Things Get Crazy

All dates below refer to in-game time.

(SN: This is when I was running for about 8-12 people at a time!)

Our "Fire"less Leader
Feb. 14-21, 1997
SN: The title of this story needs explanation. During a gunfight outside of her house, Anneke actually tried to help the Archons. Enter James, with gasoline and fire... as the resultant explosion blossomed, I had everyone make Rotschreck checks... Anneke failed her roll. So while everyone else continued on with the gunfight, the 5th generation Justicar was curled up in a little ball in the hallway. What no one seems to remember about this story is that she wasn't the only one who failed the roll!
Ezikeal arrives to join the Archons. The city is attacked by a pack of Anarchs, who eventually arrive at the Estate, where a gunfight ensues. Upon discovering the location of the brains behind the Anarch pack, the Archons head to Buffalo, where Kethry Gard, a Tremere anarch, is destroyed. Ezikeal remains in Buffalo, and being the only Tremere in the area, is given control of the Chantry.
Out of game happenings: Having finally reached its breaking point, the situation in Berlin is solved when Karl Schreckt and his Archons arrive in the wake of Anarch activity and destroy a large portion of the city's population, including both Princes. Matthew Ldescu is put into power.
Obis leaves the Archons temporarily to rampage all over the Sabbat of El Paso, resulting in the reclaiming of that city by the Camarilla. In the process, he diablerizes one of the Bishops of the city, and acquires Paco, a newly Embraced Pander.

Errands for the Boss
Feb. 25-27, 1997
SN: With so many people in my game, I found that it was really hard to run standard stories. I tried to solve the problem by having them encounter a whole bunch of NPCs at once (bad idea)!
Anneke sends the Archons and associated hangers-on to San Francisco to pick up a package for her from a mage in San Francisco. While there, they met a few of the Vampiric inhabitants of the city while visiting the Vampire Club.

Hunting the Hunter
Mar. 4-5, 1997
SN: Never, I repeat, NEVER try to run for a whole bunch of people and expect them to stick together to get things accomplished. I don't remember how many groups my PCs broke into for this story. The main problem was the one who went solo and tried to finish the whole thing alone. I finally had to let him, only cuz no one else was getting anywhere!
The Archons are sent back to St. Louis to track down and stop an infamous Vampire hunter, Sullivan Dane. They solve the problem (and keep everyone undead) by having a warrant put out for his arrest and by making his records state that he was an escaped lunatic.

There's a Foot in Our House
Mar. 7-8, 1997
SN: In this story, I made the mistake of bringing in a VERY powerful character from a book, and actually letting the players know who/what he was from the start. It's hard to properly portray an ANCIENT vampire. Now I've learned. Luckily, our diablerie hungry PC wasn't around that week!
After the foundation for James' new house has been dug, the Archons discover that a Vampire has been living underground on Anneke's estate for several centuries. She is Claudia, a 4th generation Cappadocian, and she's looking for an old friend... Lameth. The Archons accompany her to Denver, where she seems to think he may be staying. After narrowly escaping some dangerous situations, they find him and leave Claudia in Denver.

The Great Chicago Flood
Apr. 3-5, 1997
SN: 'It slices, it dices, look at those Gangrel!' Ah, the fun of Gangrel with Celerity. James and Obis killed the primary suspect in just one segment!!!! From then on, we called anyone who had Protean 2 or better, along with Celerity either 'Human Quisinart' or 'Human Ginsu'. Never mind that they're undead...
The Archons are sent to Chicago to investigate a flood of the sewers and streets of Chicago. After searching around in the sewers for a while, they find a lone Nosferatu who remains in the sewers, who helps them find the culprit, who is subsequently destroyed.

Zombies and Explosions and Gargoyles, Oh My!
Apr. 7, 1997
SN: In the final episode before I removed a lot of players from my game, we had more of the usual chaos. This one was heavily combat oriented, using some pretty interesting enemies and some VERY interesting mass destruction (of both the plot and the enemies) ...
After an attack by "zombies" on one of the Kindred of the city's nightclub, the Archons are sent in to a strange soundless area to destroy the zombies. After the zombies are defeated, the Archons are told about the demolition of several large buildings, and that they must hurry home. On the way, they find that one of the demolished buildings in blocking traffic, so they call a helicopter to get them home. Upon arriving at the estate, they find it abandoned, except for the butler, who sends them to another location, armed with plenty of silver bullets. They take the helicopter once again, thus avoiding any Lupine encounters, and arrive at Anneke's secondary base of operations, an abandoned barn, where Anneke and Cat are tracking a gargoyle, headed in their direction. When they try to stand off against the gargoyle, he kidnaps Talon, who he believes is Anneke. After a brief interrogation, the cavalry (err... Air Force) arrives to rescue Talon. In an act of desperation, Derek lets loose with his machine gun and destroys the gargoyle as it chases them down the stairs. After the conclusion of this episode, Paco, Obis, and Sera leave to conduct a raid (unsuccessfully) on the Sabbat of Detroit.
