Random ramblings cuz I have nothing better to do... or something... :)
This is the site formerly known as Anneke's Haven. Within, you will find information about my previous White Wolf chronicles, and other random gaming related stuff. I also have a blog here, where I talk about pretty much everything and anything, though it's primarily about my exciting life... the definition of exciting definitely being up for debate.
Enjoy your visit, and come back soon!

Go me... Orpheus character sheets are all done! :) It's nice that I have a pretty good guess as to who 3 out of my 5 players will be, and I have a hint about a 4th... so I made characters with the players in mind... things that I think they will enjoy playing, and that I will enjoy watching them play... :)

Now, if my back would only stop hurting, it would be a very good day...

Hmm... I've neglected to post for more than a week... wow...

I still haven't done anything for my Orpheus game. This is probably in direct correlation with the fact that I haven't seen a pre-reg packet yet... when I see one of those, it'll make me realize more that I need to get to work... then again, we're gonna run by Castle P later today, so yeah... hopefully I'll have a pre-reg packet soon...

I'm off work next Tuesday, which will be a nice treat... we get very few days off work in the spring semester... MLK Jrs. b-day and Memorial Day, the latter of which is technically AFTER spring semester ends... I took next Tuesday off cuz I have an oddly scheduled mid-morning drs. appointment (check-up, nothing major)... then I'm taking my birthday and the day after off this year, partially because E-con starts the day after my b-day... and I'm probably only gonna work mornings over Spring Break, since Gabe's off school that whole week, and we should be filming our movie... maybe...

I'll probably have to take a day or two in April and May, just to break up the monotony... oooh, day after Gabe's b-day might be a good idea... though it's a Sunday, so it's not like we can go bar hopping (nor would we want to, really... not till they ban smoking in bars... yuck!)...

My LARP is going well, though influence has been kicking my ass... we made a couple of changes, to see if that will improve things; we've also got some other ideas on how to make it easier if need be... we're usually looking at a dozen players any given week, which isn't bad at all... we have 5 STs (soon to be 4), and they still keep us pretty busy... *sigh*... :) I've got one NPC I get to play pretty regularly (she owns the place where they all hang out), and I'll get to play another one tomorrow... and bit parts here and there... :)

That's pretty much it, really...the boring life of the SWG... :)

Go me... I copied the Orpheus character sheets last night... now I just need to find time to sit down with the book and figure out the characters... :) Sunday is looking promising, perhaps... :)

We found "Donnie Darko" on video at Wal-Mart for $4... yeah, I'd rather have the DVD, but how can you turn down a $4 movie? We also got "Titan A.E." which is a big favorite of mine... I could probably watch the scene with the space angels for hours... it helps that they're playing a song by The Urge, which I love... :)

Oddly enough, Gabe noticed another time inconsistency in "Donnie Darko"... when Donnie asks Samantha what will happen if she tells on him, she says "You'll put Ariel down the garbage disposal"... but "Little Mermaid" came out in 1989, and the movie is set in 1988... score one for Gabe... :)

Been working a lot on Gabe's genealogy, in my spare time... I've discovered two things:

1) He's about as American as you can get... meaning that (at least on the line I'm working on) his family has been in the U.S. since before it was the U.S., and they're from EVERYWHERE before that...
2) He's descended from the Plantagenets about 15 times over... well, that is, if I can ever get enough evidence to prove those lines... once I can get it to a certain point, the documentation is all out there... it's just getting it to that point...

Ah well, at least it's something to do, since my lines are all dead ends till I hear back from South Carolina on my great-grandma's death certificate... hopefully it will open up another avenue for research! :)

Argh... I'm far too busy again... mostly game is kicking my ass, but I've got other crap I need to be working on as well... so when you add all of it together, you have a very busy Dawn...

And gee, I mentioned needing to work on E-Con stuff last week, and I haven't done a damn thing... because I'm lazy... :) The truth is that I've got the basic story worked out, and I've read through the system once, but I still need to actually sit down and create characters... blah...

I suppose I might be more inspired if the pre-reg packets were already out... but they aren't... *grumble*...

Oh, funniest thing last night... Gabe turned on the TV as we were getting ready to go to bed, and said "hey, there's something about vampires on TV"... it was on PBS, and I went into the bedroom just in time to see a certain former LARP ST, who ran Washington (and the game set there) into the ground (hint: mummy)... he was being credited as a "Vampire Expert"... to which I responded in a statement laden with obscenity, though basically saying "no, he's not"... then another certain former LARP ST, also associated with the running of Washington into the ground (hint: Infernal bishop), credited as a "Vampire Historian"... who then proceed to call Bram Stoker, "Bram Stroker"... *sigh*... oh, and then another certain former LARP ST (hint: the other Infernal bishop), but at least they just called him a "Vampire Enthusiast"... that one I'll buy...

Anyway, as it turns out, this was apparently the night that the college group that films stuff for PBS came to game... oddly enough, I think I wasn't there for that one... :) But it was very amusing to see a lot of the former LARPers... Brenna, Duff, Ventura... it was a riot... :)

Well, I suppose I should work...
