What Did the Archons Do?

Before they became Archons, most of the group lived in St. Louis. They occasionally worked for the Nosferatu Primogen, Aleksander Tromskii. After going to Berlin and meeting Karl Schreckt and his Archons, they were recommended to the new Toreador Justicar as possible candidates for her team of Archons. They accepted the job, and moved to her home base in Dallas.
Once in Dallas, they learned that they had been assigned to a special job. In addition to their normal duties, they would be responsible for investigating strange, inexplicable occurences all over the world.
In the early days, it wasn't too bad. There were usually between 4 and 7 Archons, so they had to do a lot of work, but they were capable enough. Eventually, working for Anneke became pretty popular. For a while, she had as many as 12 Archons! Finally, many of them moved on to other positions, or went off to do work on their own, so that in the end, there were only the original 5 Archons - Cat, Talon, James, Hiccup, and Derek.
The turning point of their careers (and the campaign) came in late February, 1998. After a year and a half of working for Anneke, she was called to Europe by the Inner Council of the Camarilla, who questioned her methods and results. The group scattered for a while, but in the end came back together to find Anneke and avert Gehenna. While she was offered her position back, Anneke voluntarily resigned and returned to Dallas with Cat, Derek, and Narconti, to help raise the 4 young girls who had done most of the work in averting Gehenna.
