a Werewolf: The Apocalypse chronicle
Here it is... my first attempt at something other than Vampire. Oh boy, we're in for a ride...
The chronicle is set in St. Louis, with the primary caern at Laumeier Sculpture Park. The city of St. Louis once boasted many caerns, but over time was reduced to three, with a fourth caern in East St. Louis. The Apocalypse is coming; time to shore up the defenses...
Recently, a fourth St. Louis caern has been opened, and some Garou of the city have plans to build more caerns. In the meantime, St. Louis is becoming a popular place for Garou to congregate, and the population is steadily climbing...
While St. Louis' population rises, the pack's numbers are in decline. Freddie's decision to leave the pack, coupled with Krizia's recent death, has left the remaining members of the pack at a loss. Will anyone join them, or will Joseph and Sam try to survive as a pack of two?
Ravenstorm (the PC pack; pack totem: Raven):
- Joseph "Silentstorm" Ivanov, Homid Philodox Shadow Lord (portrayed by Ian)
- The youngest member of the pack, Joseph has now discovered the cause behind his nightmares, and is beginning to make peace with the realization that his entire family is dead. He has displayed time and again the potential for greatness. Quiet and keeping to himself most of the time, Joseph knows how to unleash his rage when the time is appropriate. He is the Alpha of Ravenstorm.
- Samantha "Seeker of the Lost Ones" Jones, Homid Theurge Wendigo (portrayed by Adam)
- Samantha was lucky in that her Garou mother, Rebecca, was actually around to raise her. She is adjusting very well to this new life, and learning all she can about anything and everything. Her special interest lies in learning about the Croatan. She has not taken the loss of her packmates well, and her plans for the immediate future are uncertain, at best.
Tagalongs:
- Emma Masaki, Homid Corax (NPC)
- Emma, a young Japanese-American girl, met the pack while they were on their totem quest. When Raven adopted the pack, the pack adopted Emma. While she spends much of her time out seeing things in St. Louis, she always returns to the pack with stories of what she has seen. In the now diminished pack, Emma has become the temporary receptacle for the weakened totem spirit that travels with the pack.
Former characters:
- Donovan "Shaft" Bradley, Homid Philodox Black Spiral Dancer (formerly Child of Gaia) (portrayed by Jason V.)
- Donovan did not adjust well to Garou society. Disillusioned, he sought something more. He has joined the ranks of the BSDs, but thinks he may be able to accomplish sabotage from within the forces of the Wyrm. (and out of game, his player has joined the Navy... *sniffle*... we will miss him!)
- Freddie "Off Somewhere Else" Grace, Homid Theurge Silent Strider (portrayed by Mikey)
- Freddie never quite felt as though he belonged in the pack. After some deep soul searching and a conversation with Raven, he opted to go the way of his tribe and become a lone Garou messenger.
- Krizia "Antivirus" Szeretlek, Homid Galliard Glasswalker (portrayed by Goog)
- Krizia, a light-hearted former gamer, learned of Joseph's nightmares and took it upon herself to fix them. While in Joseph's dreamscape, she was challenged and killed by Joseph's father, the cause of his nightmares. The rest of the pack then slaughtered Joseph's father, but Krizia's presence will be sorely missed. (out of game, yet another player departure from Carbondale, this time to Texas. We will miss him too!)
Priceless quotes:
Donovan: There are forces working against us...
Freddie: In a mall?
Joanna (NPC): This is gonna sound kinda weird, but what's Donovan's last name?
(long pause)
Samantha: Ovan?
A very rough version of the first book of the chronicle.
Christian Razors-Edge, a Get of Fenris Galliard, tells the story of Ravenstorm.
