Well, rather than run down all of the movies I've watched this past week, which was a lot, but mostly things I own and have already seen many many times, I've just got one movie to mention this week.

"Napoleon Dynamite." Rock on.

Now I know at least a couple of people who hated this movie. But I still wanted to see it anyway. And I ended up loving it.

Yes, it's kinda odd. Yeah, it's a bit slow, overall. And yeah, definitely weird as hell. But it's hilarious!

I think part of the reason I may have liked it was because I _knew_ that kind of person when I was in high school. I hung out with the geeks. And while my friends weren't quite as bad as Napoleon and Pedro and Deb, there were times when we weren't far off... :) I think I might have liked it so much because I was like "wow, we were geeks, but we were never THAT geeky... that makes us a little cool..." :)

Anyways, yeah. Good movie. I liked it, and that's what matters... :)

::..::

In other news, Brat Pack ROCKED, though I am a little sad that their show had to overlap with the Punk Rock Prom, because Thor told me that one of the bands there might be doing an all Cure cover set... damn...

End of the Work Week Wisdom:

"Please understand. We don't want no trouble. We just want the right to be different. That's all."
--from the liner notes to "Different Class" by Pulp

Because I have Pulp on the brain at the moment, because I discovered that on Eddie Izzard's "Definite Article," in the documentary bit "Je Suis a Stand-up," he's listening to Pulp at a party in one scene, and watching a Pulp video in his hotel room in another scene... rock on... :)

That, and how can you NOT like a band that has a song called "Seductive Barry"?

And yeah, that pretty much covers all of the "in other news"... :) Fridays are short post days... :)

Craftiness, eh? Well, yeah, I've been doing a bit of that... :)

I've been churning out roses for the Valentine's Day craft fair. I think I have about 50 done at the moment, and I made a list of what I hoped to get done in time for that... I'm about halfway done, if I really am as ambitious as I pretend to be sometimes... :) I'm also making some heart pins, which are pretty easy to do, but I'm just not sure how many of those I'll get done... I have maybe half a dozen of those so far... :)

As best as I can tell, I finished J's afghan in about 15-20 hours. That was kewl as hell. It's nice and warm, too. Might have to make more like that one... :)

I also managed to make a little collar with a D-ring on it, after getting an IC request for one at the last Paducah game. :) Unfortunately, it's a bit big, but it fit Vlad (my stuffed dog), so he gets to wear it now. :) Need to make another, though, as I've decided that Star needs one... :)

And Kent wants some hats... Kent, you need to tell me how many you're wanting, cuz I probably have some already made that will work, and aren't pink or rainbow... :)

Not much to report on the music front. Since my playlist is now up to like 3,700 songs, I've been making sub-playlists, and working on those a lot lately. I now have an 80s playlist, a cover song playlist, a "mellow" playlist, a techno playlist, and now what I call the "girly loudness" playlist.

It's mostly a list for songs that make me want to dance around and sing really loudly. Mostly all female artists, with a few odd exceptions... like "Bodies" by Drowning Pool, "One Step Closer" by Linkin Park, "Just Like Heaven" by The Cure, "Click Click Boom" by Saliva... :) It still needs a bit of work, as I just dumped some bands in there wholesale, and was more choosy with others. So it will be a process of whittling it down / building it up into what I want. It'll be nice for when I'm in that sort of mood... :)

And I'll probably make more playlists, as time goes on... I just don't have any other super kewl ideas right now. Cuz I tried to make a goth playlist at one point, and realized that 2/3rds of my music was in it, and that was with being a little bit picky... so yeah... I have a bit of gothy stuff... :)

::..::

In other news, I must have slept funny on my shoulder, as it's being grumpy at me. *sigh*... if it's not one thing, it's something else, ya know? :) Can't complain too much, though, because it's only a minor annoyance, and pretty much the only one I've got right now. Well, other than having more meetings than god between this morning and tomorrow morning... :)

So even though I'm off work today, I suppose I should hold to my usual posting schedule, as there were two games this past weekend.

I wasn't really at the Friday game long enough to say much about it, other than it was fairly small, though there were a lot of visiting players. Mel finally appointed a lesser Harpy, in the form of Simon... while Dawn thinks OOC that this is gonna bite me in the ass someday, Mel is dumb, and thus makes some dumb choices from time to time. :) And it's only because of OOC knowledge I have that I know how bad of an idea this was... :) So we'll just keep it all IC, and go with it... :)

Game on Saturday was fun, as it typically is. I love being the little Lasombra who can sit back and throw Arms at people, and completely stay out of combat. I have discovered a great many things that I need for that character, though, and it's very slow going. Though I checked my XP history today, and discovered that this was the 8th game. So yeah, we're advancing slowly, but we also haven't played much. It's just odd to only have 8 games between 4 months... but holidays will do that to you every time.

And that's about it. Now, I'm off to watch "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow," because I AM a pulp-era movie junkie, and thus bought the movie on the day it came out. :)

I had a lot of free time this past week, and thus watched a TON of movies... I also had people loaning me movies left and right, so that helped too... :)

"The Crow: City of Angels" (a.k.a. The Crow 2) - Having rewatched this movie, and having finally watched the third Crow movie (see below), I have finally discovered what the problem with them is. They aren't the first movie. Well, duh. But the problem is that "The Crow" is such a good movie that no sequel could even come close to it. That being said, this movie isn't quite as bad as I originally remembered it being. But that could be because I actually watched the third one the day before I rewatched this one... :)

"The Crow: Salvation" (a.k.a. The Crow 3) - Oh man was this a bad movie. Kirsten Dunst was pretty good, but Eric Mabius seemed like he was trying to channel Brandon Lee. There were so many of his facial expressions and moves and line deliveries that made it seem like he just wanted to be as much like Brandon Lee as possible. And that made me sad. Not in the Monaco "and that makes me sad" sort of way, but in a "why did Brandon have to die" sort of way... *sigh*...

"Spice World" - Yes, I watched Spice World. And you know what? I liked it. Yes, this is very wrong. But it was FUN, and funny. My sister owns it, you see, which is completely unsurprising to anyone who knows her. So she let me borrow it, and it amused me greatly. It's a total fluff movie, with no serious content at all, but it rocked... muchly... :)

"A Life Less Ordinary" - Yeah, I've seen this one before, of course, but I picked it up for cheap when I was in Paducah last weekend, and finally sat down and watched it the other day. It's just a cute and fun Ewan McGregor movie... :)

"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" - Another movie I picked up for cheap, and one I've wanted to get for a while. I've always been a big fan of the movie, but never saw the fascination with the show. Something new I discovered this time around: Ben Affleck is in this movie, though he's not in the credits. He plays one of the basketball players on the other team. If you watch it, you can't miss him. He's on screen for long enough for you to go, "hey, that's Ben Affleck!" :)

"Ghost World" - I've been wanting to see this one for a while; Gabe had seen it and said it wasn't all that great. Sadly, I think I have to agree with him. It was just sorta weird and quirky... it was like it was trying to be all artsy, and just kinda wasn't. It had some funny bits, but mostly it was just there. I'd be interested in reading the comic it's based on if I could find someone who owned it.

"Confidence" - Now this one was fun... like Dennis had told me, it's the sort of movie you would like if you liked "The Italian Job," which I did. I think I liked this one a little bit more. And I dunno what it is, but Edward Burns has a really neat voice. Something between his voice and the cadence of his speech, and I was hooked... now I'm kinda curious to see some more of his stuff. And Rachel Weiss is ALWAYS a hottie... ;)

I think that's all... aside from watching a bit of "Stargate," a very tiny bit of "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead" (that movie is ALWAYS on if you have a sick number of channels), and a bunch of Eddie Izzard, including the French version of "Circle" (funny as hell, especially "Qu'est que c'est fuckin' dit?", because Eddie apparently doesn't know the French word for "fuck"... :) ).

In the absence of suggestions, we will simply make the End of the Work Week Wisdom something simple...

"There is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened."
--from "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe"

Can't believe I've never used that one before... :)

Well, the craftiness is picking up again, as I received a trash bag full of yarn on Friday night (thank you to Randy, Kristy, and J, all of whom played a part in it ultimately landing in my living room... :) ). The color selection was not one I would have bought for myself, but free yarn is free yarn, and there are three projects coming out of the bag already... with more to develop, I'm sure... :)

1) Afghan for my future niece, who will be born around the end of April
2) Afghan for my friend's son or daughter, who will be born around August
3) Afghan for J, because he likes orange, and there was orange yarn in the bag... :)

I'm also still working on roses for Valentine's Day, and dice bags for E-Con. Busy busy busy... :)

::..::

In other news, I am tired of the cold weather already, as it is making my skin painfully dry. And while I like the scent of my body lotion (warm vanilla sugar, of course), I don't much care for the fact that I have to coat myself in it every time I get out of the shower!

After receiving 13 discs of MP3s over the weekend (6 from Dennis, 7 from Thor), and going on a mad ripping spree last night, I know have about 3,500 songs on my computer. About 250 of these are covers. I have to approximate, because I'm pretty sure I missed a few when putting together my cover playlist, and because I've discovered that there were a few duplicates (mostly in the Reel Big Fish / Me First and the Gimme Gimmes range...).

All told, the most covers I have of any one song is "Send Me an Angel," of which there are 3: Zeromancer, Thrice (?), and Paul Oakenfold. Sadly, I still don't have the original. More sadly than that, I don't even know who did the original... *sigh*...

Most of the covers I ended up with are of the quasi-punk variety... I say quasi-punk, because Reel Big Fish, Good Charlotte, New Found Glory, and Me First and the Gimme Gimmes aren't REAL punk... they just pretend... :) But their covers aren't too bad... :)

In addition to all of the covers, I've also gotten some other really good stuff. "The Vampire Club" by Voltaire is an absolute riot. I finally re-obtained the song from the rave scene in Blade... which is apparently a New Order song, remixed to hell and back! I have more Bella Morte and Switchblade Symphony than ever before, and it rocks. And I have Shakira. Yes, Shakira. No, it's not goth. It's Latin dance-y music. And I LOVE it. It makes me want to dance and sing my heart out, and that can be all kinds of fun... :) And Seth J., I'm gonna be burning you a new CD, because you need to check her stuff out... at least the English songs... :)

Nope, no post yesterday, between being off work, and not having the ability to get online until after noon. So no movie post this week, which is okay, because I think I only watched one movie since my last movie post. And I have a whole stack to watch now, so next week will be a nice post... :)

As for gaming, had a really good time at the Paducah game on Sunday, despite being tired and taking a nap when the rest of the game went to fight the Sabbat. Mel may be a warriador by where her points have gone, but Dawn is not a combat-savvy player, so thus Mel does not go into combat. :) I did, however, make 10 roses, got some excellent and fun gossip, almost adopted an Irish Toreador (who I thought was Caitiff), and helped with the creation of a superhero, the "Super Tremere of the Domain," also known as STD. :)

Yeah, there is always much insanity when you have a handful of Toreador and a Brujah sitting around doing not much of true value... :)

Probably actually going to be at the Friday game for the bulk of it this week, though we will see. It'll probably depend upon how late I'm up on Thursday night, and whether we really are going to see Hairbanger's Ball or not... I have a lot I need to get done, though, so hopefully I can be around long enough to do all of that... :)

And the Sabbat game returns on Saturday night, so this weekend will just be chock full of game... :)

::..::

In other news, over the weekend, I received 13 CDs of MP3s. Will there be ranting tomorrow? I do believe there may be... or I may change things up and talk about the stuff I liked... :)

I don't have much in the way of End of the Work Week Wisdom this week, but I would like to share things that are wrong:

1) People throwing chickens at other people.
2) Chicken catapults.
3) Joy Giovanni.
4) Joy Giovanni not being put in a coffin.

All of this brought to you by watching Smackdown for the first time in several months... :)

I would also like to share things that should be wrong, but aren't:

1) Blow stuff up. Blow more stuff up. Blow the living crap out of stuff. Blow the living crap out of stuff some more. Etc.
2) Voicemails that do not contain a single intelligible word, yet still make you laugh for a good five minutes straight.

That is all. :)

The crafting front has definitely died down since Christmas, though I suppose I should really be working harder on the upcoming craft fair for Valentine's Day, and the crafty stuff I need to make for our table at E-Con. But I'm mostly lazy, and have a tendency to sit in front of my computer for a long time and accomplish very little. Or at least that's what I did last night.

I did manage to free form a leaf the other night, which I was pretty proud about. For those not familiar with crochet, all this really means is that I made a leaf without using a pattern. Go me! :) Actually, I had a pattern, but it sucked... so I modified it till I liked it. At any rate, roses look far better when they have leaves, so this is a good thing. :)

I'm beginning to get the hang of putting fairly basic symbols on hats as well. I could do lettering, too, I'm relatively confident. Thus far, Jim S. got a hat with the Sabbat symbol on it, and I made myself a hat with a star on it. The star isn't the greatest, but it's basically a costume piece for the new Cam game, and it's cute enough... :) Still couldn't have managed the Decepticon symbol in crochet, but Samwise's hat turned out fine anyway... :)

Still haven't done hardly any of my sewing. I'm still waiting to get some stuff out of my computer room, so that I can put the sewing machine back in there, and leave it out all the time. That way, I'll actually do some sewing more often... :)

Breaking from the usual pattern of things for a Wednesday movie post... more specifically, I've just been through the 2005 release dates, and have compiled my lists of things that might be interesting to see this year... :)

The Irish Vampire Goes West - Feb. 10. It's an indy movie, so the chances of it actually showing in C-dale are pretty slim. Still, I can hope, can't I? :)

Constantine - Feb. 18. Ugh. I know I'm gonna hate it, but I have to see it. Stupid Keanu Reeves... ooh, but Gavis Rossdale (from Bush) is in it, so that's not all bad... :)

Sin City - April 1. I really don't know a whole lot about this, except that it's based on a comic book, and my friend Shawn says it looks kewl. I'm waiting to see previews.

Valiant - April 15. Not a lot of info on this movie, but it's animated, and Ewan McGregor and Tim Curry do voices... hmmm...

The Amityville Horror (remake) - April 15. Haven't seen the original, probably won't see the sequel. But I thought I'd let people know it's coming out.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - May 6. w00t w00t! :) This is gonna rock!

Star Wars: Episode 3 - May 19 (a Thursday?!). I don't care how much 1 and 2 sucked, I'll see 3 in the theatre because I have ALWAYS seen Star Wars in the theatre. Since I was 2 years old!

Madagascar - May 27. J wants to see this because of the conspiratorial penguins. I'm for it, it looks cute.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith - June 10. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie playing assassins hired to kill each other... eye candy, if nothing else... :)

Batman Begins - June 17. Mmmm... Christian Bale... yeah, that's the main reason for seeing this.

War of the Worlds - June 29. Dunno if I have to see this in the theatre, but it will probably be kewl. It's got Tom Cruise and Dakota Fanning in it... :)

Fantastic Four - July 5. Hmmm... not too sure about this, but I suppose there will probably be an excursion to see it. Superhero movie and all that nonsense.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - July 15. w00t w00t! Been waiting for this one! :)

The Island - July 22. The plot sounds kinda odd, but it's Ewan McGregor, Sean Bean, and Scarlett Johannsen. Could be interesting... :)

The Devil's Rejects - Aug. 12. Oh god. It's a sequel to House of 1,000 Corpses. Oh god.

The Corpse Bride - Sept. 23. An animated Tim Burton movie with Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter doing the voices? I'm there! :)

Land of the Dead - Oct. 21. New George Romero. Not sure I'm personally interested, but I know some people who will be.

Lost Girls - Oct. 31. Somebody was telling me that this was gonna be a sequel to "The Lost Boys," and that Winona Ryder was in it. Well, neither of those things appear to be true, but it looks rather kewl nonetheless... supernatural beings mistaken for vampires... :)

Underworld: Evolution - Dec. 9. Hell yeah... a sequel to the vampire movie that was worth $5... but not much more than that... :) Meh, gotta see it.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe - Dec. 9. I read this book many many years ago, so I suppose I'll go see the movie... :)

There's other crap, too, like a new Harry Potter movie, a remake of The Fog, and some other nonsense... but these are the top picks for the year, thus far... :)

I have no covers to rant about at the moment... but that will change soon, I'm sure. Thor got me a list of all of his MP3s, and will be burning me a CD as soon as I return the list with what songs I want marked on it. He has over 5000 MP3s. He has many many many covers. Many many many covers of 80s songs. I will soon have many many many covers of 80s songs.

And I'm sure I'll rant about one or two of those... ;)

In other musical news, as of last night, I have 2,200 songs on my playlist. Approximately 20 of said songs are by Portishead. Interestingly, my playlist spat out 3 of those songs in the 2 hours that J was over last night. It also played a Placebo song. This is odd in that I got all of my Portishead and Placebo from J. I tell him that my playlist knows when he's around, and plays his music... :)

Seriously, though, what are the odds? I could try to do the math, but math is hard and sucks a lot. So we'll just call my playlist psychic, and be done with it.

And, finally, in other musical news, relistening to a lot of old goth comps, and realizing how little of it I have on my playlist... gotta remedy that... :)

Not much news on the gaming front. Gonna go to Paducah again on Sunday, though I don't have to drive this time, and I can stay for the whole game, as I'm off work next Monday... w00t! :) Mel's got several things going at the moment, I'm just waiting on some info from Dennis at the moment, to see which direction I'm going in next. I should probably send in in-weeks for my home chronicle too... :)

Apparently we were supposed to learn something in the Sabbat game last time, but seeing as it was over a month ago, I've apparently forgotten... but Cindy did too, so I don't feel too bad... :) Actually, I can think of a couple of lessons that could have been learned, but I'm not sure which one the STs were going for. Doesn't matter much, cuz Paz is just exceptionally pissed off at two other Cainites at the moment, and there BETTER be something done about that.

I worked a little on Star's background last night, but didn't get far... still waiting to hear back from the STs on a little bit of information, though I have managed to work around the lack of said information. And her soundtrack is finished, so that's kewl at least... :)

And then there's the upcoming Werewolf game, which will need a name soon, cuz, as I said when the Crystal Tower started, I hate just calling a game "my game"... especially this one, as it's not my game... I'm NOT head ST! But yeah, we need to work on that, but when the head ST is out of town, it's hard to do. And we sooooo need a third ST!

But yeah, that's about it at the moment...

A whole slew of movies, and most of them of the older variety, this past weekend.

"Nosferatu" (1922) - No, I hadn't seen this movie before. Oddly enough, in all of my vampire-movie-watching days, I stuck mostly with the newer movies. Poor choice, I'm now realizing, cuz I saw some BAD movies in those days. This, though, was awesome. It was very kewl to see the "original" vampire movie, and it's neat to see how many later actors and actresses drew upon bits of this movie in their interpretations of the various characters... cuz I don't care if the names are changed, this is "Dracula"... :)

"Dracula" (1931) - This is the Bela Lugosi version... the first real "Dracula" movie... very very odd, but very kewl. I'm not so sure about Bela just standing there and staring at people a lot of the time... but when he first came on the screen, it was incredibly kewl. Because no, I hadn't seen this one before either.

"Salem's Lot" (2004) - Yeah, this is the remake version. And oddly enough, I liked it a LOT better than the original. Except for the blue glitter. PH34R the blue glitter exploding vampires... no, really... sooooo scary... :) But seriously, I thought this one really followed the plot of the novel well, and thus I liked it. I also liked all of the voice-overs by Rob Lowe, as they were really poetic.

"High Plains Drifter" (1973) - Yet another one of the westerns that J has picked out for me to watch. And I liked this one, too. In fact, I'm kinda liking westerns all around. This one, in particular, I liked because it's almost got a little bit of a supernatural twist to it... and that's just kewl... :)

"Night of the Living Dead" (1968) - Okay, fine. I am a heathen, I call myself the ScaryWhiteGirl, and yet I don't watch horror movies. Well, this weekend pretty much makes up for that, I'd say. And now that I've actually seen this movie, I guess it's okay. I really wasn't all that impressed by it, honestly. It's definitely far more about the human condition than it is about zombies, and the acting just didn't impress me... though I wanted to smack Barbra a LOT!

"House on Haunted Hill" (1959) - Winning the prize for gayest. ending. ever. is the original House on Haunted Hill. I hope they made the ending better in the remake. I really do. But when I was thinking of the remake on Saturday night, it was actually "The Haunting" that I was talking about... not like that matters to anyone. :) Anyways, yeah. Not quite as bad as the World of Suck, but pretty damn bad. I was not impressed... though it did make me jump a few times! :)

So yeah, five horror-ish movies in one weekend... more like ScaredWhiteGirl... ;)

In other news, I have a long, diagonal scratch down one of my fingernails, and I'm pretty sure it's partially torn... this is unhappy. :( I've been doing really well with growing out my nails for over 2 months now. I have to keep them trimmed down so I can type, but I haven't been biting them, and that's a major accomplishment. So I get a little perturbed when something random happens to one of them that was growing nicely... *sigh*...

Not a whole lot of news on the craft front, since Christmas is past. I'm doing a craft fair on Valentine's Day (crocheted roses), and we're gonna make stuff to sell at E-con (I'm in charge of dice bags), so I've got work to do for both of those, but nothing exciting.

I did make myself a poncho, which is gonna be tons of fun to wear... :) It'll probably mostly be worn for game costuming, though, as while ponchos are rather popular at the moment, it's not quite my style...

I've got a few other sewing projects that I should do, mostly making myself some more skirts and such. And then there's all the household projects, but most of them are large, and will take a lot of time... and I'm against that... :)

So yeah, that's about it as for crafting...

::..::

In other news, I miss the sun. Yes, a weird comment from the goth girl, but I do like to see the sun on occasion... I just don't like for it to turn me pink or any other colors... I do have the whole ScaryWhiteGirl thing to maintain, after all... :)

Time for a different sort of quasi-music-rant. Err... it's a quasi-rant... definitely about music... whatever... :)

Remixes is the topic for today. Because, you see, Thor got me "Frozen Embers," which is a bunch of remixes of Cruxshadows songs. And then I got myself "Fortress in Flames," which is even more remixes of Cruxshadows songs.

Now I love the Cruxshadows. And there is nothing wrong with remixes in and of themselves. But did I really need five different remixes of "Citadel"? Well, maybe. I do like that song a lot. Four remixes of "Cassandra"? Okay, I suppose that's alright, cuz, again, I like that song alot. At least three (probably more) remixes of "Winterborn"? I'd complain, except that one of them is really awesome.

See, just a quasi-rant... because though I don't really NEED all of these remixes, some of them are decently good, and thus are a worthwhile addition to my collection...

But I don't need three more remixes of "Return," which is why I'm resisting buying "Vier Factor"... cuz I want the one exclusive track that's on there, but everything else is remixes, and most of the remixes of other bands are also songs I already have...

So what I'm asking for is more new stuff, not more remixes. Because though I want to have EVERYTHING the Cruxshadows have ever put out, I'd rather get a whole CD of new (or new-ish) stuff, like "Echoes and Artifacts," to yet another remix CD...

*sigh*... guess that's what I get for liking goth-y techno-y dance-y music... :)

(And this is made all the more funny by the fact that the Apoptygma Berzerk remix of "Tears" just started playing on my computer... :) )

::..::

In other news, I've discovered that I'm either unclassifiable as to type of goth, or I'm the weirdest hybrid of different styles and subcultures known to man... case in point? Last night I was wearing flare legged jeans, my Delirium T-shirt, and a plaid flannel shirt... hippie-goth-grunge-wha?! Meh, I just wear what's comfortable most of the time, and save the real gothness for dress-up occasions... mostly game... :)

And we have a game update this week as well... I went and played in the Paducah OWBN game for a couple of hours on Sunday night. Would have been nice to be able to stay longer, but as it takes me about an hour and a half to make the drive, and I had to work yesterday, I thought leaving about quarter after 10 was a good thing... :)

Anyways, it was a pretty fun game. A bit slow at the beginning, but most games are... especially when a lot of people have in-week scenes to run. But Mel got to have a nice chat with Elizabeth about Toreador stuff in C-dale, got to talk ever so briefly with Dizzy, and finally found out who Saul Good is. It's kinda funny meeting all these characters that Dani had such a long history with, but Mel has only heard stories about. What's funnier is that Mel learned the history of the domain from Peaches (Cindy), and now she's turning around and telling the history to Elizabeth (Cindy's new character)... so we will perpetuate the old stories, no matter what... :)

I also came to the realization last night that the oldest C-dale PC who is still based in C-dale is now Kenneth, followed by Karac, and then G-lo. I'm not counting Harun, because he was an ST PC for like 4 years, and was never really involved in plots and interactions during that time. It's so sad that Kenneth is the oldest C-dale PC, because I remember when he was a brand new character... *sigh*... I think I'm getting old, at least as far as that game is concerned...

Anyways, the best part about going to Paducah was that I came home with a list of things that I needed to take care of, and I've gotten started on all of those things. It's good to have a bit of enthusiasm for a game from time to time... :)

Hurrah! I watched movies this weekend... boy, did I watch movies... :)

"Van Helsing" - horrible, crappy movie, set in the World of Crap, which should perhaps be referred to instead as the World of SUCK. There were a couple of clever lines, and Kate Beckinsale's outfits were all super sexy, but that's about the extent of the good stuff in the movie. And I'm pretty sure I caught a part where they forgot to put in the CG. :)

"Man on Fire" - incredibly good movie, though rather long. Still, I liked it a lot. :)

"Kill Bill Vol. 2" - very kewl. I'm not sure if I like this better than the 1st one or not, but I'm still glad to have finally gotten to see both of them... :)

"Down with Love" - I'm not sure which part of this movie was better--watching the movie, or hearing Becky YELL at the movie... :) Either way, I liked it a lot. It made me laugh quite a bit, and I did get to hear Ewan McGregor sing, even if it was only for one song at the end of the movie... and here's me, thinking it was a musical... guess not... :)

"Fellowship of the Ring" (special edition) - I'm so glad I finally went out and bought these (hey, I waited till New Years Day... that's pretty good restraint on my part!). Best part of the extra scenes: the part where Legolas talks about the lembas (sp?) bread, and Merry asks Pippin how many pieces he ate... :)

I've also started watching the special edition of Two Towers, but haven't finished it yet. I'm liking it so far, though. I especially like the scene where it shows the interaction between Boromir and Faramir. Granted, I haven't read the books, but I thought that scene made Faramir being such a prick make a lot more sense... but that might just be me... :)

And we still have a large stack of movies on the agenda... there's just not enough time to watch all the crap we got for Christmas... :)
