Death, Destruction, and Dementia

The Masquerade
Oct. 31, 1997
SN: Nothing major going on here. James had been collecting names of NPCs since almost the beginning of the chronicle. When his player told me James wanted to throw a party, I asked him to make me up a guest list. He handed me his character sheet, pointing to the list of names. Most of them actually showed up!
James hosts a gala masquerade ball at his recently built home (on Anneke's estate). Kindred from all over the globe are in attendance, and a good time is had by all.

Search and Destroy
Nov. 5-8, 1997
SN: This plot was a variation on one that I found in the Storyteller's Guide to the Sabbat - a Camarilla Vampire, acting as a Sabbat Vampire turns "traitor." Reverse the affiliations, and you have a story worthy of Archon attention. Especially when the culprits were living in the Archon's city - Dallas!
David & Amelia Brookshire, "Ventrue" of Dallas, are discovered to be Sabbat members who have infiltrated the Dallas Camarilla. They flee, and the Archons are sent after them, after capturing and destroying the three Tzimisce of the city. The Archons believe they have found David, but discover him to be a brainwashed, fleshcrafted mortal. Keith Whytecliff, a Toreador from Dallas who is visiting San Francisco, assists the Archons, but also assists the Sabbat members. Ultimately, the Archons are able to track down David and Amelia, by having Talon pose as one of the Tzimisce from Dallas. David and Amelia are destroyed. Prince Johann Kirk of Dallas declares Keith banned from his city and removed from the Primogen. Arlan Thompson is named to the Primogen.

The Real Archon Stuff
Nov. 10-26, 1997
SN: This was my attempt to finally clean up the mess that is Washington, DC. Nothing really happened, except for the taking of Baltimore, but the Archons had a good time meeting the Archons from the other Justicars, and getting to rescue and meet many people who wanted to be Prince of Baltimore. And also, because of my weird twisted way of running the Blood Hunt in this story, two of my Archons raised their generation from 9th to 8th. Never mind the fact that what I had them do is supposed to be a ritual...
On November 10th, Baltimore is seized by Camarilla, driving the last remnants of the Sabbat in that city out. Soon after, the Archons find an orphanage in DC where all of the children have been turned into Vampires. The orphanage and its inhabitants are destroyed. On November 13th, Art Morgan calls a Conclave, which begins on the 15th. In the mean time, the Archons go to Baltimore and issue a call to the other Justicars to send a few of their Archons to help hold the city until a power structure can be established. After being in the city for a few days and not meeting any applicants for Prince, the Archons seek out the reason for this. Jack Malcolm, a Vampire hunter turned 7th generation Vampire, is holding the candidates in an abandoned building. Anneke gives permission for the Archons to Blood Hunt him, and Talon and Derek Malone are the victors.

What's up with Rhode Island?
Jan. 13-14, 1998
SN: I'm pretty sure I borrowed elements of this story from the Dark Colony sourcebook. In all honesty, I think most of my players were more interested in playing with the mages than actually solving the plot. Ah well, what do you expect when I make NPCs out of characters that we really wanted to play!
The Archons are sent to Rhode Island to investigate the disappearances of 3 Princes of separate cities and their associates. On a lead from one of the Kindred of the area, they find and make friends with a coven of young mages. Eventually, they are able to track down Warwick, the person behind the disappearances, capture him, and leave him for Narconti to deal with. Brittne decides to stay with the coven for a while.

The Unusual Suspects
Jan. 18-21, 1998
SN: Ah yes... the story with probably the most memorable line of my entire game. "He was friend to no one, mentor to even less." It was a reference to good ole Matthew, long dead by this point. But some people just wouldn't let him die...
Kaitlen arrives in Dallas to be an Archon. The Archons are sent to Atlanta to investigate the appearance of some 'Snake Men' and Lydie's 'Sire.' They discover that Jeremiah, an old acquaintance of Matthew, is working with the Setites in an attempt to destroy Derek. Jeremiah is slain, Lydie is Blood Bound to Derek, and Chrysara al Batini is once again left at large.

From the Ashes, Live
Jan. 27, 1998
SN: If the Phoenix Society was smart, they'd probably stop sending teams against the Archons. I mean, when every time they show up, their ENTIRE team is DESTROYED... you think they would get the point!
Near the anniversary of the destruction of the Phoenix Society compound in New Orleans, the Phoenix Society makes their counter-strike against the Archons. The Archons dispatch them handily.

Everything You Know is Wrong
Feb. 12-15, 1998
SN: Let me see if I can remember how the threat after this story went... "If you ever send us to fairy-land again..." well, I don't remember what they said they would do to me, but it wasn't pleasant. Anyway, they were only in Arcadia for a short time, and even that wasn't how it should have been. They would have liked it if all the fae started exploding from the massive banality of 6 Vampires walking in... (can you tell I didn't like Changeling?)
The Archons travel to Alfredo Fettucini's top secret base in Roswell, also known as Area 52. They enter a dream-scape/umbral type world, where nothing is as it seems. They meet up with the Steppin' Wolves (see St. Claire Contract) and Mackenzie Davis (see Errands for the Boss), and visit Arcadia briefly. Jane adopts a Pooka named Rumplestilskin and brings him home with her.
