The Screening Room

Before we get to the lists, just a little about my tastes. I'm one of the few people I know that will watch almost anything. My friends talk about how they left this movie after half an hour, or turned this movie off after 15 minutes, but I have rarely done that! So I've seen some pretty odd stuff. Other than that, I tend to like Vampire flicks a lot (no big surprise there). I'm also a sucker for fantasy movies, and nearly any movie made by certain actors...
Here's a list of some of the ones I like a lot:

The Adventures of Baron Munchausen
"I've got a galaxy to run. I don't have time for flatulence and orgasms!"
Kinda rare, but if you can find it, it's well worth your time. Everyone I mention this movie to loves it, if they've heard of it! :)

Army of Darkness (and Evil Dead II)
"This is my boomstick!"
It's cheesy, but it's so much fun! And ya gotta love Bruce Campbell!

Bram Stoker's Dracula
This is one of the most visually stunning movies I've ever seen. Just don't get me started on the plot accuracy...

The Crow
"They were already dead. They just didn't know it yet"
"Is that gasoline I smell?"
Although the comic book is better at times, I absolutely adore this movie. Let's not talk about the second movie that they called The Crow, however... I haven't seen the third one yet...

Dark City
When I first saw the previews for this movie, I knew I was going to love it. Though it gets a bit surreal at times, that's part of the charm!

Fight Club
I wouldn't watch this movie for a long time, cuz I thought it was going to be lame. Boy was I wrong!

Interview with a Vampire
For the record, I don't like Tom Cruise. But even he is great in this movie!

Lord of the Rings trilogy
Long awaited, but definitely well worth the wait! Now, if I could only get through those darn books...

The Matrix
WOW!!! We saw it twice in the theater, and got it on DVD as soon as we could. Well worth my time!!

The Mummy and The Mummy Returns
Yes, they are a little bit silly in places, but they're fun!

Nightmare before Christmas
When you love Danny Elfman and Tim Burton as much as I do, how can you possibly resist something as wonderful as this movie?

The Princess Bride
I can't remember why we rented this one the first time, but I just started watching it... repeatedly. It's gotten to the point now where I'm not "allowed" to watch it among certain circles of friends, cuz I can quote every line. I would estimate I've seen it over 200 times, but I lost count a long time ago!

Princess Mononoke
Never did get to see this one in the theater, but I had it on DVD, so I could watch it in English or Japanese. Bonus!

The Rocky Horror Picture Show
If only I got to see this more often!!!! I also wish I could be in it again (I played Janet once when they showed it at my old college, and, most recently, Magenta in the local production).

The Star Wars Trilogy
I prefer Return of the Jedi among the three that are currently out, but that's a source of major contention between myself and my friends.

Star Wars: The Phantom Menace
Okay, I liked it... I don't care what people say! Natalie Portman is GREAT, and Anakin kinda grows on you, eventually...

Star Wars: Attack of the Clones
Five words for you. Yoda with a frickin' lightsaber! That scene, alone, would make this movie all worth it. And there are a couple of other good parts too!
