Fiction

Here you will find an assortment of fiction related to LARP characters, as well as some dealing with a few tabletop games. The majority of this is by me, but I'm adding some by some of my friends as well.

Be warned! Many of these stories might be construed as offensive, and would certainly garner an "R" rating if they were films. If you feel that you might be offended, please do not read them.

Broken Sword of Caine:

Stories by Dawn Vogel:

Stories by Aaron Wright:

Aaron, a.k.a. Blitz, writing about two different Sabbat characters. Be warned, his "Phoenix" stories are not for the weak of stomach. If you feel that you might be offended by them, don't read them!

Stories by Seth Horton:

The first four stories are part of an ongoing series, and should be read in the order presented.
Another story.

Old Character Backgrounds:

I was looking through the stuff I've accumulated on my computer over my years of LARPing, and I found that I still have a lot of the backgrounds that I have written for my various characters over the past few years. Since most of these characters are long since retired, I thought I'd put some of the interesting backgrounds and other stuff on my website. Enjoy!

Miranda
constant thought of Miranda: "Would you people please stop shooting other people in my store???"
Miranda was a 14th generation Caitiff that I played for about a month in The Brink LARP. She eventually became 13th generation, when the Prince gave her seven "Sabbat" vampires to diablerize (they were actually the Prince's childer!). I retired this character shortly after that, but may bring her back in a new incarnation in the future!

Raisa
Saul Good to Raisa: "They told me you're a lady of the night..."
Raisa was a Toreador that I played for three whole weeks in The Forgotten LARP. The above quote, coupled with the fact that they made me Prince and then I decided I didn't like being Prince, led to Raisa's hasty exit from the city.

Amber Knight
Amber to any male that looked at her: "Wanna wrestle?"
Amber was a Setite that I played in The Forgotten LARP. She is also the ONLY character that I have ever played who was killed, and she didn't even really deserve it! Ah well, in the wrong place at the wrong time...

Lita
Lita was a Caitiff that I played once in Fires of the Wise, the Champaign-Urbana OWBN chronicle. Bischoff was my friend Nathan's character, so we tied our backgrounds into each other for our one excursion to C-U. Then I saw Fight Club... oh well... At any rate, I reworked the background a little bit, and played her once in Caught in the Eternal Twilight, the Edwardsville OWBN chronicle. Then I shelved her, cuz I was tired of playing Caitiff. They get no respect, I tell ya...

Elzbiet
Experience point nomination from Highlander Jim: "Cuz she pronounced Tzimisce three different ways tonight."
Elzbiet was a character I created for the From the Ashes LARP. Although I only played her a couple of times, it was interesting to try to portray an elder Tzimisce, particularly one with such an unusual world-view as Elzbiet. As a background for an elder Cainite of the Sabbat, be warned that you may find aspects of this story offensive!

Scary
Scary was a character that I played in the Bloodsister's online chronicle, Wintercastle. I really liked this story, because it finally motivated me to do something with this character, rather than just having her sit at home every night.

Jubilee and Jack
Jubilee was my character in the American Frontier. Jack was Gabe's character. We wrote our background together, since we came into the game as a pack, the Twisted Little Fuckers. This is more Sabbat vampire stuff, so it may be offensive to some readers.

Lucy Jane Brennan / Lucena Diamante
Lucy Jane was a Changeling character that I made for The Iron Gates. I only got to play her once, but I really liked the character and the background.

Dani Ghivanni
Dani was a character I played in the Forgotten, and briefly in the Accursed Forgotten. She is currently retired into the ether (a terribly appropriate place for her, I think...), and I have no plans to bring her back into play.

Satan's Handbag:

stories by various authors
Satan's Handbag is a band/Sabbat pack created by my friends in Edwardsville and myself. We wrote several of our backgrounds to mesh with one another, so that you could see the bigger picture if you read them all. It's a really neat concept, I think!
Please note that these are backgrounds of Sabbat Cainites, and as such, are fairly dark and vulgar.

Tabletop stories:

These are just a couple of stories that I wrote in relation to my old tabletop games.

Other stuff:

By Dawn Vogel:

A poem I wrote when I was playing Dani Ghivanni in the Forgotten

By Seth Horton:

A story Seth wrote about his Garou character, Rachel Erickson These next two stories were written for the fiction board for "The Devil's Own."
