Random ramblings cuz I have nothing better to do... or something... :)
This is the site formerly known as Anneke's Haven. Within, you will find information about my previous White Wolf chronicles, and other random gaming related stuff. I also have a blog here, where I talk about pretty much everything and anything, though it's primarily about my exciting life... the definition of exciting definitely being up for debate.
Enjoy your visit, and come back soon!
*sigh*... I just typed an entry and had it disappear, cuz my Exploder locked up...
Anyways... ummm... lemme think... today is my last day at work this week, so don't expect any posts after today, until next Monday... I know, I know... it will be horribly sad for all of you... but you'll get over it, I'm sure... :)
So have a happy Thanksgiving, and eat lots of turkey, or whatever your food of choice is... I'm making pink stuff... woo hoo! :)
(And if you don't know what pink stuff is, you're missing out... trust me... :) )
1. Have you ever made a wish that came true? I tend to make a lot of wishes, even about things that I know will turn out in the way that I want them to... so that doesn't really count, I suppose... :)
2. How about any wishes that you are happy never came true? Aside from half hearted wishes that various people were no longer alive... or that I never had to deal with them again... :)
3. Do you like who you are? Are you the person you hoped you would become? Yeah, I'd have to say I am pretty pleased with how I turned out... there may be some other people who aren't entirely happy, but that's bound to happen...
4. I recently found some job applications that I never turned in. Back in 1986 I intended to apply at "County Seat" and "Chess King" but got an offer from Penny's (where I worked all through college). It was a good thing, since only one of the three is still around. Have you ever applied for positions, or had any interviews, where you later are glad you never got the job? Not that I can think of... but I haven't been through many job interviews... :)
5. While on the topic of career opportunities, what was your very first "real" job? What job was the most embarrassing? Ugh, McDonalds... and I guess that would be the most embarrassing, but not for any specific reason... other than the fact that I worked there for four full summers...
6. Speaking of news, have you had your 15 minutes of fame yet? Such as being in the newspaper, on television, linked on a high-profile site or otherwise caught in the spotlight of the media? Nope, I'm still waiting! :)
7. In the USA, many of us will celebrate Thanksgiving this week. Do you celebrate Thanksgiving (or something like it)? Do you enjoy getting together will your extended family for these types of celebrations? Yeah, I will consume mass quantities of turkey and other foods on Thursday... yum yum... :) Won't be seeing my family for Thanksgiving, but that's okay... :)
BONUS: Where is the tenderness? On that one tape, with that song... :)
Friday - American Frontier was kewl, despite fairly low turnout, and an early ending time, due to the Student Center closing early. And although the game is very much NOT about racking up the KEWL POWERZ, diablerie rocks... I got the equivalent of 8 XP out of my one diablerie, and Gabe got the equivalent of 21 XP out of his two... so Jack and Jubilee are getting to be fairly decent characters, stats wise... AND they're still growing in other ways as well... Jack took his first damage since we started playing the game, and Jubilee frenzied... frenzy is not a happy place to be for her... luckily, Jack can talk her down from it with two words: "I'm fine"... but it's still not happy in the limited time before he can spit those words out... :)
Then since game ended early, we got to go to Jason / Nick / Phil's and party for a little bit... no drinking games, but still lots of fun... :)
Saturday - After the grocery shopping, we watched "Ginger Snaps"... for those who don't know, "Ginger Snaps" was a straight-to-video werewolf flick... not quite B-movie status, but not exactly the best werewolf movie ever (no, I'm not sure what does qualify as "best. werewolf movie. ever.") So why, you may ask, did the ScaryWhiteGirl subject herself to this movie? Well, in the Forgotten, Dani has an offer to take the lead role in a horror flick... specifically, "Ginger Snaps"... so I figured it might be a good idea if I had seen the movie that she will be allegedly starring in... :) And having seen it, it's right up Dani's alley... :)
Anyways, Forgotten was at Robb's house that night, and after driving past it twice, we found the driveway entrance, and got inside... it was SOOOOOOO hot in there... and I had dressed for the cold. Things went smoothly enough as far as game went, and out of game, everyone who got to eat the brownies I had made said they were good... and I got to play with my buddy Logan... he just turned 1 this past week... :) Shannon got him to fall asleep on the couch, but then he was taking up so much of it that I had her move him onto my lap... where he got to sleep for a little while, before all of us gamers disturbed his rest... go figure... :) He's gonna be so much fun when he starts talking a lot... which is inevitable, I'm sure... :)
Sunday - I was all kinds of lazy... :) But we watched "Wonder Boys," which was really good... very amusing... :)
And that's about it... :)
This week is gonna be nice, since I only work today and tomorrow... took Wednesday off so I could have a five day weekend for Thanksgiving... nice... :) All this really means, of course, is that I probably won't be blogging after Tuesday... :)
The Friday Five is gone till December... ah well, not like I've been doing many of those surveys lately... mostly they just haven't interested me... and sometimes I forget... :)
Anyways, the one thing I can never forget:
End of the Work Week Wisdom:
"Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past." --George Orwell
::..::
Watched Amadeus last night... I was kinda surprised how much I liked it! :)
Just checked imdb... the guy who played Mozart, Tom Hulce, it wasn't who we thought it was... (we thought it was the guy in PCU)... but no, he was in Animal House... so that musta been where we had seen him before... :)
And the Luke Wilson movie is called "Bottle Rocket"... there, now I'll remember it... (sorry, this is really just a note to myself for the next time we go to Blockbuster!)
Still feeling okay, though I wasn't feeling the greatest when I woke up at about 2:30 this morning... *sigh*... one of these days, I'll learn how to sleep all the way through the night, without waking up... one of these days... :)
I'm playing around, and looking at some music pages, because I got a kewl new CD last night... so far, I've really only looked at Cleopatra Records and Bella Morte's homepage... there was a really kewl looking logo for one of the bands that's on this CD, and I want to find out who it is... the logo was an ankh with wings... really nifty looking, to me...
Anyways, I'm busy-ish today... more later, maybe... :)
Stayed home yesterday, in an effort to go to the doctor's office, and get to feeling better. Failed in the first regard, but succeeded in the second... good enough for me!
We've been watching a lot of movies lately... finished up "The Stand" on Sunday night, despite my tape threatening to cut out completely throughout the entire last episode. Granted, I taped it the first time it was shown on TV... which, as best as I can figure, was probably the summer of 1992. So it's a ten-year-old tape... recorded on the 6 hr. speed... and I seem to remember either storms or some sort of problem with the TV station when I taped it... still, it was fun to watch!
We watched "Monsters, Inc." on Monday night, and that was sooooooo adorable... I really liked it... but I still insist that my closet doors MUST be closed before I go to bed at night... oddly, though, if I fall asleep during the day, it's not as big of a deal... weird, I know!
Then last night, we watched "200 Cigarettes"... kinda bizarre, but I liked it... LOTS of '80s music throughout the whole movie, which was kewl... I did notice, though that they played "Tainted Love" at least twice... which seemed kinda weird, cuz I don't remember hearing any of the other songs twice... *shrug*... who knows!
Anyways, that's about all I've done the past few days... it's good to finally be feeling a little bit better!
I'm tired this morning, and feeling a bit run down... but seeing as Gabe (probably) has strep throat, this isn't entirely surprising... hopefully I won't get strep too... but my throat isn't exactly happy right now... :(
American Frontier was pretty slow for most of the night... then there was combat, which the "big guns" got involved in, while the rest of us sat around and cheered... I was REALLY tired by that point, so I laid around and half cheered... we're playing this Friday, though we have to end the game early (Student Center closes at 10 p.m.)... not an entirely bad thing, it just means people need to get there on time, and game needs to start on the early side! :)
The Forgotten kicked a whole bunch of ass, of course... first off, I got to NPC one of my old PCs... this is the benefit of being a narrator, and the only female on staff... much easier to just let Dawn play the character... :) I nearly fell over when I looked at the character sheet that Thor updated for me, but it was definitely falling over in a good way... :) It's nice to see what a consistenly played character could look like... :) (NPCs in that game get 4 XP a month, just like a normal player would get for regular attendance.) Nothing major there, just letting some of the PCs know that yes, she is still around, and yes, she will help her clan if needed...
Then I got to play for a while with my favorite non-Nosfertau, Red... and he was gonna let me make him my ghoul, too! ACK! But I had to decline... something about the person who I'm fully bound to telling me no... but it was for a good reason, so I didn't complain too much... :)
Anyways, lots of craziness throughout the night, and all I gotta say is I am DAMN glad that the Prince and Seneschal both love me... :)
La la la... it's just now noon, and I've already eaten lunch and done most of the stuff I need to today... *sigh*... guess I ought to find something else to do for a while, cuz I've already been through just about all of my sites and such for today... a few times, in some instances... :)
American Frontier tonight, and hopefully there will be something of interest going on... while Camarilla games can get away with letting the players do the plotting, Sabbat doesn't work well in that respect... because the Cam is all about backstabbing and political manuevering... while it is a VERY rare Sabbat game that is about the same... especially because of the Vaulderie and all that... so it kinda falls on the STs to give us plot to react to... poor STs...
Forgotten tomorrow, where there will definitely be things of interest going on... perhaps too many things of interest, in fact! But that's not entirely a bad thing... :)
End of the Work Week Wisdom:
"Insanity is not a matter of degrees!" --Auryn's (Minta's) response to Peaches' (Cindy's) request that Lucas (Gabe) be less crazy...
Note to my local readers: it's gonna be COLD this weekend... like in the lower 20s... doesn't look like any snow yet, but I imagine that's coming soon as well.
I'm not really sure if I want it to snow this winter or not. On the one hand, it can be really pretty when it snows. I also don't have to drive to work this year, and it's not too far of a walk. But on the other hand, southern Illinois snow is really more like sleet / freezing rain / other ickiness... things that are unpleasant to deal with whether driving or walking. So I suppose I wouldn't mind some real genuine snow, but the fake stuff is not allowed...
It's the middle of November... why am I thinking about snow already?!?! Guess it's cuz the weather is turning into real winter weather, as opposed to fall weather... still, it's hard to believe Halloween was only 2 weeks ago...
Went home early yesterday, to try to get some rest and get to feeling better... we watched "In Dreams," which was kinda kewl, but a bit disturbing... then hit LJS for dinner, and then came home to watch about 2 hours or so of "The Stand," which I hadn't seen in ages... now I really wanna go find that book and re-read it... as if I didn't have enough other stuff to read... *sigh*...
So, yeah... back at work, and bored already... there isn't a whole lot to do today, at least not that I can see right now... so I'll either be bored, or find something vaguely amusing to work on... probably the former... *sigh*...
Once again, my comments seem to have dried up. I suppose that's not entirely a bad thing, because I read other peoples' pages, and they complain about the rude comments that get left for them... luckily, I don't seem to attract that type.
I'm feeling really out of it at the moment, so forgive me if I say things that don't entirely make sense... :)
We went CD shopping last night, though we didn't come home with much. I got "Your Arsenal," by Morrissey, which is something that I had many years ago... yeah, many many years ago, seeing as it came out in 1992! I also picked up "Puzzle," by Dada, on CD... I have it on tape, but I still don't have a functioning tape player... we can play CDs on the computers, or the DVD player, or my alarm clock, or even (god forbid) my actual CD player, but the tape player that is attached to my CD player has been broken for ages... so slowly but surely, I'm trying to pick up CD versions of some of my favorite tapes... it'll take a while... :)
There were a couple of other CD sets that I wanted, but I couldn't bring myself to buy them... found a Ministry "box set" that has "Land of Rape and Honey," "Psalm 69," and one other CD in it... it was really tempting, but I didn't want to spend the $27 (or was it $24)... I also found a 4 CD goth compilation that I don't have yet, called "Goth Box"... it was either $24 or $27, so that was another thing that just went back to the shelf.
I've also been rereading a lot of Sandman lately, which is always fun. I had been trying to get Gabe to read them for a while, cuz I knew that he would enjoy them. He finally sat down with the first graphic novel, and flew through it... then on to the second... :) Then I had to buy the 3rd and 5th books, so he could continue reading... :) Gonna have to pick up the last two that I need (8 and 10, I think) sooner or later...
It's really wonderful though, because Gabe will make a comment about something, and I have to bite my tongue about how that will become a LOT more significant later and such... so I just respond with "Gaiman is a genius"... :) Ahhh, the benefits of having already read the whole series... gotta thank John F. for that... he had almost the entire run (75 issues) in the actual comic format... so I only had to go to the graphic novels for a couple of issues, and he had those also!
My archives are still MIA, at least on the blogger page... *sigh*... I did notice, though, that I'm not the only one... Gabriel's are all gone, and Gwarocks and the Old Man are both missing theirs for October and November... so there's something wrong with the blogger archiving system, I'm thinking... :)
My throat is rather sore today, so I may not be here for the full day... we'll see...
For now, I need to get some work done... more later, maybe...
We didn't have ANY internet all morning, till 9:30... couldn't even access my work E-mail, or the library site... that's bad!
Also, the room above my office is some sort of mechanical room... so usually there is something up there humming away. It keeps going quiet, today. I think it may be the heating/air conditioning, as there are often workers up there at the change of seasons, tinkering with the mechanical stuff. So I may be shivering in my office by tomorrow... that's also bad!
So the library seems to be falling down around my ears... they keep talking about renovations, but what we really need is a whole new library... but with all of the budget problems the university has been having, I don't think we're going to get a new building... the renovations even seem kinda iffy to me!
But hey, I've been getting work done, even if the library sucks... :)
::..::
Spent entirely too long at Blockbuster last night, trying to find a movie or two to rent... the problem was that the three we wanted to get (40 Days and 40 Nights, Death to Smoochy, and Frailty) were all only 2 night rentals... and we've been spoiled with getting week long rentals every time we've gone prior to this... so we ended up with American Beauty and In Dreams...
Then we watched American Beauty last night, which I really liked. It wasn't at all what I had suspected... I thought quite a bit of it was funny, mainly just how stereotypical and predictable a lot of the characters were to me... it was as though they took personality types and gave them names...
Yeah, we watch a lot of movies... it's relatively cheap entertainment, so I can't complain too much! :)
Yeah, I know I'm posting a lot today... I actually worked this morning, while my boss was out, and got my desk all the way cleaned off... color me impressed... and out of things to work on... *sigh*...
I'm also trying to figure out what the heck happened to my archives. Like I said before, they're all still on my FTP site... so I didn't lose any data... the problem seems to be that when I tell Blogger to publish my archives, it only publishes them for February (the first month I used Blogger) and November (the current month)... the other ones just don't publish, or even show up as available to be published. So the list of archives you see below has been manually reconstructed... unfortunately meaning that any changes I make to the links on my page won't show up there... *sigh*... this, of course, will be an ongoing problem that I'm trying to fix... so if you have any good ideas, just let me know...
Cindy got me the Palla pictures on Friday night, and I might come back in this evening to scan them... I'll put up links as soon as I get them back! :) And then I need to start taking more pictures on the roll that's in my camera, so I can get my pictures from Halloween developed... then you can see the ScaryWhiteGirl all gothed out... w00t! :)
Steve is nuts... Steve is also on the front page of the paper on campus today... if you want to see Steve being nuts and on the front page, go here... :)
Still not working... if anyone has any ideas, let me know. The files are still all on my FTP site, so if I have to, I'll just manually reconstruct the links... but it's annoying to have to do that!
Back at work after a really kewl weekend... kinda sucks, but I'll get over it... and I'm actually doing work while I'm reading my lj's and blogs, so that's an accomplishment! :)
Friday game was good, though it sucked that 4 PCs got to go kill Cammies in an in-week scene (that turned into a "tonight" scene), while the rest of us sat around and wondered how we would find the Cammies... *sigh*...
Saturday game just plain out ROCKED... the Praxis went off without a hitch, and even more smoothly than we anticipated... some of the preparations we had made didn't even come into play! So now Peaches is back in the Prince chair, and Lucas is her Seneschal... I get to keep Chief Harpy, cuz only one Primogen seat looks like it's going to change. Not bad! :) The best part, of course, was Gabe dressing up like D, and Lucas pretending to be D for the beginning of the night... it was REALLY funny when Jason (who played D) was sitting across from Gabe, and their characters were interacting... it made a lot of people laugh... the most disturbing thing, though, was that when Gabe put his hair up in the hat, and put on the glasses, he actually looked a LOT like Jason... cept that Gabe has sideburns, and Jason doesn't... we even used eyeliner to give Gabe a mole above his lip... I wish I would have thought to take a picture... *sigh*...
New story on the fiction page... it's another Sabbat story, so I won't link to it directly... but it's the background that Gabe and I wrote for our Sabbat pack, the Twisted Little Fuckers... that ought to be enough of a warning on the content... :) Just scroll down and look for "Jubilee and Jack" under the old backgrounds section of the page... :)
Girl on a Bus has an alternate Friday list this week...
1. If this planet wasn't named Earth, what would you name it? Bob.
2. Does 'black' go with everything? Hell yes. Except maybe brown, though it can go with certain shades of brown.
3. What one food/drink gets your bowels moving the fastest? Umm... ewww!
4. Out of all of the hardwoods, which makes the best wood for building montain dulcimers? Uhhhh... well, to properly answer this question, I would have to know what a mountain dulcimer is, other than some sort of musical instrument... so we shall say... fish.
5. Do you sprinkle Parmesian cheese on your pasta? No, but I have been known to sprinkle shredded mozzerella cheese on my pasta... and frequently mix pepperoni into the spaghetti sauce... just a little something I learned when I went to Arizona... :)
The Friday Five this week is all about voting and politics and such, so I'm not gonna do it this week...

End of the Work Week Wisdom:
"I killed your cat! I thought that it would bring closure to our relationship!" --Rocco in Boondock Saints
Funny movie... we watched it last night... I wish I would have seen it earlier, cuz I really liked it!
::..::
In other news, it's supposed to get up to 70 today... and I'm inside, again... *sigh*... well, at least I don't have to completely bundle up for game tonight... w00t! :)
It is sooooooo gorgeous outside today... and I'm cooped up at work... *sigh*... with daylight savings time, it's almost dark when I walk home at 4:30... by the time I've eaten dinner and gotten that cleaned up, it IS dark out... no fun! :(
Well, at least I got to have lunch outside... that's a rarity, for November!
The things people have searched for to find my site this week... (aside from the usual bunch of "scary" this and that...)
"what happens the day after you've take belladonna" - well, I wouldn't know... and no, the "take" is not my typo, which is why I put it in bold... just so ya'll don't think the editor chick is slipping... :)
"LARP movies" - hell, yes... we've been talking about this... some of us LARPers are all about writing a movie, starring in it, and all that good stuff... now to see if we can actually get it off the ground! :)
"kleene brilliant" - okay, sure... why do I get the impression this is a cleaning solution of some sort... :)
In other news, the heater at my apartment is now functioning properly... there was a switch in the hall closet that had been turned off, which was why the fan never kicked on... *sigh*... silly silly mechanical stuff...
In response to a comment / question that I received, yes, I've heard of (and played) Dungeons and Dragons... but I don't play much of it any more. The last game I was in ended when the DM joined the Navy... oh, and speaking of, happy belated birthday, Jason! :)
Yeah, yeah... I was sickish yesterday... bad Dawn, reading without her glasses = bad headache... no fun!
But, more importantly...
::..::
Bad. Goth. Poetry.
(Yeah, I know I was gonna save this for later in the week, but I can't help it... it's too amusing...)
Okay, so I have a LOT of goth compilation CDs. I was sorta collecting them for a while. Most are relatively good, and there are a few nifty bands that I've discovered as a result. Well, with Halloween being last week, I was inflicting a lot of these CDs on Gabe... I suppose it isn't REALLY inflicting them on someone if he enjoys them, but you get the point... lots of goth music... :)
So one of the bands that he really liked was the Crüxshadows... which happens to be one that I like as well... so he bought their CD (Telemetry of a Fallen Angel) online, and it arrived at his house yesterday... so of course we have to listen to it... okay, not too bad at first, you can tell it's their first CD, cuz the recording is a little less than perfect... and there was one song where I thought the synthesizer music was going to drive me batty, but I can live with it...
Until we get to "Prometheus"... bad. goth. poetry. Set to music, sorta. I couldn't decide if I should laugh or run screaming... and then, the last line: "This Nail Shall Represent Hope"... hehehehehhe... yeah, I lost it when it got to that line... :)
Anyways, though, other than that little amusement, it's a really good CD... though I do agree with Gabe that "Marilyn, My Bitterness V. 2.0" is far better than the original... hmmm... kinda like "Until the End of the World" by Apoptygma Berzerk... the remix is SOOOO much better than the original... but let's not get started on their version of "Fade to Black"... Thor might frenzy... :)
Okay, usually I save my search results to post on Thursdays, but I was just checking my site stats, so I could make my list for this week... I have about 2 dozen people that found my site by searching for "madison halloween riots"... which refers either to my favorite stuffed cat or the place in Wisconsin, and that which Carbondale is known for (we didn't have any riots this year, BTW)... did I miss something? This is what I get for never watching the news... :)
1. Have you ever had to appear in court? What was the reason? How did it turn out? Nope, though I got called for jury duty once (and got to leave after like an hour...)
2. Ever been accused of something you never did? Were you able to convince anyone? Well, there was the time when I was helping my brother climb the fence, and he got caught... he started crying (we were fairly young), and my mom came outside... she thought that I had made him climb the fence, but I was just helping him do what he wanted to do... I got grounded for a week... :(
3. When it comes to crime and punishment, do you agree with the saying "An eye for an eye?" 'An eye for an eye, and the whole world would be blind.' -Kahlil Gibran
4. Are you a judgemental person? Do you ever make up your mind about a person before you know them? When was the last time that happened? Or if not, how do you keep from being judgemental? Hmmm... I try not to be too judgemental, but I do make up my mind about some people without really knowing them... mostly, that's after having heard bunches of stories from other people... though that's not necessarily a good idea, because I've learned that stories have a tendency to get exaggerated and such...
5. When I was in 6th grade I lit a match in class accidentally and was given the choice of having my folks called or getting 10 "swats." I took swats and damn, that wooden paddle with the holes drilled in it hurt like hell (not to mention the horible whistling sound it made before impact). I don't think they allow "swats" anymore. Ever get "swats" at school? How do you feel about children being spanked in school. Is it best that they don't do that anymore? How about parents spanking kids? Good or bad? I don't think we got "swats" at school, despite the fact that I went to Catholic school until after high school... I heard that when the kids in my class at my 2nd grade school were small, they did get "swats" from the nuns, but I wasn't there for that... :)
6. What is your favorite "Chick Flick?" Ugh... I don't really like chick flicks, despite being female... but I do kinda like Steel Magnolias... :)
7. Describe the last situation you were in that can best be summed up by the phrase "seemed like a good idea at the time?" Going out on Thursday night... it was a good idea, but I paid for it all weekend... I'm recovered now, I think!
BONUS: Who will bury us when we die? I don't wanna be buried! I don't wanna die! :)
::..::
Got to work late tonight, as I had a doctor's appointment this morning... just a follow up from my kidney stones in April... and I'm much better now... just gotta make myself drink more water... I'm completely off of soda now, though I can't get rid of chocolate entirely... especially not with how COLD it's been in my apartment all weekend... I think the pilot light went out on the heater... the landlord should be looking at it today! I'd fix it myself, if I could get into the spot where the heater is... but the panel doesn't seem to want to detach itself from the wall... *sigh*...
Palla Grande was AWESOME, and all the players seemed to have a good time... I had a lot of fun getting to ST in a LARP again, though I don't want to do it full time... Gabe and I did volunteer for running Festivo, though... :) Gotta love Sabbat special events! :)
And the Forgotten was just... wow... SOOOOOO much stuff going on, and I'm right in the middle of it all... which reminds me, I have a post I need to make on the IC board, sooner or later...
The sun finally came out, and the view out the library windows is GORGEOUS! Wish I had some time to go look at trees this weekend, but I suppose I'll have to content myself with watching out the window as we drive around... that'll do... :)
Only a couple more hours of work this morning, then shopping... and I've decided that I'm gonna try to get that "Ice Vampire" makeup at Wal-Mart, and see how it works... hopefully there will be pictures to come! :)
1. Were you raised in a particular religious faith? I was raised Catholic, and we were the type of Catholics who went to church every Sunday, and on all of the holy days... I also went to Catholic school until I got out of high school... in my first grade school, that meant we went to the chapel to do the rosary every morning in Lent, and in my second grade school, that meant Mass twice during each school week... in high school it was a bit more laid back...
2. Do you still practice that faith? Why or why not? Nope, sure don't. When I went away to college, I kept going to Mass for all of about a month... then I stopped, because I didn't have to. It used to be that when I would go back home, to visit my parents, they would still make me go to Mass... then they stopped that too... so if I went on Christmas and Easter, I was doing good... now I don't go at all. Organized religion really isn't my thing...
3. What do you think happens after death? I think that reincarnation is a very interesting possibility, and I'm more inclined to go with that than any of the other options I've heard.
4. What is your favorite religious ritual (participating in or just observing)? As much as I hated being dragged to church while I was in college, one of the priests at the second grade school I went to (where my sisters still were) started this thing around Christmas called "liturgical movement"... it was basically a bunch of the kids from the grade school with candles, sorta dancing to Mannheim Steamroller... it was kewl the first time I saw it, but it never changed, and got kinda old after a while... it wasn't exactly a religious ritual, but it was neat...
5. Do you believe people are basically good? Most of them, yeah...

End of the Work Week Wisdom:
"I've apparently been going to the wrong bars!" --Thor, after the wet T-shirt contest at Traz
::..::
So since Copper Dragon was having bluegrass bands, we tried to go to Mugsy's instead... but for claiming to have a "dance party," there was an awful lot of sitting going on in there... so we went to Pinch instead, which Nick claimed was "packed"... well, it wasn't, there was no dancing, and there was much bad music... but we had a table, and we got free T-shirts cuz we had costumes... w00t! :)
From there we ended up going to Traz (or whatever it's called now), and were a little bit disappointed at first, but it filled up eventually... even went and danced for a little bit... :) And poor Little Dave... I don't even think that telling the gay boys "I'm straight" (which he is) helped much... ah well...
So yeah, got home at like 12:30 (way past my bedtime!), and here I am now... only a half day today, then shopping in C-dale and Marion, cuz we decided that Paducah is too far away for just one store, and we're on a bit of a schedule... Palla tonight HAS to start as close to 7 p.m. as we can, or we'll be wrapping up outside... and it's WAY too cold for that!
