TGIF and such! :) And for the End of the Work Week Wisdom:

"Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have."
--unknown

I dunno, I saw that the other day, and I like it. It works. :)

In other news, the weekend plans are wide and varied and crazy. Dinner with a few friends tonight, then some hanging out. Tomorrow morning, pancakes for breakfast, then a trip to Marion to shop, and then the Ren Faire in Murphysboro. Tomorrow night, Sabbat. Sunday, recuperating from the weekend, and Requiem. Whee! :)

In other other news, "Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter" is quite possibly the most wrong movie EVAR. We have started watching things that are very wrong on Thursday nights. I'm not sure how we can outdo this one... :)

Took a somewhat random day off work yesterday, because I needed a "me" day. That ended up working out pretty well, in that it allowed me to finish off one of my crochet projects (a surprise pressie for someone who may or may not read this, so we won't say what just yet). So that's kewl.

I picked up more cotton yarn, as I have a request to make cozies for regular sized beers. There will be a penguin, a duck, and a koala bear. This should be interesting... but we'll give it a shot... :) This is mainly because when people are at my apartment, they move around, and forget which beer is theirs. So if their beers are all dressed up like animals, it'll be easier. :)

Cindy and I talked about craft fairs last night, and there were three we wanted to do this fall, but after looking into it, we're probably down to two already... unfortunately, I left my folder of craft fair stuff at home, and thus can't find out about one of the remaining two until I get home today... *sigh*... the one that we're definitely (or almost definitely) not going to be able to do appears to be exceptionally high end, so yeah... it's okay that we're not doing that one... :)

The sun is reaching my monitor... dammit... time to find something else to do for a bit...

Thought I'd post another pic here, because I think I mentioned the lovely process of getting the angel wings put on my back in here.

First off, no, they aren't real. Yes, they look surprisingly real. There are a great many people to thank for that:
- Amber, for telling me about the fake tattoo "ink" (for lack of a better word), and where to buy it.
- Mawk, my friend Assie's boyfriend, for having put the REAL tattoo on Assie's back, and then taking a good pic of it.
- Doc, for sitting down with the pic, contact paper, and an exacto knife, and making the stencil for the wings.
- Doc and Jesi both, for sticking the contact paper to my back, painting the "ink" all over it, and then covering it with stickers. They also get mad props for suggesting ice cream midway through the waiting period, and watching "Underworld" with me.
- Cristyn, for standing in front of me and letting me hold her arm while Doc and Jesi ripped the contact paper off of my back. OUCH!

However, you see that little circle and arm popping up over the waist of the dress? Yeah, that one's real. That's the only picture I know of that has been taken of my actual tattoo, and it's only a partial picture... someday, maybe I'll get a real pic of it... :)

Blah... I'm skipping the game update this week because I don't really feel like updating about game. I'm half confused, half annoyed about stuff that's going on in the OWBN game... half confused, because I don't know all the details... half annoyed, because the details I do know seem really illegitimate... at any rate, I'd like more information before I say anything one way or another. So we'll drop it there.

I'm not commenting on the other games, because more likely than not, my annoyance with the OWBN game will just reflect on them as well... so yeah...

The one good thing I can note is that I got the pics from the Elysium from Thor, and they turned out very well. I think it's about that time, to change the picture to the left... baby coffin Dawn has been up for almost a year now... :)

So in non-gaming related news, it's cold as hell in my office, and that's annoying. It doesn't help matters much that I'm wearing a relatively thin dress, that, while ankle length, has slits on both sides of the skirt. And I'm wearing sandals. I think had I worn this with tights and boots, I'd be much better off... ah well, you live and learn...

I think I'll go outside after lunch to thaw out... :)

Fairly slim movie watching week, though I'm picking up quite a stack of things to watch when I have time...

"Snatch" - An old favorite, but one that I just re-acquired. I got to watch it with people who hadn't seen it, so that was a lot of fun. I warned them about "pikey" English... :)

"Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story" - Yes, I know it doesn't come out till this week, but if you didn't know you could get it off of the internet, well, you were missing out... :) At any rate, WOW. Family Guy is generally pretty edgy, and definitely very random. This movie went beyond edgy, and WAY more random than normal. And of course, this means I loved it. :)

As for other movies, I also acquired "Big Fish" and re-acquired "Amelie," I have borrowed 3 Invader Zim DVDs, and 2 Evangelion DVDs (to then be informed by J that he has the entire series on VHS... w00t!), and I still want to re-watch "American Beauty." J and I are going to see "Corpse Bride" tomorrow night, as mad hair-dyeing escapades halted our plans on Friday evening. Five people in the apartment, no one leaves with their natural color intact. Good times... :)

There are a good many choices for the End of the Work Week Wisdom this week. I think we'll go with one of the non-offensive ones... :)

News Reporter: Here comes Mayor Adam West himself. Mr. West, do you have any words for our viewers?
Mayor Adam West: Box, toaster, aluminum, maple syrup... no I take that one back. I'm gonna hold onto that one.
News Reporter: Thank you, Mayor West.

--"Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story"

That movie is the bomb, and there are so many good quotes from it. :)

In other news, Corpse Bride tonight! w00t! :) *happy dance*

In other other news, I get to wake up ungodly early tomorrow for the yard sale... bleh... hopefully I sell enough crap to make it worth my while... :)

Not much on the crafting front, because I've been relatively busy. Aleccia's purse is almost done, but I have to haul out the sewing machine to finish it, and I just haven't had time for that. I made a new hat for J, but it wasn't long enough, so I have to finish that still. Work on the afghan for Sarah's baby continues, but I've got loads of time to finish that. :) And the quilt is still in the closet, for now...

I think I'm liking being busy, rather than doing lots of crafts, though, so no major complaints. Two dance classes this semester, and rather than staying in the beginning Middle Eastern dance class for one more, I've decided to switch up to the continuing class already. The class is smaller, the instructor was looking for more people to be in it, and I was getting a little bit bored in the beginning class (we've done it all already, but there are a ton of new people in the class who have not). I think the continuing class is going to be a challenge, and I know that I need to make myself practice more, but that's okay. I want to get good at this! :)

In somewhat related news, Jesi and I freaked out that Doc and J hadn't seen the Shakira video for "Wherever Whenever" last night, so we downloaded it and made them watch it. Surprisingly, I had seen that video once, but still remembered all of it. On watching it now, though, I was able to recognize that a lot of the crazy hip stuff she does is variations on some of the stuff I've learned in M.E. dance... soooooo... yeah, I wanna be able to dance like that... it's hot. :)

"Baby I would climb the Andes solely
To count the freckles on your body
Never could imagine there were only
Ten million ways to love somebody"
--"Whenever, Wherever" by Shakira

No real musical news to report this week, at least nothing particularly new.

Kent continues to recommend music to me, and so far, he's done quite well. It isn't always necessarily my sort of music, but none of is has been bad thus far. I'm going to return the favor by giving him some goth CDs... :)

I flipped through Michael's CD book yesterday, while chatting with him, and only found one CD in there with any songs that I wanted (that I didn't already have). Everyone seems to have lost (or never had) their copy of the first System of a Down CD, so I remain foiled in my attempts to acquire that... :(

I need to see if J has gotten anything new lately, other than the plethora of CDs I've made for him. Doubt he has, as usually I'm one of the first to hear about it when he does... :)

Work is exceptionally boring today, and my LaunchCast station isn't helping much... it's playing lots of stuff I've never heard before, which makes it difficult to chair dance while working... :(

And in other news, I am anxiously awaiting fall.

Yeah, big time game weekend, with three games this past weekend.

Friday was the OWBN Formal Elysium, and it totally was gamer prom. Seriously. All the girls were dressed to the nines, and many of the guys followed suit. The dancing didn't much happen, due to technical difficulties with the music, and technical difficulties with the boys who were willing to dance. Glo didn't quite knock Mel over, but he came close. Leo Glacier is a far better dancer, but then I felt like I wasn't up to speed. Those were the only people I danced with, because Mel's date (Blake) and her dearest Nosferatu (Vermin) were off rolling someone. Go them! :)

Saturday night was Sabbat, but this was after Beer Fest, so I was quite drunk for the first hour or so, and then hungover after that. Ember got her first diablerie, which may be her only diablerie, so at least it was worthwhile. Got the first levels of Celerity and Presence, and only one neg trait (and it wasn't one I cared about, as I already play it anyhow)... :) I still need to make a case for allowing people on Death & the Soul more than one diablerie, but I've gotta work on that still... :)

And Sunday night was Requiem, which was a good time. Scary killed a couple of people in combat, because now she has a rifle, and it's far easier to do damage when you have three more dice... :) Then she and Roi watched two members of the coterie get a couple of diableries apiece. I do need to find out what the Circle of the Crone thinks of diablerie... my guess is they're opposed, but we'll have to check... :)

Really looking forward to the new Cammie game starting up on Saturday... w00t! :)

So let's see here... we watched a few movies this week, two of which were new to me...

"Kids" - One of those movies that I had long wanted to see, but just never had the opportunity. Jesi owns it, so she brought it over to watch finally. Wasn't too bad, but a little bit predictable in places...

"Waking Life" - This one was pretty out there, and spawned all sorts of interesting conversations and good quotes. Mostly, it hurt my brain, but I wouldn't be opposed to watching it again when I'm less tired, and might be able to follow some of the dialogue. I do have to say that it definitely needed the subtitles on, though, because there's just so much being said...

We also watched "Underworld," while sitting around and letting the fake angel wing tattoo set on my back. Speaking of the fake angel wing tattoo, I got a lot of compliments on it, and people were shocked when I told them it was fake. So yeah, it turned out quite nicely, and some people said I should get it done for real. Ummm... doubt it. Maybe with a whole lot of variation, but I'm not going with the one from the movie (The Crow: City of Angels), cuz Assie already has that one...

The End of the Work Week Wisdom makes approximately no sense at all:

"Super perfundo on the early eve of your day."
--from "Waking Life"

Especially for J. :) The IMDB page has a lot of the good quotes... :)

::..::

In other news, formal Elysium tonight, and it's the first one I'm not worrying about. That's such a nice feeling. I hated the other two, because I always dreaded going, because I had planned the damn things, and was convinced they would flop. Well, I've survived thus far, and now Megan has to plan them. w00t! :)

In other other news, I hate flies.

Well, I neglected to post yesterday, due to coming in to work late, and being tired pretty much all day. That sucked, but ah well. Got to bed at an exceptionally reasonable hour last night, slept almost through the entire night, and am feeling much better rested today. And that, my friends, is a good thing... :)

So because I promised it on Tuesday, here's the track listing for Viridian's soundtrack:

1. "Heroes from Our Past" by The Dropkick Murphys
2. "In Perfect Harmony" by Within Temptation
3. "Fight" by Chiasm
4. "When Fortune Turns Her Wheel" by The Drovers
5. "Ode to My Family" by The Cranberries
6. "Ce He Mise le Ulaingt? (The Two Trees)" by Loreena McKennitt
7. "Grace of God Go I" by Flogging Molly
8. "A Forest" (by The Cure) performed by Nouvelle Vague
9. "The Root of All Evil" by Abney Park
10. "Spin Moon Magic" by The Dreamside
11. "Gollum's Song" by Emiliana Torrini

This is probably the least goth soundtrack I've made for a character in a long time. I capitalized highly on Thor's love of Irish punk bands, which I've copied to my computer, and was able to put something together mostly from what I already had. Viridian is gonna be fun to play... :)

::..::

In crafting news, I'm currently almost done making a purse for Aleccia, who commissioned one from me. It's turning out quite nicely, and though I doubt I'll have it done before tomorrow night (or even by Saturday night), she'll have it relatively soon, I think. :)

After that, I think I'm going to work on my quilt. I think I know what I'm doing with it now, as I got instructions for tie tacking, rather than actual quilting. This will make it a lot quicker to finish, and that makes me happy. :) I think that the tie tacking will go well with the rather goofy nature of the quilt, too. :)

Game game game... :)

So Friday, we ended up converting our characters for Old School by Night, which is a one-ish-shot game that Dennis will be running in November. Dani, who I'm bringing back just for this, is ohmygodraw. Due to the ease of learning out of clan disciplines in 2nd ed, she now has Astral Projection, Horrid Reality, Aegis, whatever the top level Animalism is, Possession, and Soul Mask. Soul Mask, for the love of god! That's just her advanced disciplines. She has others at lower levels. :)

Saturday was character creation for the new Cammie game, Riddles in the Dark, for which I am bookkeeping narrator. I'm not STing, I'm playing. But due to my lack of memory for what is on my OWN character sheet, the STs and players have agreed that I can both play and do bookkeeping. So rock on for that. :)

My character for that game is a Tremere named Viridian Walker, and thus far, I'm the only Tremere in the game. There's still some people who haven't made their characters yet, though, so I may not end up the only one. I'm working on her background, which I need to have done by Saturday (Friday, if I want to print it on a decent printer), and it's getting somewhere. It's slow going today, so tonight I'm going to burn a copy of her soundtrack (which I already have done) and listen to that tomorrow while I work on it. Should help matters considerably. Maybe I'll post the track listing tomorrow... :)

Sunday was the new night for Requiem, which was a blast. Nathan's character helped his grand-Sire declare Praxis on the old Prince, and thus our coterie got positions in the new court. He's the Seneschal, Gangrel Priscus, and possibly Primogen. I'm just Primogen, which is a MUCH bigger deal in Requiem than in Masquerade. J's character is Harpy and Daeva Priscus, Jesi's is the Herald, and Jim's new character is the Mekhet Priscus. So w00t for us! I think I'm gonna buy up my Cruac next, cuz it's fun to call it Crack and use it on people... :)

This coming Friday is the Formal Elysium in the OWBN game, the first one that I haven't had to plan, more or less on my own. Megan is in charge of that, instead. I've done some masks for it, and I can't wait to see who gets the creepy eye mask that I slaved over. Some people want me to wear it, but it doesn't really go well with my new dress, which cost me $3, and is ohmygodhot. Thank you, J, for telling me there was a sale across the street from my apartment on Saturday! :)

Now that things are pretty much back to normal around the office, it's back to the usual posting schedule. :)

Unfortunately, I can't remember for sure what movies I watched since my last movie post. I can remember two for sure, but that's all. I know there were more, though...

"Freaked" - This was an incredibly random movie that Kent loaned to J and I, and I have no idea why Kent even bought it in the first place. Nonetheless, it was pretty amusing. Alec Winter and Keanu Reeves are in it, though the latter is uncredited.

"School of Rock" - Another one we borrowed from Kent, and I really liked it. Not sure why I hadn't already seen it, but hey, getting to borrow it and watch it for free was kewl. :)

On the agenda for this week is "Kids," which Jesi finally got out of storage. And I need to go on Amazon and see about buying the movies that she and I decided we wanted. We're gonna order them together to get the shipping discount... :)

In other news, it gets really cold in my new office in the afternoon (once the sun gets above the top of my window, and my boss is out today, and the theromostat is in his office. We don't have a master key yet, so I get to sit here and freeze. Figures, I wear my flip flops today... :( Ah well, I'm here till 2, then off to run errands.

Not a happy camper.

Well, that's not much of EotWWW, nor is it completely applicable now, but that pretty much sums up my absence and my past week, all in one phrase. :)

Last Thursday (the 1st) was the day that our offices started moving to the new building. That wasn't too bad of a day, honestly. I had to supervise the moving crew for a little while, telling them what to put into the truck, and where to put it when we got to the new offices. I can deal with that.

Friday was a bit more frustrating. I was planning to meet the moving crew at the new building first thing in the morning, to tell them where to put the 2nd load (loaded Thursday afternoon). Due to circumstances beyond anyone's control, they didn't arrive till 10:15. I didn't even go to my old office until 11 a.m. Then I got to putz around a little, eat lunch, and then get another load directed and delivered.

Long weekend intervenes, full of goodness.

Tuesday rolls around, and my boss is back from his trip. The office is pretty much packed up, but they're not quite ready to move us to the new building just yet. Still just moving bits and pieces here and there. 1 p.m. rolls around, and BOOM! We're moving everything, RIGHT NOW! So we go into super panic mode, get the remainder of the office into boxes, and go.

Wednesday, they take the last load from our old offices, and bring it to the new building. We have boxes everywhere. We get phones and computers eventually, but no internet. We didn't even have power to our outlets at first. There is much chaos. I manage to get my office about 90% settled. That's about it.

Thursday was a bit more smooth. I finished off my office, and my co-workers mostly finished theirs as well. Becky and I got the student work area in some semblance of order. Still had some more of the public area books to unbox, and my boss's office.

Today, Jordan and I finished off the public area books. My office is totally settled, and my internet is back. Boss's office is still in boxes. I told him that he could put his books up, because he knows how he wants them. They're still in boxes. I suppose I'll work on that on Monday, if he hasn't done it by then.

For now, though, I'm tired of boxes and lifting and carrying and concrete floors. You don't realize how much shock on your joints tile absorbs till you move to the building with concrete floors. Between that and J and I going to our first ballroom dancing class last night, my feet are killing me!

Well this week, we had arts and crafts camp at Megan's... really, it was just Cindy and Megan and I, with Jen and Starr showing up in time for Cindy and I to leave, but it was fun nonetheless. I worked on masks, Cindy made jewelry, and Megan worked on tassels and pins. We think we're going to try to do this more often, maybe, though I don't really know when I will have time to do so.

My schedule has just become busy for the next six weeks, as J and I are taking a ballroom dancing class for that timespan. It only meets once a week, but it filled up my last free night. Mondays, I have Middle Eastern dance, and watch wrestling. Tuesdays, I usually cook dinner for J and I, and we watch a movie or play Pimp or just hang out. Wednesdays, Bobert runs Requiem. Thursdays, we have the ballroom dancing class. I suppose the nice thing about this is that the LARP schedule for this semester looks very thin, which means the weekends will be open nights, but I'm sure something will fill those as well, just nothing on a regularly scheduled basis. :)

So yeah, the short version of that is that while the girlies and I want to be crafty, I don't have much time to do so... but I'm sure we'll figure something out. :)

I sent out some crocheted pressies to my two friends who just had babies, as well as Jeff, in Seattle. Other than that, I'm working on the baby blanket for Future Hagedorn Baby, and I think that's about it. I've finally finished with stuff for J & N's place, and it looks quite lovely. I was telling one of my student workers about all of the stuff I've made them, and she was astounded. I'm just more amazed that they let me make them all of this... :) But I'm glad that they appreciate it! :)

One of these days, I'll start working on a quilt that I started last year... or some time ago... it may have been longer... :)
