: what bands have inspired me to live my life in a different way?

I came up with one answer.

They
Might
Be
Giants

Okay, okay, okay... so it was a joke, actually... for some reason, while I was sitting in my apartment, being a goof, I came up with this idea... why not make a list called "Everything I needed to know I learned by listening to They Might Be Giants"... and so the list was born, and I've been working on it since. I was nearly done with it last week, but I put it aside to work on other stuff... but since TMBG are playing in Carbondale tonight, at the Copper Dragon, I thought today was the perfect day to launch my list... :)

But this doesn't have to be the last list... :) I'm actually wanting to do more... I started working on another one, and scrapped it, but I had so much fun making the TMBG list, that I might just go back and redo my other one. And I'm willing to accept submissions from my faithful readers... Gwarocks?, I'd love to see a GWAR list, and of course, a S L A Y E R list! :) And I think maybe Gabriel is gonna make me a Misfits list... so if anyone else has a list they'd like to contribute, I'll take 'em! :) Just E-mail me if you need information on how to do it!

Yes, indexing once again. It will end soon, though, as I'm on the T's at the moment... w00t! :)

In other news, I've gone back to as close to my natural hair color as I can... I dyed it dark brown last night... it's a bit darker than I remember it being, but it looks okay. I always thought I'd look kinda odd with black hair (which is why I never dyed it black), but dark brown is okay... interestingly, though, Megan has started a trend around the office... cuz she dyed her hair dark brown first, then I did mine, now Dana wants to do hers... seeing as most of us probably have naturally dark brown hair, I suppose it makes sense... :)

Okay, time to type till my fingers fall off. Here we go!

Monday Mission!

1. Ever do anything over and over just to make someone else happy but discover you actually hate it? That I can think of at the moment, no... I've seen other people do this, though...

2. What kinds of obligations do you enjoy? Things that I can do to help out my friends... my new found duties as the narrator for the Saturday game (they actually gave me stuff to do! w00t!)...

3. What are your feelings about celebrating Halloween? I love it! I dress up (or at least oddly) for work every year, and would probably go trick-or-treating if it wouldn't look absolutely ridiculous... :)

4. Are there any stories of bodily functions you would prefer people not share with you in conversation? Yeah, there was way too much talk about puking on Saturday night... that was no good... luckily Cindy shut that down quickly!

6. Ponder the thought of being forever young, living on endlessly, being immortal. What would that life be like for you? :) I could deal with that... well, as long as Gabe could be immortal too... it wouldn't be any fun otherwise!

7. What's the last thing you felt was "worth fighting for?" Getting to live my life the way I wanted to...

BONUS: Sooner or later, they all will be gone...why don't they stay young? I dunno, but as soon as I solve that problem, I'll get back to you... :)

::..::

Wow... the weekend worth of gaming was MUCHO kewl... Jack and Jubilee caused some chaos, and now Jack is part of the reformed Scions (it's a band)... then on Saturday, we killed off the old Scions... eerie, that... ;) Palla is next Friday, and Saturday will be the first time in ages that we don't have to worry about Sabbat problems... rock on! :)

That's all for now, got lots to do today!

Ugh, it's only 2? Feels like I've been here much longer... the morning flew by, cuz I was working on indexing and such, but it's dragged to a crawl now... *sigh*...

It looks soooooo pretty outside of the library windows right now... the ones near my office look out onto the quad, and from the level that we're at (3rd floor) and how far we are from the windows, all you can see is leaves, unless you actually go over to the windows and look out them... just last week, I was noticing that the leaves hadn't changed colors yet, and now it's just a riot of colors out there. Neat! :)

There's one tree that I walk under on my way to and from work that is really nice... almost pinkish colored leaves... I ought to save one, but it would probably get all icky looking if I took it down and smushed it in a book... ah well...

Time to do more work, I suppose...

Friday Five!

1. What is your favorite scary movie? Well, see, I don't like scary movies... so it's hard to have a favorite of something you don't really like... :) So I'll change the question to "What is your favorite vampire movie?" and answer that with "Interview with the Vampire"... w00t! :)

2. What is your favorite Halloween treat? Apple cider, when I make it in the crock pot... mmmmmmm...

3. Do you dress up for Halloween? If so, describe your best Halloween costume. Yeah, I usually do dress up, at least at some point... ummm... best costume? I dunno, I can't pick one... hopefully the one for this year will turn out looking kewl though! :)

4. Do you enjoy going to haunted houses or other spooky events? Not really... I scare easily... (yes, this is the same girl who LOVES vampire stuff... :) )

5. Will you dress up for Halloween this year? Not for Halloween, but for the night after... gonna be the Snow Princess... :)

::..::

End of the Work Week Wisdom:

"There's no crying in the Sabbat!"

::..::

So yeah, I'm kinda annoyed right now, because I happened to see in the campus paper yesterday that this weekend and next, visitors' cars are only allowed to be parked in the campus parking lots until 11 p.m.... Gabe's car not having a parking sticker on it, this means that we would have to be out of said parking lots before game is over... this sucks... ESPECIALLY with Palla Grande being next weekend...

Of course, my solution for part of the problem was simply that we could take our stuff for Palla and get dressed at the Student Center... Gabe seemed to think this wasn't a good idea, though... he asked where we could change clothes, and I said "the bathroom," of course... but he made a funny face about that... I told him "the bathrooms in the Student Center are NICE"... only to discover that it is apparently only the women's bathrooms that are nice... heh... like I've ever seen the men's bathrooms... :) Ah well... it'll all work out, I'm sure...

But yeah, I'm still mad about the fact that we can't park the car on campus for the next two weekends... *grumble*...

No interesting searches this week... just more people searching for "scary" followed by some other Halloween type stuff, and a handful of people looking for stuff about the C-dale riots... did I mention before that the year that they printed the list of arrests / charges after the riots, the MAJORITY of the people involved were not locals? People come down here from all over the place, participate in the riots, and then leave... but we're the ones that get stuck with the stigma of being a party town / school...

Though I'm not denying that this is a party school... I live right by two big frat houses, and there was one weekend when I woke up about 3 a.m. and got to listen to the entirety of a Blink 182 album at top volume...

Anyways, enough rambling about that... more indexing, more hyphen checking, more margin checking... the story of my life...

Dude. Hobby Lobby ROCKS!

We ran by Hobby Lobby last night, because I wanted to pick up masks for Palla Grande, and see if they had white Vampire fangs, so that I could make a prop for one of the LARPs... well, a lot of their Halloween stuff is already half off regular price... I think this is because they've decided to have the Christmas junk overtake the section of the store that WAS the Halloween stuff a couple of weeks ago. Anyways, not only did we get the masks for Palla, and enough fangs for my prop, we got another couple pairs of good fangs (we cleaned them out on fangs, actually, but at $2 a pair, how can you NOT?), a handful of black candles, fake blood capsules, and the silver glitter gel I needed to finish my Palla Costume... the people at the checkout counter had to think we were nuts... :) Might have to go back for more black candles, especially if they go on sale after Halloween! :)

And I still get to go "day-after-Halloween" shopping in Paducah... w00t! :)

Well, it's looking like there won't be a Humpday Hump this week, which I suppose is okay. Guess that means I'll have to write about something different, if I want to make this post meaningful in any way... :)

I'm VERY glad it's Wednesday. This week has been dragging a bit, or so it seems... must just be a lot of fairly boring work, that is never-ending... I'm working on typing pages for the index most days, or at least every other day. When I'm not doing that, I've got proof sheets to check over for a variety of things. Megan is helping out a lot with that, but there's quite a bit of it that I have to handle on my own. And then there's the usual office management type stuff to take care of.

But I've got plenty of game related distractions... plotting for my TT game, planning stuff for Palla Grande, and the usual plotting of mischief and mayhem for the Saturday game... much more of that lately, as things are getting REALLY interesting politically... not to mention there's still real plot to deal with as well! Not a lot to say directly about the plotting, though, as I know a LOT of people from game read my blog, and I like keeping my plots secret. Suffice it to say, there's plotting. 'Nuff said. :)

So now it's time to go back to checking the proof sheets for the next couple of hours. If I'm lucky, I might get done with the current batch of junk, and move on to something slightly more interesting... not likely though...

And a star is born... :)

Well, not really... but Cindy brought by the tape of the LARPers playing zombies for SPC-TV, and we watched it last night... funny funny stuff... I'm even in the credits! I was the "Frankenstein Zombie"... :) We didn't watch all of the tape, because it's mostly "Night of the Living Dead" with Dan and this girl doing MST3K type stuff over the movie... seeing as I've never seen "Night of the Living Dead," I think I'd rather see it the real way before watching it get MST'ed... :) So I didn't get to see all of my scenes, but I got to see the scene where I'm wearing Megan's old pink T-shirt and jumper, and Gabe's Elvis sunglasses... it looks SOOOOOOO silly... :)

Afterwards, we watched "Near Dark," which I talked about on here a few weeks ago... I was pretty impressed... there were a lot of B-movie effects and such, but it was really a pretty good movie... the only part that REALLY annoyed me was the blood transfusion bit... I dunno, I've seen a lot of vampire movies in my time, and know quite a bit about vampire type legends... never have I heard of blood transfusions as a cure for vampirism! :) Other than that, though, pretty darn kewl! :) I ended up calling it an "A minus movie"... not quite as cheezy as a B-movie, but not bad either... :)

And, in other movie type news, I just read on Wil Wheaton's blog that he's got the lead role in an upcoming movie!!!!!! But he didn't say what movie it is, yet... stay tuned for updates... you better believe I'll be wanting to see it right away! :)

In non-movie-related news, it's FRICKIN' COLD in my office today... the space heater is happily cranking out nice hot air, though, so it's tolerable, at the moment. The only disadvantage of the space heater is that it really dries out the air in here, which makes my skin even drier than it was before. And I can't run the space heater for part of the morning, as I only have one free outlet in my office, and need to type the letters that my boss has recorded... *sigh*...

Two for Tuesday

1. Tell us about your first time you ever kissed someone. Now please, you don't have to limit yourself, we wanna hear allllll about it. You know you want to tell everyone. Well, according to my mom, there was this little boy that she used to babysit for when I was a kid. His name was Scott... and apparently I kissed him when I was about 3. I don't really remember this, so I'm not sure it really counts. :) But the fun part of this story is that later on, when I was playing softball on the team for my church, all of the girls that I played with (who all went to public school) knew this boy, and he was apparently quite the cutie... :)
The first one I remember, though, was my first boyfriend, John. My friend Michelle and I were at his house, hanging out with him (or something), and when Michelle and I were getting ready to leave, she pushed me into him (intentionally, of course) so that he would have to catch me... and that's about it... not terribly exciting or anything...

2. This one was sort of a toss up. So we'll leave it to your first job. (I'll leave the scandalous questions for later) We have all had those first jobs that we're not proud of, so it's time for everyone to fess up! Not counting numerous babysitting jobs, it would have to be McDonalds... worked there from the summer after my senior year of high school until the summer after my junior year of college (only in the summers though)... was a manager by the end of it... and, as my final act of defiance, I skipped my last day of work there, so that I could go to the zoo with my friends... my mom was MAD, cuz my sister Sarah worked there too, and she was freaking out all day cuz one of the ladies who worked there kept telling her "maybe your sister was in a car accident?"... :)

::..::

More indexing today, though I've got all of that done already... now I just have to work on all of the stuff that gets stacked up on my desk while I'm indexing... *sigh*...

Monday Mission!

1. Have you ever felt like you were expected to set a good example for others? Yeah, all the time... I'm the oldest of four kids, so I had to set a good example for the other kids...

2. What keeps you on the right path? For example, why do you think you turned out the way you did as opposed to the nut ball sniper out there? Hmmm... probably because I'm weird in so many other ways... there's a limit to how much weirdness can be encompassed in a single person! ;)

3. Sometimes things seem different than they really are. When was the last time you believed something to be one way only to learn you had it all wrong? *sigh*... well, game on Saturday, I suppose... I was sooooo sure that Dr. Webster was gonna be the new Seneschal... but he's not... *sigh*...

4. Can you recall a time when being alert and observant kept you safe? Not really, though I can think of a number of times when being oblivious got me smacked in the head with a kickball... :)

5. Who in your personal circle of relationships do you think is smarter than you? Are they smarter in just one area, or overall? How do you feel about that? How do they interact with you? I'm of the opinion that MOST people I know and spend a lot of time with are generally smart... but they're usually just better at something that I'm not so good at... like Gabe is insanely good with languages... I'm supposed to be decent at them (I've studied French, Latin, Old English, and German), but I'm not nearly as good as he is!

6. Let's daydream a little: Describe in detail the most perfect lazy day, start to finish. Ooooh... sleep most of the day, then watch movies... order Chinese food to get delivered... stay in my 'jamies all day long... w00t! :)

7. Are you dressing up for Halloween? If so, what as? If not, how come? What is the most favorite costume you ever had? I'm not dressing up for Halloween itself, most likely... I have to work that day, so I'll probably just wear my purple and black tights and all the rest black... so maybe that's a witch costume or something...
The day after Halloween, though, is Palla Grande for our Sabbat game, so I'm dressing up for that... it's not really a nameable costume tho... silver prom-style dress, silver gloves that come up past my elbows, a silver shawl thing, lotsa glitter and such, and a bunch of fake white flowers... I was calling it the Ice Queen before, but maybe we'll call it the Snow Princess... :)
And my favorite costume? Gah, I dunno... in the past few years I've been the female Crow, a mummy, and a baby ninja... the last WOULD have been one of my favorite costumes, if anyone had understood what I was trying to do... they all thought I was Sporty Spice... *grumble*...

BONUS: Come on baby tell me what’s the word? Uh... I dunno... :)

::..::

Working on the index again, so that's all for now... game Friday was kewl, game Saturday was kewl too, though in very different ways... :) The end. :)

Friday Five!

1. How many TVs do you have in your home? Just one!

2. On average, how much TV do you watch in a week? Well, in C-dale, you either have to pay outrageous sums of money for cable, or you get about 5 or 6 stations... so I watch very little TV... if Jeopardy hadn't been moved to 4 p.m. (was at 4:30, before), I'd watch about 2 and a half hours of TV a week... as things go, it's closer to 0... :)

3. Do you feel that television is bad for young children? I think that too much TV is bad for anyone, children or adults. Within moderation, there's nothing wrong with it. As much as I complain about the fact that my parents only let me watch 2 hours of Saturday morning cartoons every Saturday when I was a kid, I think it was probably a good thing... because it meant that I would be forced to get out and do other things with my Saturdays...

4. What TV shows do you absolutely HAVE to watch, and if you miss them, you're heartbroken? None, any more... I used to really hate missing X-Files, and wrestling. But I didn't have Fox for about a year and a half, so I stopped missing X-Files... and with all the changes in the wrestling world, and not having UPN for most of that, I grew out of it too... in fact, I haven't watched wrestling for a good month or so... no big loss!

5. If you had the power to create your own television network, what would your line-up look like? Uhhh... all movies? That's all I watch, mostly...

::..::

And speaking of movies, watched "The Big Lebowski" last night... it was funny, sure, but I was expecting a lot funnier... I guess I had already been told about most of the really funny parts... *shrug*...

It probably didn't help any that I was feeling rather sick last night, as was Gabe... stupid colds, or whatever we've got... it's annoying, to say the least!

::..::

End of the Work Week Wisdom...

"Bring me the duct tape."
--Because duct tape fixes everything... and that which can't be fixed with duct tape can be fixed with WD-40... SWG's theory of fixing ANYTHING!

::..::

Right, that's about it... I'm feeling better today than I was last night, but still not great... just about everybody I know has a cold, or the flu, or just generally feels like crap... it sucks... especially when you get more sick as the weekend approaches... I'd much rather be sick during the week, if I have to be sick at all!

Okay, my knee is much better today, though I don't know why... I'm not going to complain, though... I hate it when my knees hurt... I'm NOT old, dammit! :)

Time for the list of things that people searched for to find my site... longer this week, though most were the usual ones...

  • "scooby-doo pictures in black and white"
  • "pizza girl story"
  • "larp home movies" - ack... yeah, we need some of these... :)
  • "net dream girl"
  • "sanguinus LARP" - heh... doubt it... at least not the Sanguinus that I talk about on here... :)
  • "Halloween Carbondale Illinois"
  • "carbondale bars"

Just a clarification... no, the Carbondale bars will not be open for Halloween this year... so don't plan on coming here for the riots, cuz we're not having any! :)

Got the next volume on my desk now, and I'm checking for hyphens... oh joy... but at least it's not the bibliography! :)

Humpday Hump!

Act V Scene III: *We are munching out at Chic-Fil-A while the kids go crazy in their own little playarea that is enclosed with soundproof glass. Ahhhhhhhhh, quiet.* Quiet on the set!! Roll tape..... and....ACTION!!

Christy: Dang you did a good job coloring my hair! Thank goodness for Nice n' Easy #!06a and the help of good friends like you! I was tired of being a tangerine as my daughter dubbed me. My next project is whitening my teeth with that new Colgate Simply White gel. Do you take good care of your teeth?
You: No, not really... I know I should do a lot more... :)

Christy: Yeah, i know, if my luck runs as it did with my haircolor I will have brown teeth by the end of this project. I read that this stuff works really well though. My teeth stain really easily and I love coffee and coke so this better work. I have soft teeth which means lots of cavities over the years. Do you have any cavities?
You: I have at least 3 that are filled, and who knows if there are any more...

Christy: I like my smile. But there was a time when when I didn't at all. I had very crooked teeth as a child which, thanks to the generosity and selflessness of my parents, resulted in a full set of braces. I can thank the braces for my present smile. I had them for FIVE years! Did you ever have braces or any cosmetic dentistry?
You: Yup, braces for 3 years, including headgear... and I'm still supposed to wear my retainer when I sleep... but I gave that up when I went to college... good thing, too, cuz it would look kinda odd now... dunno why I thought that getting a turquoise retainer was a GOOD idea at the time... :)

Christy: Honestly, I would love to be an oral surgeon or at the least a pediatric dentist (for kids). Many people I know (*cough*Dad, Heather *cough*) despise the trip to the dentist with a passion. Does the dentist make your blood curdle?
You: YES!

Christy: I have to admit that there has to be a better way to administer local anesthesia than the hypodermic needle. I mean, come on, we are in the 21st century people. Drugs and I don't mix either. It takes A LOT to deaden my nerves. I usually wind up feeling part of the operation and motioning as such to the doc in order for him/her to hit me up again. Speaking of which, have you ever done drugs? And don't scrimp on details!
You: Nope, I haven't... some people are probably surprised by that fact, but it's true!

Christy: Today, I had the pleasure of cleaning poo out of my son's pants. I am so sick and tired of this potty training crap (pun intended). What are your plans for the day?
You: Ummm... work, then go home, make dinner, and run my TT game... thrilling, I know! :)

Christy: My son woke up not able to walk on his right foot. I have had to carry him around most places (hence that is most likely the reason why he had the poo accident because he couldn't run to the potty and just "forgot" to holler for me). I don't know what is wrong with him. He just can't put any weight on his right leg. Ever had that happen to you and last most of the day?
You: Oddly, my knee was acting up this morning when I was in the shower... just felt all weak and weird... but seeing as I have problems with my knees on occasion, it's not entirely surprising... any rate, I've got my knee brace on now, so it's feeling fine. We'll see how it is tomorrow...

Christy: See you later on!
You: Yup, laters! :)

CUT!!

Are we back in businesss? I think we are... :)

My page was down when I got to work this morning... it looks like it's stable now... still dunno if I can check my related E-mail, however... *sigh*...

Waiting on the Humpday Hump to get posted, so that I can get that answered... in the meantime, I'm working on random stuff at work (read: not the index), and being quite bored... hopefully I'll find something useful to do in a bit here... I just don't wanna work on the bibliography today... too much brain power required for that!

Missed the Monday Mission yesterday, but here is the Two for Tuesday:

1. Do you believe in ghosts? If so, have you ever had any kind of ghostly encounter? Yes, definitely. The apartment that I had in Kirksville was used as a morgue during the (very tiny) battle of Kirksville... so Nate (who had it before me) had told me that it might be haunted. Didn't really think so, at first, but one night, when I was laying in bed, facing the wall, trying to fall asleep, I could feel a presence behind me... nothing malevolent, mind you, just a presence. I even got the idea that it was a woman, probably a nurse of some sort, there to check on me. That same night, I also got the sense that there was someone else there, looking in the skylight... might have been two little boys, or maybe just one. Of course, I didn't roll over... didn't want to scare them away or anything!
Another night, I thought I saw something in the living room, but it might have been the reflection of headlights (the apartment was on the square, and cars drove past at all hours of the night)...
Oddly, when I lived in the house in Murphysboro, which is a fairly old one, I never felt anything at all... so it's probably not haunted... :)
I also get "shivers" every once in a while, which I have heard some people describe as the feeling you get when someone walks over your grave... the oddest one of these was when Assie, Timmy, Ian and I went to see Star Wars (Episode 2)... Assie, Timmy, and I all got a shiver at exactly the same time, as we walked through the lobby of the movie theatre... it was weird!

2. Do you like scary movies? If so, name one movie that genuinely frightened you. Nope, I've never been a scary movie fan... so most scary movies scare me, at least a little bit... there was part of "Red Dragon" where I think I screamed, and I know I jumped out of my seat... so that ought to tell you something! :)

Yes, I've been sick again... this time, at least, it's a cold, and not allergies... and I'm mostly feeling better now... still a little tired, but not too bad! :)

I'm starting on the index for volume 25 now... this means my hands are gonna be TIRED... so not a lot of typing here, most likely... and I'm gonna only do the movie thing if it's a good movie that I think everyone should see... it's into the realm of horror flicks now, and I'm not a big horror flick fan... so I haven't seen any of them... :)

Quick weekend summary:

Friday - saw "Red Dragon"... not bad at all, and a bit surprising in places... I still like "Silence of the Lambs" the best, but this one was really good... and there were some parts in it that were VERY reminiscent of "Silence," so I liked that a lot! :)

Saturday - Forgotten... Ben and Jessi came down and played, which made me very very happy! I missed them bunches! Hopefully they'll be down more often now, and maybe even bring some of the other E-ville area people (*hint hint*)... :) As for actual stuff, Dani ended up with one of D's fangs, and almost got herself killed helping to take down the 10th and 11th Sabbat Vampire that she claims as part of her "body count"... and we have 5 Sabbat in the Sabbat filing system now... w00t! :)

Sunday - watched "Babe," which is a wonderfully cute movie... tho I'm not sure I want to eat ham anymore after seeing it... :) How can you eat something that cute? :)

Monday - sat around all day playing the Sims, and being sickly... no fun!

That's all for now, more if I get a chance! :)

Substitute End of the Work Week Wisdom:
(because the first one was really just a word, and not very wise, and I remembered the one I wanted to post...)

"Oh! Oh! Are we rationing milk here again?"

No explanation for that one... :)

Oh yeah... and there's no game tonight... cuz one of the STs is out of town... but plenty of Malkavian-Ravnos kookiness planned for tomorrow night! :)

Ah well, probably gonna get to see "Red Dragon" tonight... because despite my dislike of gross stuff in movies, I watched "Silence of the Lambs" three times in the theatre, and I saw "Hannibal" as well... :) And hey, "Red Dragon" has Ed Norton AND Ralph Fiennes... sweet... :)

Ack, I almost forgot to do the movies!

Today's movie is: "The Fearless Vampire Killers or: Pardon Me, But Your Teeth Are in My Neck" (1967)... riiiiiiight... never saw it, doubt I want to... :)

The secondary movie is "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"... probably gonna get flamed ALL to hell for this one, but I HATE the TV show, and I LOVE this movie... so nyah... :p

Since I won't be here over the weekend, let's get the primary movies for Saturday and Sunday out of the way, shall we?

Saturday: "Andy Warhol's Dracula" (1974)... huh what? Another riiiiiiiight... :)

Sunday: "The Amityville Horror" (1979)... nope, not my style... never saw it, never will...

Friday Five!

1. If you could only choose 1 cd to ever listen to again, what would it be? Metropolis 2002, cuz it's the one with the remix of "Until the End of the World," which is the Apoptypgma Berzerk song that I love!

2. If you could only choose 2 movies to watch ever again, what would they be? Interview with the Vampire and Fight Club... though it was really hard to pick only two here!

3. If you could only choose 3 books to read ever again, what would they be? Vampire: the Masquerade, 3rd ed., The Stand by Stephen King, and Lost Souls by Poppy Z. Brite

4. If you could only choose 4 things to eat or drink ever again, what would they be? Water, toasted ravioli, buffalo chicken strips, and ice cream! :)

5. If you could only choose 5 people to ever be/talk/associate/whatever with ever again, who would they be? Ugh, this one is really hard... I'd get sick of most people if I could only talk to them... but there's a few that I could never get sick of... Gabriel and Seth would be on that list... and since this is theoretically ANYONE, let's toss in Neil Gaiman, Wil Wheaton, and... oh, I suppose Megan... :)

End of the Work Week Wisdom:

And in other AWESOME news, They Might Be Giants are playing in C-dale!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On October 30th!!!!!!!!!! I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOO there! I might just have to see about taking Halloween and the day after off of work... too bad that's probably not possible!

Scratch that... rewind...

Today will be a slow day until 2 p.m.... then I get to start proofreading the stuff, which has already been proofread twice, with one of the student workers... who have never been taught to proofread... I'm confused... unfortunately, the boss is out for (probably) the rest of the afternoon... so I guess we'll get started on that when one of my student workers arrives... and then be thoroughly confused until tomorrow morning... *sigh*...

And I was looking forward to having half a brain when I got home from work today... guess not...

Today is shaping up to be a slow day... I finished the last of what needed to be reviewed on the proof sheets, and everything has been proofread already... the only thing left, other than marking all of the corrections on the master copies, is the indexing... which means that all next week, I will probably be spending about four hours a day madly typing... oh the fun, oh the excitement!

But in the meantime, I'm a bit bored... don't really want to haul out any of the stuff I was working on before the proof sheets arrived, cuz I know I'll just have to put it away on Monday... *sigh*...

Oh, and did I mention that I was wrong when I thought two volumes had arrived? It was only the first of the two volumes... we'll be getting the other one shortly, and then it's back to this same routine for the second time! More fun, and more excitement... :p

Well, every once in a while, this movie thing doesn't have a movie... so apparently today is Ed Wood's b-day (or would be, if he were still alive), so it's just talking about several of his movies... which I have never seen... because while I don't have a problem with bad movies (I sat through the entirety of "Blood Sucking Pharohs from Pittsburgh!"), Ed Wood movies are another matter entirely... :) Haven't actually seen "Ed Wood," either, even though Johnny Depp is in it... :)

Anyways, time to see what people have searched for to find my site... unfortunately, not much of interest this week... there's a marked increase in the number of searches for "scary," probably with Halloween rapidly approaching... so only a couple of interest:

  • "buttmagic" - right, I'm thinking that wasn't a search for my friend Steve... but that's okay... :)
  • "halloween Carbondale" - YES! Our reputation preceeds us! :)

For those who don't know what the deal is, Carbondale, Illinois, where I live, is well known for our Halloween riots... I don't personally know how long these have been going on for, but this will be my 5th Halloween in C-dale... there's only been riots one year that I've been here, I think... the problem is that in the past, everyone would be in town for Halloween, and the bars would be open... and when they closed, around 2 a.m., all the drunk college students run out into the streets and riot... since I've been here, they've tried a couple of things to cut back on the riots... the first couple of years, they closed the university around Halloween, and tried to get as many people as possible to go home... that worked well enough, and it looked like the riots were over for good... so then one year (this was 2000, I believe), they left the university open, as well as the bars... guess what happened? RIOTS! :)

So then last year, they closed the university and the bars... no riots! :) Brilliant, people... truly brilliant... in 2000, student + bars = riots! In previous years, no students + bars = no riots... in 2001, no students + no bars = no riots... So this year, they're trying a new equation... students + no bars = ???... my guess? No riots... but we shall see... :)

Humpday Hump, like usual! :)

Act V Scene II: *You are helping me color my hair - again! I am not liking this macaroni & Cheese color.* Quiet on the set!! Roll tape..... and....ACTION!!

Christy: It's finally chilly here!! Hooray! Now I just need my snugglebunny. Remember your favorite snuggly stuffed animal/thing you always used to love on? What was it's name?
You: Well, when I was really young, I had a doll named Rachel... she wasn't much good to cuddle with, as she was made of hard plastic... but I still slept with her at night. I'm sure there were some others in-between, but the next one I remember is my white bear, named Lucas... I cuddled with that thing till the head started falling off... and then I have Madison, my gray and black stuffed cat... I only gave him up really recently!

Christy: Yeah, i know, this color is crazy. I was just getting it all one color again. My daughter calls it buttered popcorn now. I hope you will be able to get it back to soccer-mom normal again. I have always wondered what black would look like on me, though. You ever had a hair color you wanted to try if you could buy the guts to go along with it?
You: It's not so much a matter of getting the guts to do it, but I really want purple hair... the only problem is with how dark my hair is, I'd have to bleach it first, and I'm not entirely sure I want to put my hair through that... but I might go for a black cherry color, that will be purplish but not blatantly so... :)

Christy: I just love the color purple. What does it make you think of? What kind of person does it make you think of?
You: Heh... purple is my favorite color, aside from black... has been for a long time, too... maybe one of these days I'll redo my site in purple and black... oooh, I'm liking the sound of that... hmmmm....

Christy: Hey, if you had to refer to people by a color they reminded you of, what color would your best friends be? Your family members? Significant Other?
You: I'm no good at that, though I've been told that I'm purple, oddly enough... and this was before the person telling me knew my favorite color... :)

Christy: I love getting mail but I am so damn hypocritical when it comes to that because I just suck at keeping up with correspondence. Who did you write your last letter to? Not email but snail mail. Okay email to since snail mail is so archaic.
You: I don't EVER write snail mail... I'm so bad... but the last E-mail I sent was to Seth, letting him know that I had uploaded his Nati Light picture for his webpage... :)

Christy: Sorry I was late meeting up with you today but I was shopping for this damn haircolor. Thanks for helping me out with this one. What was your worst hair experience?
You: When I cut my own bangs, and ended up making them WAY too short... or the other time I decided I needed bangs, and made them take up a LOT more of my hair than they should have... suffice it to say, I'm never having bangs again!

Christy: I just have to get that breast reduction soon. Would you ever have any cosmetic surgery done? Or have you ever and just not told me about it yet???
You: Only to get some of my moles removed... some of the ones on my arms stick out a lot, and are quite annoying...

CUT!!

Horribly sleepy at the moment...

Today's movie: "Blade" (1998)... definitely another good vampire movie! I'm actually surprised I don't own it! The sequel, on the other hand, was not nearly as good, though I liked some aspects of it a bit better...

The secondary movie is "From Dusk till Dawn," which, IMHO, is not so much a vampire movie as a Quentin Tarantino movie that happens to feature some vampires as characters... and then they made a sequel or two... gah! Bad idea!

:: Tuesday, October 08, 2002 ::
Today's movie: "Near Dark" (1987)... despite the fact that this movie was available at Splash Page (the gaming shop in Kirksville), and despite the fact that one summer, Jed, John, and I tried to watch every vampire movie known to man (and some that shouldn't have been known to ANYONE!), I have never seen "Near Dark"... that's terribly annoying... perhaps I'll add it to the list of movies that I need to see... :)

The secondary movie, however, is "Lost Boys," which is a wonderful movie... both Corey's (Haim and Feldman, for those unaware of 80s movie stars), and such great lines as "Chill out, Edgar!"... what's not to like? :)

My other comment for the day is that I'm happy it's finally decided to get cool out, but a little warning might have been nice! :) There's something wrong about running around in shorts and T-shirts one day, and feeling the need for quilts and such the next! But around here, you can never be sure how long the cool weather will last... it might be in the upper 70s this weekend, according to the forecast I read this morning... craziness!

And I've decided I'm probably not going to do NaNoWriMo this year either... I read through some stuff, and it looks like I would have to write close to 2,000 words a day, EVERY day... I'm not sure I can come up with that much writing... I might try to do something of the sort, but I doubt I'll make it...

Jess mentioned this the last time that they did it... I was interested then, but didn't have the time... I'm still interested, but I'm not sure whether or not I have the time... I probably do have the time, but it would be at the expense of other things that I enjoy doing... so I have to decide whether or not it's worth it...

On the one hand, I would love to be able to finally write a novel... and the work load at work should be lightening pretty close to the beginning of November...

On the other hand, I like just sitting around and watching movies or running TT when I get home from work...

*sigh*... decisions, decisions, decisions...

I suppose the other thing I would have to do if I were to do this is come up with an idea for my novel... I would actually rather not do a vampire novel, if it's Vampire: the Masquerade related... and I'm not sure I could write vampire stuff that isn't terribly tied in to the World of Darkness... since I've been reading, living, and breathing it for far too long now! But I don't think I have many non-vampire ideas... :(

Okay, here's the movies... only the main movies, for this entry, because otherwise I'd be talking about 8 movies!

Friday - "Ghost" (1990)... yup, I saw that one... in the front row of the theatre, because the guys that my friend Mary and I went with really didn't want to see it... so they made us sit in the front row as payback! Not a bad movie, but I wouldn't call it a scary type movie...

Saturday - "Topper" (1937)... never heard of it... cuz it's old... :)

Sunday - "Shadow of the Vampire" (2000)... yup, own it on DVD... Willem Dafoe is sooooo good in this movie, and I like the fact that Eddie Izzard and Cary Elwes are both in it as well... :) The calendar mentions that it's "a little slow going," which I would say is pretty darn accurate... but it is good! :)

Monday (that would be today!) - "Interview with the Vampire" (1994)... one of my favorites, as evidenced by its mention on my movies page... I soooooo love this movie! And no matter what anyone said about Tom Cruise playing Lestat, I don't think I would have liked this movie as much with any other cast... they're all just perfect for their roles!

And now we'll be back to the regularly scheduled 2 movies per day... :)

Monday Mission!

1. I just got back from a family reunion. It was ok, but I find those gatherings a little boring. Does your family ever have any reunions or annual get-togethers? Do you enjoy them? I haven't been to a family reunion (of my own family) in ages... though Megan told me that my dad's side has them every year... dunno why no one tells me these things! I went to a friend's family reunion a couple of summers ago, but that was just to see when he was leaving, since we were staying at his apartment... :)

2. A gal I work with told me that when her husband's drivers licsence comes up for renewal, she swipes it. She says he won't ever pose for pictures and that's the only way she can get a photo of him. Is that not creepy? Are you a picture person? Do you like taking photos, and having yours taken? I like taking pictures, though I hardly get to do it... I don't mind having my picture taken, as long as I'm given a chance to prepare... there are entirely TOO many pictures of me with a "huh?" look on my face, as someone calls my name and I look up into a flash...

3. Time for show and tell: post a recent photo of yourself! Look to the left... that's the most recent one that's been developed! :)

4. I have a cousin I always knew as Jay. As he got into college, he began to go by Greg. Turns out is name was Greg, Junior. Jay was short for Junior! Can't blame him for changing it. Did you ever have a nick-name growing up? How did it come about? Did you ever give anyone a nickname that stuck? I've had a lot of dumb nicknames... my grandpa either called me Squirt or Princess... people have always called me Dawnie-Poo... now everyone either calls me ScaryWhiteGirl or LARP Marm...
As for giving nicknames, I was there for the granting of the nickname of ButtMagic to TheSteve, though it was really a small child that gave him that nickname... :)

5. Since I don't have cable, a friend promised to send me a few episodes of "Trading Spaces," the show where folks redecorate someone else's home (and I'm still waaaaiiiting on that tape). But that got me to thinking about how I'd change my own house if I were able. And the room I'd do first would be the bathroom. If you could design the bathroom of your dreams, what would it be like? Spare no expense! Oooh, getting to design the bathroom of my dreams? Kewl! :) First off, it would have to be HUGE... like way bigger than any bathroom has the right to be... second off, it needs a jacuzzi... definitely... :) Ummm... that's all, really... :)

6. I've been trying to catch up on the early seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer in re-runs, though I've been told to buy the DVDs. But I think I'd rather borrow them if I could. But there are a few television shows I'd like to own on DVD (like "The Flash" and "Max Headroom"). What shows (if any) do you own in a video collection? What TV shows would you like to see collected on DVD or video? Don't have any shows on video or DVD (except for a tape of assorted Space Ghost episodes)... I don't really want any of my favorite shows to be collected on DVD or video, cuz then I'd want to buy them, and there are far more useful things I could do with my money...

7. I recently watched "Chitty-Chitty Bang-Bang" again, first time since I was little. It held up pretty well, unlike some movies that are better in your memory than they are when you see them again (like "E.T." good movie, but for me, better as a memory). Do you have any favorite movies from your childhood? Do you think you would still enjoy them if you watched them today? One movie that I liked when I was younger (though not exactly a kid) was License to Drive... I dunno how I'd like it now... :) And I can't really remember watching a lot of movies when I was a kid... most of the ones I can recall, I still watch (like the Star Wars trilogy and such)...

BONUS: Don't you know you're sleeping in a spotlight? Nope, it's a monkey light...

Yes, I know that I missed the usual Friday posting... it's cuz I've been sick (and sick-ish) since Thursday afternoon... not very much fun... but I finally got some extra sleep yesterday, and I'm feeling considerably better now!

I've got movies to catch up on later, and probably more as well, but for now, the "What Would Have Been the End of the Work Week Wisdom, Had I Been Here on Friday"... yeah... :)

Yay, it's Thursday! This makes the SWG very happy, as it means that tomorrow is Friday, and that starts the weekend! :)

Today's movies are both good!!! :) The main movie today is "Beetlejuice" (1988)... this is one of my favorite movies, though I don't watch it nearly as often as I'd like to... maybe something to think about picking up sooner or later... :) Anyways, Winona Ryder is in it... of course I love it! :) And it's a Tim Burton flick, AND Danny Elfman did the music... what's not to love? :) Best line: "I am... alone... I am utterly... alone..." From Winona's character's suicide note... :)

The second movie is "Sleepy Hollow," which I also liked a lot! Just one of those "Johnny Depp playing a supernatural investigator" movies... of which he has FAR too many, recently... that, "From Hell," and "Ninth Gate"... can we say "typecasting?"

I've noticed that on my list of things people used to search for my site, most of them are fairly repetitive... lots of searches involving goth, girl, scary, braces, etc... so I've decided to only post the really good ones... :)

"Neil Gaiman LARP" - what?! Sign me up for that NOW! I would SOOOOO love to do something like that! :)
"goth pet names" - hehehehe... no, I don't think I've discussed that... but assuming this means names for your pet if you're a goth, here are some that we made up when trying to name my new cat on the Sims: Unleashed: Dracula, Caine, or Bloodsucker... :) I went with the first... :)
"dawn of the net" - this one just jumped out at me... like what, George of the Jungle? I am Dawn of the Net, hear me roar... :) I doubt that's what they were going for... :)
"white wolf 80's band" - I am not aware of an 80s band called White Wolf, but if anyone knows differently, I'd love to hear about it!
"wedding dress Garou" - ummm... wow... this takes me back to my first ever Werewolf game... where my Child of Gaia went Crinos and was still wearing a skirt... it was a funny picture... but yet another case of unrelated search terms getting lumped together... :)

That's all for this week... though I did notice that there were a couple of semi-obscene ones this week... nothing I feel the need to share though... :)

Humpday Hump!

Act V Scene I: *We are sitting in hammocks between the trees in my backyard while the kidlets play. Enjoying the breeze and shooting the shtuff.* Quiet on the set!! Roll tape..... and....ACTION!!

Christy: Okay so White made most of you think of snow. Which makes me think of winter which I love of course. I can not survive in the heat. I sweat like a pig. I swear I am a direct descendant of Mr. Freeze. What is your favorite season? What three things do you like most about that season?
You: I looooove fall, which is why the weather lately has been annoying me sooo much. My three favorite things about the fall are the weather getting cooler (but not too cold yet!), the leaves changing colors, and Halloween!!!! :)

Christy: Speaking of seasons, Halloween is coming up! I love Halloween. It is the start of the giving season. I think my daughter is going to be Harry Potter and my son is going to be a construction worker. I think I am going to be a Mardi Gras favorite - the necklace lady! What about you?
You: Hmmmm... I dunno yet. I'm probably not going to dress up as anything for Halloween itself, but the next night, we're going to have Palla Grande at the LARP... and I've got most of my costume for that worked out... :) It's nothing based on anything, but the idea is "The Ice Queen"... I'll try to get pictures... :)

Christy: Are you going to give out candy to the little hoodlums? Do you have many that come around your place?
You: I doubt there are going to be many trick or treaters at my apartment... so I probably won't get much candy... maybe just some Pixie Stix, which will get eaten even if no kids come by... :) Mmmm... Pixie Stix... :)

Christy: I am the organizer of my daughter's Halloween and Christmas parties this year. We had Halloween parties at my house when I was a kid. Any memorable holidays in your past?
You: I still have the ceramic pumpkin and the ceramic boot that they gave us at the Halloween and Christmas parties in kindergarten... ah, the joys of going to a school where most of the parents were wealthy... :) Unfortunately, I don't remember a lot of the holiday parties from when I was a kid, because I was sick a LOT as a child, and missed almost every holiday party for the first few years of school... the best Halloween I can remember was the one a few years back, when I still lived in Kirksville, and we had a party at the apartment... it was a lot of fun... especially when the party wound down and the girls and I decided to go to the bar... where we ran into some of our professors... that was bizarre... :)

Christy: Totally off subject, but I love getting catalogs in the mail as long as they are good catalogs. I dream of all the great things I could get if I was rich. What luxury item would you buy for yourself if you suddenly fell into a load of money?
You: If I had somewhere to put it, I'd love a hot tub... :) But not having one, I'd probably just buy a new computer... with a LOT of RAM, and probably like a 100 gig hard drive... :)

Christy: Sorry I was late meeting up with you today but my son had a playgroup this morning and we had to pick up my daughter straight after. What are your plans for this weekend?
You: Game on Friday, game on Saturday... laundry and other household chores on Sunday. Maybe do something else if anything comes up... but that's not likely... :)

Christy: Hey would you like a poll or a little game to play on the sidebar of my site?
You: Nooooo... not a game! I already have enough distractions! :)

CUT!!!

Yes, I am finally done messing around with my weather pixie... I think I have the one I want now! :)

I am doing some of the most tedious work at the moment... looking at the margins of the proof sheets, and making a note every time there is a part of a letter that sticks out from the margin (on what should be justified margins)... wouldn't be a problem if there weren't so many of them! Every time a line begins with a j or y, and every time it ends with an f, I have to make a note... then if anything is in italics on either end of a line, there's a chance that will require a note as well... I'm taking notes in Excel, but it's still tedious... *sigh*...

Off to lunch in a few, with a few friends... glad I checked my voice mail last night before going to sleep! :)

If you scoot further down my page, you'll see a cute little weather pixie, and you will probably notice that the weather in C-dale today is the equivalent of pea soup. Yum. Can it be fall already, please? It's past September 21st and everything!

Between the weather and having to proofread for the past hour, I'm all kinds of miserable... hopefully the day will only get better; I don't think it can get much worse!

The movie for today is "Casper" (1995)... never saw it... only apparently redeeming quality: Christina Ricci! :) But it's a kids type movie, so I doubt I'll be checking it out... :) The second movie is "The Canterville Ghost," which is apparently based on an Oscar Wilde story, made for TV, and starring Patrick Stewart... hmmm... sounds more promising, though I'm not planning to watch it either... :)

4 weeks and one day till Halloween! :)

On my desk at work, I have a nice little day by day calendar... and the one that I have had for this entire year is a movie one... where each day, it talks about a movie at some length, and another movie at less length... it also rates them and gives you all sorts of little fun facts about the movie...

Well, it appears that for the month of October, the calendar is going to tell me all about scary (and scary-ish) movies... sounds like fun. I will comment about said movies here... that sounds like fun too. If I get behind, no big deal, I'll just catch up when I have the chance! Ready? Here we go! :)

Today's movie is "Ghostbusters" (1984)... ahhh, a wonderful '80s movie... I like it lots. Who hasn't seen this movie? Seriously? Bill Murray is always funny, and I like Dan Aykroyd in it as well...

And the best line: "Dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria!"

Loyal SWG.net readers will recognize that line, cuz it was, in modified form, an End of the Work Week Wisdom some time ago... funny how things come full circle like that... particularly since that line was discussed last night... but I'm saving that story for Friday... oooh, the suspense... :)

As a side note, the second movie on today's calendar page is "Ghostbusters 2"... riiiight... not as good of an idea...

Two for Tuesday

1. When you're tired, do you embrace sleep -- either by napping or calling it a night -- or do you fight it and stay awake? I hate napping... always makes me feel more tired when I'm done... so I avoid that when I can. But I tend to go to sleep when I realize that I'm really tired, at least during the week. On the weekends (Friday and Saturday nights) I will fight the tiredness as best I can, and stay up very late. It doesn't help much that I'm usually in bed between 9 and 10 during the week, yet stay up till 1 a.m. or later on Fridays and Saturdays... that's what game will do to you, though! :)

2. Do you have any funny sleeping rituals or habits? Oh, lots... like I can't get to sleep if I haven't flipped over to my other side at least once or twice... and I have to have the closet doors shut before I can sleep... that's the only ones I can think of at the moment... :)

Mmmm... glorious sleep... :)

Haven't had to do too much with the proof sheets just yet... but I know that indexing is coming soon, and that's when I really have a lot of work to do... seeing as I'm the one who types the entire index... suffice it to say, the days I have to type index stuff will be the days of very short entries here... so that my hands don't fall off!
